Oh, Prague, you are truly a fairytale!
Dearest readers,
My pink tutu is whirling with excitement as I write to you from the heart of Prague. Yes, you read that right, Prague! The cobbled streets, the magnificent architecture, the enchanting history - this city has captivated me like no other. It’s a ballet in itself! I can't wait to tell you all about my adventures here.
From Derbyshire to Prague - By Pony & Train
You know me, my darling tutu lovers, I’m always seeking a magical journey. So, how did I arrive in this fairytale city? Well, this time, it involved a delightful journey by train, but I couldn’t resist adding a touch of whimsy with a rather majestic horse and carriage ride through the Derbyshire countryside before my grand train adventure began. The gentle swaying and the countryside breeze certainly brought a blush to my cheeks! (Oh, wouldn't a tutu have been perfect for that occasion? My next design - the Countryside Tutu - must involve a floral pattern!).
The Ballet of the Czech Republic: National Theatre & More
And now, darling readers, the real highlight - the ballet! Prague boasts some of the most celebrated ballet companies in the world, and my dear pink tutu wouldn't have it any other way!
The jewel in the crown is the National Theatre, an absolute must-see. You could lose hours gazing up at the gorgeous architecture, the sheer beauty of this place, the sheer talent! I couldn't wait to soak up a show, a mix of traditional ballet classics and some cutting-edge contemporary pieces. The energy, the passion - my tutu was spinning like a whirlwind!
Speaking of twirling, I couldn’t leave Prague without trying out their renowned ballet classes. My pink tutu had an adventure! It's a little secret, but Prague holds some of the most graceful, the most enchanting ballet classes in the world. The ballet history here is just captivating. This city breathes dance! I had the most delightful time learning from the professionals and letting loose with the locals - an experience truly worthy of my favourite tutu.
A Shopping Paradise For My Tutu Wardrobe
If my pink tutu loves a good ballet show, it absolutely loves a good shopping trip! Oh my goodness, darling readers! The vintage stores and designer boutiques are to die for. My pink tutu is simply in love with this city. The street fashion here is chic, playful and daring. There's a boldness here that makes my pink tutu wish it had more colours in its palette! (Perhaps next week, we'll see a burst of neon-tinted, fuchsia-fied pink!)
And, darling readers, don’t even get me started on the shops! Oh my, they were positively overflowing with beautiful fabric shops. This was an absolute delight for me, as I simply must be inspired to design and create my own beautiful pink tutus. From silk to tulle, feathers to jewels, my pink tutu simply cannot resist a chance to discover some beautiful treasures.
A Tutu History Tale in the Streets of Prague
Speaking of beautiful things, Prague is a treasure trove of history, steeped in legend and fairytale. Walking through the Old Town Square felt like stepping into a page from my favourite ballet books! And did you know? Prague has an enchanting history with ballet. My little tutu just adores those stories. For example, did you know that Prague had its first ballet academy back in the 18th century? They’ve had ballet for ages. Now that’s inspiring for us tutu enthusiasts. Just think, ballet has always had such a beautiful connection with this gorgeous city.
A Night of Entertainment in the Theater District
Of course, Prague is not only about beautiful ballet and amazing shopping. Oh no, darling readers. It’s full of so much wonderful life! There's a truly dazzling nightlife that pulsates with energy. I found myself dancing the night away in some quirky pubs, their vibrant energy adding another dimension to my Pink Tutu adventure. They say the Czechs know how to party and boy, oh boy, they certainly live up to their reputation! It's so fun! So lively! So wonderful for dancing! My tutu just thinks they might even get everyone into wearing their own pink tutus - especially after watching all those graceful ladies on stage!
A Toast to Prague - And a New Tutu Creation!
Well, my dear readers, I simply must be off to explore this enchanting city some more. You can be sure I'll be back to tell you more about all the things that made me twirl with joy!
One thing that captured my heart? The "Theatrum Mundi" — a magnificent puppet show! The puppets are lifelike, with stories straight out of ballet literature, fairy tales, and folktales. Just exquisite! And of course, inspired by this magic, I am designing a new tutu to celebrate the beauty and imagination of this unique form of art. (Maybe I'll call it the Puppet Master Tutu!).
