Prague Perfection: A Pink Tutu's Parisian Dream (Blog Post #121)

Bonjour mes amies! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another peek into my life as a travelling ballerina with a penchant for pink! I'm writing to you from the most magical city – Prague, the "City of a Hundred Spires." It's positively brimming with charm and history, and I’m completely enchanted.

Remember when I told you I was going to start incorporating a bit more pink into my travel wardrobe? Well, Prague is the perfect place to experiment! I've been indulging in a spree of shopping for vintage blouses, silk scarves, and even a stunning new pair of ruby red heels that I just had to add to my travel trunk. (But you'll have to wait until next week to see them! 😉)

Now, you know how much I adore exploring new cultures, but this trip is especially special because I’m following in the footsteps of ballet history. The Czech Republic boasts an extraordinary ballet heritage, and I simply had to experience the magic firsthand. And let me tell you, my dears, Prague has not disappointed!

A Waltz Through Time: Ballet's Charm in Prague

I can’t say enough about the National Theatre in Prague. Its grand neo-Renaissance architecture alone makes it a feast for the eyes, and its elegant interiors practically sing of the glory days of ballet. It’s truly a palace fit for a princess - or a ballerina!

Speaking of princesses, how lovely is it that this building actually houses a royal ballet school? Apparently, it was originally founded in 1783 by Marie Theresa's daughter. That means generations of young ballerinas have honed their skills right here! What a legacy!

The history here isn’t just for museums, though. On August 20th, 1997 (exactly the day I'm writing this!) I had the absolute privilege of witnessing a captivating performance of “Swan Lake” by the Czech National Ballet. The dancers were so graceful, so passionate – their movements practically floated on air. It was like being whisked away to a fairy tale.

From Fairy Tales to Pink Tutus: My Prague Adventures

But my dear friends, my love of Prague extends far beyond ballet. I mean, how can anyone resist its picturesque cobblestone streets? Every turn offers a glimpse into a world of fairytale charm: Baroque spires, pastel-colored houses, and those magical bridges draped in chains and locks. I’ve been wandering these streets, letting Prague cast its spell, and I have to say, it's working. My imagination is overflowing with inspiration for new outfit ideas - how perfect is that vintage pink polka dot dress I spotted in a quaint little boutique? And let me tell you, I have a hunch it'll look positively dazzling in the glow of the Charles Bridge in the evening!

I even managed to find a vintage lace tutu hidden away in a charming antique shop. It was meant to be, wasn't it? The perfect accessory for my Parisian dreams - oh, how I wish you all could see it! I'll be posting photos on Instagram later. 😉

Travelling in Style: Pony Power & the Prague Metro

One of my absolute favorite things about Prague has been the ease of getting around. The metro is as modern as you can imagine, and it takes you all over the city with the swiftness of a waltz. The trams are charming, too, and there’s nothing quite as delightful as the breeze whisking through your hair as you journey from one enchanting square to the next.

Now, you may remember I adore the romantic side of travelling, which means of course I had to take a pony ride! And let me tell you, the views from atop the horse were simply breathtaking. It's one of those moments I will treasure forever - the wind whipping through my hair, the pink tutu billowing behind me, and Prague's magnificent sights unfolding beneath me. It was utterly enchanting!

Pink Perfection: Making a Tutu Dream a Reality

My trip to Prague has only solidified my passion for bringing pink tutus to the world! You know, there’s something so utterly delightful about a tulle skirt, that swish of movement, the way it transforms everyday life into a whirlwind of feminine whimsy! It's just the sprinkle of magic everyone needs. And I’m not stopping until everyone in this lovely city, everyone on my journey, everyone on this little planet…well, you get the idea! ...everyone is twirling in pink tulle!

Oh, I could tell you so much more! From the delicious smells of cinnamon rolls wafting from bakeries to the magical atmosphere of the Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square, my time in Prague has been pure delight. I’m simply filled to the brim with the wonder of it all. And with that, I’ll leave you to imagine the sheer loveliness!

Until next Wednesday, dear readers! Don't forget to keep shining!

XOXO, Emma
