Prague: A Tutu-ful Escape, Post #78

Bonjour, darlings! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means - a brand new Prague blog post from your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed travel enthusiast, Emma! This week, I'm taking you on a whirlwind tour of Prague, a city bursting with fairytale charm, medieval history, and enough delicious food to make even the most disciplined ballerina break her diet.

Oh, and did I mention the incredible ballet scene? You bet! I just can't get over the amazing talent and dedication here. I've been exploring the city for the past week, indulging in a delightful mix of ballet performances, dreamy cafes, and cobbled-stone strolls.

Let's rewind a bit, shall we? The journey to Prague was a classic Emma adventure - train and pony, of course! My trusty steed, a beautiful chestnut named Prince, carried me all the way to the train station, and I found myself lost in a world of vintage carriages and steam engines, just like something out of a children's story. Honestly, it was such a fun experience - everyone smiled at me, charmed by the bright pink tutu fluttering in the wind as I boarded the train.

Prague, Where History Meets Chic

Upon arriving in Prague, I was greeted by a symphony of charm - pastel-coloured buildings, winding cobblestone streets, and a truly fairytale atmosphere. This city just radiates history. I'm a bit of a history buff myself, especially when it comes to fashion. Imagine the exquisite bodices and lavish fabrics worn during the reign of the Habsburgs! sighs dreamily And speaking of fashion, Prague has its own special charm - a blend of vintage glamour and modern-day chic that truly stole my heart. The stores here are an absolute treasure trove for a girl who loves a good tutu and a splash of pink.

Tutus and Treasures: Prague's Ballet Scene

Let's talk ballet! Prague is a real haven for ballet enthusiasts like myself. The city has several renowned ballet companies, including the Prague National Theatre Ballet, known for its exceptional performances and diverse repertoire. Last night, I had the absolute pleasure of attending a breathtaking performance of "Giselle." The talent on display was astonishing - I felt so inspired, watching the grace and precision of the dancers.

The ballet company's costumes were incredible. Speaking of costumes, the tutu evolution throughout the history of ballet is simply fascinating. From the very first, rigid, hoop-skirted "tutus" to the soft and airy tulle we know and love today - the changes are astonishing! If you haven't seen "Black Swan" yet, do yourselves a favour! It's the perfect exploration of a ballet dancer's psyche, wrapped in a sumptuous, black-and-white tutu spectacle! whispers The costumes alone are worth the ticket price!

Fashion in the City

Speaking of outfits, I can't talk about Prague without mentioning the fashion scene! I've been spotting some stunningly chic street style in this city. And, of course, my wardrobe has been getting a much-needed makeover. It’s been so much fun mixing and matching new vintage finds with my signature pink tutus, making each outfit a delightful ballet of colours and textures!

A Tutuful Treat

Yesterday, I discovered a lovely little cafe in the heart of Old Town Square. The name was utterly adorable - "Cafe Tutu," and, just imagine my delight - the owner herself was a former ballerina! They served the most divine pastries, and of course, I had to try the pink-frosted macarons, an absolute masterpiece of sugar artistry. I’m actually starting to think this may be the best cafe ever! They are just a little off the main street. pulls a wink It’s totally a hidden gem.
