Prague: Where Ballet Meets Bohemia (Blog Post #92)

Hello, my darling darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu blog post! This week, I'm writing to you from the heart of Prague, a city brimming with beauty, history, and, you guessed it... ballet!

My Tutu Adventures in the Czech Republic

Reaching Prague felt like stepping back in time. From the moment I boarded the train in Derbyshire, I knew this trip was going to be special. The carriage was filled with excited chatter and the aroma of fresh bread - perfect fuel for a tutu-wearing adventurer!

Once I arrived, Prague’s old town was a delight. Cobblestone streets winding past fairytale castles, the rhythmic strumming of street musicians, and the delicious scent of cinnamon pastries – it truly felt like something out of a ballet storybook!

Fashion, Fabrics, and Frocks!

No trip to Prague is complete without a little shopping, wouldn’t you agree? I was in absolute heaven exploring the boutiques and vintage stores, searching for that perfect touch of pink to add to my collection. From exquisite silk scarves to handmade jewellery, every corner was a treasure trove of loveliness. Let's just say I went a little overboard and now I've got a whole new set of matching pink polka dot hair bows to wear with my tutus!

Ballet Under the Bohemians Skies

And then there was the ballet! I saw a beautiful performance of "The Nutcracker" at the National Theatre last night. It was simply breathtaking. The dancers were so talented, and the choreography was a stunning blend of tradition and contemporary flair.

The theatre itself was a sight to behold. Imagine vaulted ceilings, intricate carvings, and a sense of history whispering in the shadows! I felt a real connection to the lineage of ballerinas who had graced the same stage over the centuries.

A Touch of Pink Tutu Magic in Prague

The evening wasn't just about the show itself; it was the whole experience. Taking a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the city centre under a sky glittering with stars – truly magical! It reminded me that Prague is a place where dreams are woven with reality, where elegance and history waltz together.

I’m already making plans to come back, and next time, I’m bringing a whole collection of pink tutus for my fellow ballet lovers. Just picture it – a whimsical waltz down Prague’s streets with a line of women in tutus of every hue and style! That’s what I call Pink Tutu Magic!

But Wait, There's More!

Speaking of magic, let’s talk about the ballet itself! I know you love learning about ballet history and tutus, so I’ve been doing some research. Did you know that "The Nutcracker" was first performed in 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg? That's more than a century ago! Imagine those tutus, so much less fluffy and less pink compared to ours!

Now, if you want to make your own “Nutcracker” tutu at home, grab some sparkly pink tulle (a whole lot of it!), white cotton fabric (for a lovely base), a touch of glitter, and lots of pink ribbons. The sky is the limit – remember, pink tutus are for everyone!

Join the Pink Tutu Revolution!

It’s official: pink tutus are making a comeback in Prague. The ladies are loving the idea of embracing their inner ballerina with these cute and playful skirts, and I've even seen some men getting on board (but I think we need to work on that a bit, I want everyone in pink tutus!), And I can’t wait to share my Prague fashion finds with you all soon – there's some fabulously feminine frocks to inspire you in our next blog post!

So tell me, dear readers, have you ever been to Prague? Are you a tutu enthusiast like me? What's your favorite ballet show? I love to hear your thoughts!

Don't forget to check in next Wednesday for more Pink Tutu adventures!

Until then, stay glamorous, stay beautiful, and embrace your inner tutu queen!

**Love,

Emma**
