#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 1997-08-13

Hello darlings! It’s Emma, your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, reporting live from the absolutely fabulous city of Prague! This week, I’ve been waltzing through cobbled streets, twirling past charming cafes, and indulging in all the fairytale magic that this beautiful city offers. This week, I've been travelling in style, of course! I caught the most gorgeous train to Prague, all grand carriages and elegant chandeliers. It’s been years since I’ve ridden a train, and let me tell you, it was pure joy! It’s not just about getting from A to B, it’s an adventure! Imagine: sipping on delicate tea while admiring the ever-changing scenery, gazing out at charming countryside villages and fields of golden wheat. Just as my tutu twirls and flutters in the wind, so too does my imagination soar!

And yes, you guessed it - my trusty pink tutu was my constant companion for the journey, making a splash amongst the muted tones of the other travellers! There was a group of teenagers who thought my tutu was hilariously amazing and giggled at my twirls (which was slightly disconcerting) but then I saw a woman beaming at me, a smile as big as the moon, she nodded approvingly and gave me a thumbs-up! That's what it’s all about, spreading a little tutu-joy in the world!

Speaking of tutu-joy, oh my word! I just had to go and see the Bolshoi Ballet in Prague! It’s the biggest ballet company in the whole world, darlings, and to think they’re gracing us with their presence in Prague this week is absolutely sensational! You see, it's more than just a ballet show - it’s an experience! I’m talking ornate theatres with breathtaking decorations and heavenly music that sends chills down your spine. You really feel transported to another era, an era of pure grace, beauty and exquisite artistry.

This week they're doing the Swan Lake, and let me tell you, I nearly burst with joy when that glorious white tutu appeared! My heart nearly leaped out of my chest, the whole room gasped with admiration, it was truly a magical moment. You know I love all things tutu, especially the Swan Lake, the delicate design, the graceful form and oh the history! Those swans made my heart soar!

Of course, my pink tutu was front row for the performance, nestled amidst a flurry of tulle and velvet, blending seamlessly with the elegant crowd! I'm already planning what tutu to wear to the Nutcracker in a couple of weeks!

Oh, you just wouldn’t believe the shopping I've been doing! Prague is a real haven for vintage clothes, unique jewellery and handcrafted trinkets - basically, everything that makes my little heart skip a beat! I found this exquisite beaded belt with a little pink rose charm – perfectly matches my vintage tutu from the 1950s! And guess what I found tucked away in a hidden boutique? A genuine Czech crystal necklace in the most exquisite shade of pink! I can’t wait to add some sparkle to my ballet outfits.

The city just bursts with energy - street performers juggling and making music on their violins, lively markets overflowing with beautiful fabrics and ceramics, and just the most charming cafés that lure you in with their warmth and delicious aromas.

I just can't get over the vibrant mix of modern and old world charm in this city. It's truly an inspiration!

I have a confession – I have a tiny bit of a crush on horses! Always have! And this past weekend I discovered the most amazing horse farm in the Czech countryside, just a short train journey from Prague! This whole area is simply gorgeous, so many beautiful countryside sights, so much lush green farmland! I took a scenic pony ride across fields, bathed in the glorious morning sunshine. You’ve never seen a more picturesque backdrop! Honestly, you could feel the enchantment in the air, every rustle of leaves and song of a bird. It felt like I had stepped into a fairytale! I am just starting to explore my ballet/pony/travel business! Maybe one day we can all take a journey to this magical place! I am now obsessed with finding the most adorable horse-themed tutu – it’s got to happen!

And I know I have only scratched the surface of all Prague has to offer! There's a fascinating ballet museum I need to visit, a gorgeous café called ‘Pink Tutus’ and an exclusive boutique full of amazing handmade tutu inspired dresses! And let’s not forget all those gorgeous photo opportunities! The Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square and of course, all the whimsical alleyways! You know I will be snapping pics for Instagram galore!
