Pink Tutu Prague - Post #90: A Ballet Wonderland in the City of a Hundred Spires

Bonjour, mon chérie! Emma here, your Pink Tutu Queen, reporting live from the magical city of Prague. It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another installment of my Prague adventures on pink-tutu.com! Buckle up, darlings, as we delve into the wonders of this city, ballet and, of course, pink tutus!

As many of you know, I recently discovered a new way to fuel my passion for both travel and ballet – performing! This week, I charmed the socks off of Prague's Opera House patrons with my captivating rendition of "The Dying Swan." They showered me with applause, which – let's be honest – is my favourite kind of fuel! 🦢

Before I jump into my fabulous Prague exploits, I have a special announcement! Remember the incredible vintage tutu I snagged from a tiny shop in Vienna? It was literally calling out to me from the display window, covered in exquisite beadwork and delicately faded silk. Well, I've been rocking it all week, and I must tell you – the attention it's getting is divine. 💅

It turns out, Prague loves its ballet history! I overheard someone say, "Look at that ballerina in the vintage tutu, she's channeling the spirits of those grand Czech dancers of old." Imagine, darling! My tutu has me making a historical connection across decades!

And Prague, my darlings, is brimming with stories of ballet history! I have been spending hours getting lost in the magnificent National Theatre, just imagining the legendary dancers who graced its stage centuries ago. My dear, they were like majestic butterflies, twirling and fluttering through time! It's an inspiration, isn't it?

And speaking of history, the cobblestone streets of Prague are just as enchanting. I feel like I've stepped into a fairytale! From the stunning Charles Bridge, adorned with statues that seem to whisper secrets from the past, to the enchanting Old Town Square, with its vibrant colours and stories swirling through the air.

The Prague Castle, perched atop the hill, looks like it’s straight out of a painting – perfectly symmetrical and oh-so-grand! The view from its towers is breathtaking, truly fit for a princess like me! 👸

But Prague isn't all about castles and grand squares, darlings. This city pulses with a lively bohemian energy, which I simply adore. The bohemian cafes, the street art that paints every corner with whimsical tales, and the independent boutiques brimming with creative treasures. They just seem to echo the spirit of creativity that ballet brings. 🎨

Now, about the shopping. Let’s just say, this pink-loving ballerina was in heaven! Every corner is filled with the most charming shops. I’ve snagged a few stunning pink satin hair scarfs, some lace-edged gloves, and an absolute gem of a hat – a soft, pink-toned beret that sits perfectly on my head. You haven’t seen this much pink since the last time I saw Barbie's Malibu Dreamhouse! 🎀

But the highlight of my shopping escapade was a whimsical, Parisian-inspired boutique tucked away on a quiet street. I found the most stunning, ethereal tulle skirt – you know the kind with that lovely ruffled bottom that seems to twirl forever? The perfect addition to my ballet-themed wardrobe! I just know it will look fantastic with my pink satin ballet slippers and my vintage tutu!

Let's talk about food, darling! Prague is a foodie’s paradise. I've tried delicious traditional Czech dishes: goulash so flavourful it could make angels weep, roast pork with dumplings that melt in your mouth, and crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside knedliky, dumplings that have to be tasted to be believed. 😋

After a decadent lunch, I felt inspired. Why not share this delightful cuisine with the city, while sporting a little pink, naturally? I put on a brand-new pink tutu that I found at the Prague Ballet Shop, yes, dear reader, there’s an actual store for ballet items – a dream come true! It was perfect for "The Swan Lake Suite," which I performed on a charming bridge overlooking the Vltava River, with the sun casting its golden glow on my graceful movements.

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without an evening spent at a stunning ballet performance at the Estates Theatre! It’s just brimming with elegance, with a charming red-velvet interior that takes you back in time, my dear! The show – a delightful mix of classical and contemporary works – was a pure delight. Watching talented dancers on stage fills me with pure joy! 🤩

This evening was extra special because the Prague National Ballet was showcasing a new, whimsical ballet piece inspired by the folklore of the city’s unique neighborhoods! It was like a fairytale come to life, with delicate costumes, enchanting choreography and, of course, some dazzling, twirling tutus! I think I spotted a pink one in the second act – if I’m being honest, the shade matched my vintage beret perfectly!

Speaking of, my dear friends, you must know – a ballerina's life is a journey of passion and style! This trip to Prague, this wondrous ballet-loving city, has been no exception! Each step, each twirl, each performance, each glimpse of the city's magical aura has been an adventure for my senses!

If you're a ballet aficionado or even just a dreamer seeking inspiration and a dash of romance, Prague should be your next destination, darling! I’m sure your heart, like mine, will skip a beat in this enchanted city!

Now, let’s not forget the core of my being, the raison d'etre of this blog, darling! It’s the tutu! My heart aches for you, my lovely readers, to share this enchanting world of swirling tulle, flowing fabrics and pure beauty! So I ask you, with all the heartfelt desire I possess – join me in a pink tutu revolution! Spread the message of grace, charm, and happiness, one tutu at a time! 💕

Until next Wednesday, dear friends,

Your ever-so-pinkly passionate ballerina, Emma 💖
