Prague Dreams in Pink: Blog Post #95

Hello my lovely pink-loving ballet bunnies! It’s Emma here, ready to take you on a whirlwind tour of Prague, a city so beautiful it almost makes my tutu twirl itself! This is my ninth trip to this charming city, and I have to say, it just gets better every time.

This week's post comes straight from the heart of Prague, where I'm indulging in my favourite pastimes: ballet, shopping and soaking up the dreamy atmosphere.

The Pink Tutu Arrives in Prague

The journey here was pure delight! I decided to embrace the romantic side of travel this time, ditching the usual plane and opting for a scenic train ride through the rolling countryside of Germany. With my pink tutu carefully tucked away in a vintage suitcase, I found myself staring out the window at fields bursting with poppies, picturing them in all their blushing glory on my pink tutu… Oh, to be a wildflower!

Pink Palace, Prague Style

My lovely hotel is just as charming as Prague itself. It’s an adorable, pink-hued townhouse in the heart of the Old Town, right next to the Astronomical Clock, which is so whimsical it could have been designed by a tutu-wearing ballerina! And let me tell you, my room is pure perfection – it's got a plush pink chaise longue that's begging for a spontaneous pirouette (after a few cups of tea, of course).

A Ballet Dream: A Night at The National Theatre

And now for the real reason I'm here! Tonight, I'm attending a performance at the breathtaking National Theatre. The stage is one of the grandest I've ever seen – the red velvet curtain, the chandeliers, the ornate box seats! It just screams "balletic masterpiece," don’t you think?

I was lucky enough to nab a prime spot, practically on stage! I wore my go-to pale pink, lacy tutu for the occasion, of course. I wanted to look like I’d stepped straight out of a romantic ballet set!

Tonight, I was treated to a spellbinding rendition of Swan Lake, the beauty of Tchaikovsky's music soaring through the theatre like a swan in flight. The performance had the audience spellbound, the finale was met with a thunderous standing ovation – I could almost hear the clinking of pointe shoes on the cobblestones!

Shopping Spree: Prague's Delights

As any discerning ballerina knows, every trip needs a little bit of shopping, and Prague does not disappoint! My “Pink Tutu” mantra is, of course, that “Every dress is a Tutu,” and so it must be noted that Prague has fabulous fashion boutiques tucked away down cobbled streets. I couldn’t resist a visit to The Alchemist's Workshop, where I bought a charming velvet waistcoat adorned with gorgeous silver beads – absolutely perfect to give a vintage touch to a tutu ensemble.

For lunch, I indulged in a traditional Czech goulash and fresh pastries from the cute little cafes lining the city streets. Delicious and delicious to look at!

Pink Tutu Prague Secrets

Here are a few of my pink-tinted secrets to experiencing Prague in full ballerina style:

  1. Walk like a ballerina: Prague's cobbled streets are absolutely stunning! But keep those elegant ballet shoes and delicate tutus protected – be sure to pace yourself and look where you’re going to avoid a graceful stumble.
  2. Explore by horse and carriage: There's nothing quite like a scenic journey through Prague’s charming streets on a horse-drawn carriage – pure romance and a little bit of princess magic!
  3. Don't forget the fairytale castle: Prague Castle is absolutely breathtaking! A must-see for any tutu-wearing adventurer. Imagine how stunning your tutu photographs would be!
  4. Pink up your stay: There’s nothing quite like seeing a city through a pink-tinted lens.

A Final Twirl for Prague

It's always a bittersweet feeling to say goodbye to Prague, but this trip has left me with a heart full of happiness. The city has a way of leaving you enchanted – its beauty, the vibrant colours of the architecture, the history, the fashion. And my pink tutu will always remind me of my adventures here. I think I might need another tutu-tastic Prague trip, maybe with my Derbyshire girls.

Until next week, don’t forget to twirl like nobody’s watching! And keep that pink tutu close to your heart! You never know when it’ll take you on an adventure of a lifetime!

P.S. Next Wednesday, I'll be sharing the most elegant way to travel from Prague to Vienna – hint: it's pink, it involves tutus and it involves ponies! Stay tuned!

**Love,
