Prague, darling! Pink Tutu Adventures, Post #88

Bonjour mes chéries!

This week I’m posting from the magnificent city of Prague, where the cobblestones are like whispered secrets and the architecture is so beautiful it makes you want to cry – with joy, of course! I’m on the hunt for vintage tutus in the bustling flea markets, exploring historic theatres, and of course, indulging in a spot of ballet. The air here is charged with magic and inspiration, which makes a tutu-loving ballerina like myself feel like I’ve found my own personal wonderland.

Oh, how I love travelling by train! The gentle sway of the carriages, the view of countryside whizzing past, and the smell of old books and pastries. There’s just something so romantic about it, isn’t there? Plus, you get a chance to soak up the atmosphere and admire the architecture, especially here in Europe. The countryside flitted by – the green fields and winding rivers, quaint villages with red roofs and chimneys, all just added to the magic of this journey.

My trip began with a whirlwind train journey through Germany. As we journeyed across the countryside, I noticed some gorgeous women in their vibrant silk scarves. That gave me an idea - scarves on tutus, fabulous! What a glorious statement for any ballerina. You know me, I love to combine classic style with a little something extra. I took inspiration and ordered some exquisite scarves online, envisioning them perfectly complimenting a cascade of tulle, each colour creating a visual symphony.

Reaching Prague, I hopped onto a little pony carriage to head towards the heart of the city, all nestled amidst the old town. What an enchanting way to explore! My heart fluttered as the clip-clop of hooves on cobblestones accompanied the rhythm of my imagination, creating a fairytale setting in my mind.

After settling in my quaint little hotel, tucked away in a cobbled street, I set off to find some local fare. My eyes were drawn to a bustling market filled with bright colours and exotic scents. I bought myself a beautiful pink scarf for my tutu. They're really quite striking with the black tutus. Prague just breathes style!

After a light lunch, my adventures led me to the grand Estates Theatre. The majestic facade, carved with ornate sculptures and intricate detail, made me feel like I’d been transported back in time. They call it the ‘national theatre of the Czech Republic’ but for me, it’s a tutu haven!

Stepping inside was an experience! Golden gilded ceilings and plush red velvet seats - so grand! As I settled down for a spectacular ballet show, I felt that unique tingling sensation – the familiar pre-show energy that stirs every ballerina's soul. It's pure joy and excitement, a moment of magic where you know something wonderful is about to happen. It was a delight to witness the intricate footwork and expressive movements of the dancers, the graceful movements and precise steps – just so mesmerising. The story of love, betrayal, and triumph, beautifully depicted through the graceful art of ballet, captured my heart.

Later that evening, as the magical glow of Prague illuminated the old city streets, I ventured to the "Golden Lane". Such a whimsical little place! This quaint alley, lined with tiny houses, oozes charm. They are like something out of a fairy tale, these tiny, colorful buildings are filled with tiny workshops and artist studios. I'm already thinking about making them into miniature pink tutus. Imagine, a mini tutu store on Golden Lane, tucked away in one of these tiny, storybook houses! It's absolutely divine!

Now, let me tell you about something utterly magical – Prague Castle. As I strolled around its sprawling courtyards and climbed its imposing towers, I was utterly spellbound. Its towering spires and imposing ramparts whisper of past grandeur, a true visual feast, and, naturally, a dream come true for a tutu enthusiast. You wouldn't believe the views, they just melt your heart and make your imagination fly.

As for today, I’m planning to visit the captivating Prague astronomical clock. Its ornate face and dancing figures, a piece of art and mechanical marvel, have been attracting visitors since the 15th century! It’s such a quirky little gem tucked away in a crowded square, which is actually pretty fabulous - just like the style here! I can't wait to share photos!

To make sure I stay comfortable in my ballet attire while sightseeing and strolling, I picked up a lovely pastel pink tutu dress. It’s lightweight and super chic, perfect for this kind of trip! Oh, and let's not forget my ballet flats – so stylish and perfect for traversing those cobblestone streets. I believe you just can't have too many pink tutus! I am, after all, a passionate tutu-ist!

Later, I will be dancing the night away with the magical world of "Prague's Dance Nights". A selection of ballet dancers will be performing their hearts out in the historic streets of Old Town. I plan to see as many dancers and ballet performances as possible - my schedule's jam-packed!

Every now and then, life reminds you to follow your dreams and I believe Prague is one of those magical places where dreams come true. With each step, every dance, every sight, my inspiration for pink tutus grows and the vision of a pink tutu empire starts to take shape, it's an adventure in itself!

Don't forget, you can catch my adventures each Wednesday on www.pink-tutu.com, and find me on Instagram for daily snaps of all my travels, my wardrobe, my inspirations, and, naturally, a whole lotta tutus! Don't be shy!

Bisous,

Emma
