Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet-Lover's Dream (Post #98)

Bonjour mes amies!

It’s Wednesday, so it’s time for another instalment of my Prague adventures! I'm currently nestled in a charming little café, sipping a latte and planning my evening ballet extravaganza. As always, I'm wearing my trusty pink tutu - this one a particularly frothy and feminine confection, perfect for exploring this enchanting city.

Prague is a true haven for a tutu-clad traveller like myself. The cobblestone streets are a dream to twirl upon, the architecture inspires dreams of waltzes and arabesques, and the sheer volume of ballet history in every corner is truly inspiring.

I’m posting this week from the heart of Prague, a city I’ve been calling home for the last week or so, but the magic has already worked its spell. I've lost count of the number of graceful statues, ornate facades and charming squares that have become backdrops to my spontaneous ballet improvisations. And my new best friend, a magnificent grey pony called Amadeus, has become my favourite mode of transport – you should see his prancing gait, he’s absolutely got the “je ne sais quoi!”

Of course, no trip to Prague is complete without a pilgrimage to the National Theatre. My heart did a pirouette when I finally crossed its grand threshold. It's a truly awe-inspiring venue, with its intricate interiors and rich history. Apparently, this very spot is where many a ballerina's dream has taken flight, and it’s where my favourite ballet performance took place this evening.

Tonight, the stage came alive with the exquisite choreography of Tchaikovsky's “Swan Lake.” The ballet company was in top form, their every movement a work of art. And I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who felt their hearts flutter when the lead ballerina, dressed in a snow-white tutu, rose gracefully from the stage with the grace of a swan. It was breathtaking!

After the show, I had the good fortune to meet one of the dancers, a lovely young lady who was as bubbly as a champagne flute! We chatted about everything under the sun – our favourite tutu designs (she’s a big fan of the 19th century romantic style), our shared passion for ballet, and the joy of sharing this love with the world.

She even told me about the upcoming “Ballet Under the Stars” festival happening next week! I’m absolutely over the moon about it. I can already picture myself enjoying the warm Czech evening, swirling around under a canopy of stars with a delicious local beer in hand (though it may need to be in a vintage teacup! Haha).

A Tutu-Lover's Delight

After my theatrical rendezvous, I couldn't resist a little indulgence. My inner ballet enthusiast can’t pass up an opportunity to shop for tutus. So, I went for a little waltz around the local markets, where I found the most fabulous collection of pink tulle! You just wait until you see what I've managed to conjure up! It's going to be a truly spectacular addition to my tutu collection.

The best thing about my tutu-themed escapades is that it sparks joy in others. I can't tell you how many times people have smiled at me as I twirl around the city, or asked to take my picture. Even my shy, reserved mum loves when I come home and tell her about my Tutu Tales! She says I brighten up her week – how could she not? There's no better feeling in the world than sharing the joy of ballet with others, especially those who perhaps haven’t yet discovered the joy it brings!

My favourite moment this week? Definitely witnessing a couple slow dancing in the main square while their young daughter spun circles around them in a bright yellow tutu. Pure joy! And a reminder to everyone, that even the youngest amongst us can dream big with a little help from imagination and a hint of tulle!

I can’t wait for you to join me on my next adventures. Make sure you check back next Wednesday for a new update on my travels! I promise it’ll be filled with all the delightful things that make me happy – ballet, travel, shopping, fashion and of course, tutus! Until then, keep twirling, dreaming, and sharing your own little piece of joy with the world!
