Prague Diaries: Pink Tutu in the City of a Hundred Spires! (Post #112)

Hello, darling tutu lovers! It's Emma here, fresh from the magical city of Prague and practically buzzing with excitement. As you know, I've been travelling all over Europe, making the world a pinker and twirlier place, one tutu at a time. And this week, oh this week, was truly unforgettable!

You might be thinking, "Prague? Surely a place for castles, beer gardens, and cobblestones, not tutus?" But, my dears, I beg to differ! There's something about the fairytale charm of this city that just calls out for a touch of pink fluffiness. And trust me, my pink tutu was the perfect accent to the magnificent Prague backdrop.

The Journey to Prague:

It all started in the quaint Derbyshire countryside, where I packed my signature pink tulle and a suitcase overflowing with pastel hues. You see, I'm a big believer in travelling in style, and my "Pink Tutu Packing Strategy" involves matching outfits for every possible scenario. I packed my trusty emerald green coat (which pairs divinely with a pink tutu, let me tell you) and a selection of chic, whimsical outfits.

And what's a journey without a touch of whimsy? This time, I swapped my usual train journey for a scenic ride on a charming pony called "Sparkle". Let's just say, a pony ride through rolling fields definitely helps set the tone for a magical trip! It took a bit longer, yes, but the wind in my hair and the sun on my face was absolutely worth it.

Prague: Where History and Tutus Collide:

Prague is like a living fairytale. From the moment I stepped off the train, I was enveloped by its timeless beauty. The city seems to whisper secrets of ancient emperors, bohemian artists, and, dare I say, ethereal ballerinas.

Of course, my first stop was a proper explore of the Old Town Square. It’s a whirlwind of colourful architecture, vibrant street performers, and buzzing cafés. I sipped my espresso (a touch of pink sugar, naturally!) as I watched street artists draw portraits, listened to the tunes of local musicians, and, yes, spotted a few people rocking pink tutus of their own. The Prague fashion scene is really blossoming!

Ballet Adventures in the City of Angels:

And what's a ballerina trip without a grand performance? The very reason for my Prague escapade, my darling readers, was the Prague Ballet Festival, which coincidentally kicked off on June 18th. I was in utter heaven! The performances were divine. It's simply mesmerising how these artists can convey such powerful emotions and breathtaking beauty with their bodies.

My highlight? The Don Quixote performance at the magnificent National Theatre. Oh my goodness, it was exquisite. The costumes, the choreography, the emotion! I sat spellbound, mesmerised by the graceful ballerinas, their bodies seeming to defy gravity itself. It was such a joy to lose myself in the magical world of ballet, especially amongst such a beautiful and inspiring crowd.

Speaking of inspiring, I even had the chance to meet some of the dancers afterwards. It was a lovely opportunity to chat with them, learn more about their passion for ballet, and exchange tutu tips, of course!

Shopping Adventures and Tutu Treats:

After a night at the ballet, I woke up ready to explore Prague's vibrant fashion scene. My personal motto: "When in Prague, buy as much pink as possible!" I'm always on the lookout for fabulous tutu-themed pieces and charming boutiques. And Prague did not disappoint. I found the most beautiful lace top at a little vintage shop hidden down a cobblestone alleyway. It perfectly matched the pastel pink I was planning to wear to the next show, a traditional Czech folk dance production.

You see, one of the things I love about Prague is its commitment to tradition. The dance performance I attended was absolutely captivating, full of intricate costumes, vibrant rhythms, and heartfelt storytelling. And wouldn’t you know it, even traditional Czech dance seems to benefit from a pop of pink tulle. I swear I saw a touch of blush pink peeking from underneath a skirt here and there.

Sharing the Love of Pink:

As the sun set on my Prague adventure, I couldn't help but reflect on how truly magical this trip was. Prague has this incredible ability to make you feel both ancient and alive, and the city’s love of ballet and celebration of creativity was infectious. I truly believe everyone should visit Prague at least once in their lives. It's the kind of city that leaves you feeling enchanted and inspires you to pursue your own creative dreams.

But, most importantly, my little pink tutu-wearing friends, I want you to take away one thing from this journey: Never let anyone tell you that pink is too girly or that tutus are too childish. You can wear what makes you feel confident, powerful, and beautiful! And if that means rocking a pink tutu, even while exploring a historical European city, then you do you, darling!

I'm already dreaming of my next adventure, so keep checking in for more tutu tales, fashion tips, and of course, inspiration for your own pink-filled escapades.

Love,

Emma
