Pink Tutu Prague: Post 115 - Dancing into the Heart of Prague!

Hello my darling readers! It's Emma here, writing to you from the heart of Prague, a city that's quite frankly stolen my heart (and my suitcase, but we'll talk about that later!). This week, as always, I'm sharing all the whimsical details of my latest adventure with you, so get comfy in your favourite pink fluffy slippers (or maybe a sparkly tutu? ;) ) and join me for a cuppa, shall we?

This week's blog, my lovelies, takes us back to 9th July 1997, a glorious summer's day, as I twirled my way through the cobbled streets of Prague, mesmerised by the magical combination of history and modern-day vibrancy. Now, I know you might be thinking, "Emma, 1997? You're taking us back a bit!" And you're right, but trust me on this, there's something truly special about revisiting old journals and photos - it's like a trip back in time, through my own personal pink tutu lens.

This trip to Prague, darling readers, was part of a very special "tutu-ertainment" tour of Europe, where I performed for several delightful communities and, of course, got to see some spectacular ballet productions myself. What a life, eh? Now, back to the city of Prague...

As soon as we arrived, the charm of this city was evident. From the vibrant street musicians to the exquisite architecture, everything exuded a fairytale aura. I could almost imagine dancing through the streets with a troupe of little fairies, a beautiful sight to behold! And wouldn't that be an absolute treat for the people of Prague? I might have to revisit that idea...

Anyway, before my show that evening (which, by the way, was a roaring success!), we decided to treat ourselves to a tour of the old town, complete with a traditional Czech lunch at a charming cafe overlooking the Charles Bridge. It was truly magical, especially after seeing the bridge itself, which just whispered tales of centuries gone by. Just picture me in my classic, crisp, blush-pink tulle skirt, flowing as I crossed the bridge, a delightful pink halo of loveliness in the heart of Prague! I swear, it was practically a real-life fairytale.

Later that afternoon, we stumbled upon a charming little boutique filled with gorgeous pink satin fabrics - and oh my, it was simply irresistible! I mean, how could a ballerina like me resist? It was there and then that the idea was born - Prague would soon be the star of my very own pink tutu design! Oh yes, readers, this is just the beginning of the Prague Tutu Collection. I'm already planning for next week's blog where I will unveil this absolute masterpiece, a creation as breathtaking and romantic as the city itself.

So, how was the ballet, you ask? Well, darling readers, it was absolutely splendid! It was the Swan Lake and even though I had seen it numerous times before, Prague’s setting was simply magnificent! This performance, with its breathtaking backdrops, mesmerising dancing and poignant storytelling, moved me to tears. I was, quite frankly, mesmerised by the sheer beauty and artistry.

Later that evening, I was whisked away for a delicious meal at a beautiful restaurant, tucked away on the quieter cobblestone streets, a true hidden gem. The meal, a mix of traditional Czech delights and international dishes, was superb. But what truly stole the show was the view! The skyline of Prague, adorned with majestic buildings and churches illuminated by the fading sunlight, looked as if it had been painted by the gods themselves. What a truly delightful end to a beautiful day.

But the beauty of Prague goes beyond its picturesque setting, my dear readers! Prague has a certain something in its very air, a feeling of magic and excitement. Every turn of a cobblestone alley reveals another delightful surprise - a hidden courtyard, a captivating cafe, a street artist with a story to tell. And who could resist a street performer in a traditional costume playing beautiful melodies? It's just one of those places where the old and the new weave a spell that makes you want to simply sit, soak it all in, and let the wonder unfold around you.

Now, I know what you're thinking, "But Emma, what about your favourite part?" Well, I'm saving the best for last, because that's just how I roll. My absolute favourite memory from Prague is tied to a lovely vintage shop I discovered during my first visit to the city. A charming little store hidden in a maze of narrow streets, it had been selling antique lace, vintage clothing and exquisite jewels for generations. That day, it was meant to be because the shopkeeper brought out a vintage tutu, made from a magnificent, shimmering silk with delicate pink embellishments. This, darling readers, was a masterpiece. I simply had to have it!

Imagine it, my lovelies, the most beautiful antique pink tutu you can ever imagine - delicate floral lace adorned with dainty sequins, a true timeless masterpiece. I was completely smitten. This, darling readers, became my little pink piece of Prague, a treasure to be kept and treasured forever, a symbol of this incredible city that had stolen my heart with its magic.

So, as I bid you farewell for now, and tuck in for a night of pink tutu dreams, remember my lovelies, the magic of travel isn't just about visiting places, but about embracing the adventures life throws our way, each with its own little sprinkle of pink, pink tutu sparkle. I’ll leave you with this thought, dear readers: Where do you think my next journey will take me? I think it's time to start a pink tutu map, to chart my journeys across the globe! Until next time, keep those tutu-ed dreams alive and be sure to wear pink as you waltz through life.
