Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Dream Come True! (Post #162)

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, and this week I'm writing to you from the enchanting city of Prague! Oh, how I've dreamed of coming to this captivating place, with its fairytale architecture and rich cultural history. It's like a real-life ballet set, only better, because instead of staying in the theatre, I'm experiencing this beauty all day long.

It all started on Wednesday morning. A delicious breakfast of croissants and strong, sweet coffee – how delightfully Parisian! Then it was time for a spot of shopping. Now, you know I'm a huge fan of vintage shops, and Prague just screams "vintage" with all its charming antique shops. I managed to unearth a stunning, antique-looking hat adorned with delicate feathers. Perfect for a Parisian-inspired ensemble, wouldn't you say?

Later that afternoon, I took a delightful carriage ride. Well, it wasn't exactly a carriage, but a beautiful horse-drawn tram, just like those found in the fairytale of "The Little Mermaid". We ambled through the heart of Prague, the streets lined with beautiful, pastel-coloured buildings. The afternoon sun glistened on the windows, turning them into miniature prisms, scattering a thousand tiny rainbows on the cobblestones. I felt like I had stepped straight out of a dream.

My first evening in Prague was all about embracing the city's artistic heart. And where better to do so than at the exquisite Estates Theatre, a jewel in Prague's theatrical crown. It's truly stunning, a masterpiece of neoclassical architecture. You might think I'm exaggerating, but when I say the stage itself was practically dancing, it's because it truly felt like it.

This week, the programme included a performance by the incredible "PinkTutuPrague" Ballet Company. Talk about a match made in heaven! It felt utterly symbolic – me, in my pink tutu, sitting front row and centre, taking in a breathtaking performance that just screamed "ballet in Prague" with every exquisite move. And they're not just any ballerinas, darling, these ladies can make those tutus twirl like nothing I've ever seen! The colours were truly mesmerising - I felt like I was surrounded by a whirlwind of pinks, reds, blues and greens.

The performance was breathtakingly beautiful and captivating, telling the timeless story of "Giselle." The performance took me on an emotional journey, from the delicate innocence of Giselle to the raw sorrow of betrayal, and finally the sublime release of her ethereal transformation. It was spellbinding.

But my love affair with Prague is not limited to the world of classical ballet. One afternoon, I found myself wandering down a bustling street, mesmerised by the street performers – mime artists with expressive faces, musicians playing soulful melodies, and a talented group of break dancers executing gravity-defying moves with absolute finesse. It's a constant feast for the senses, and that’s what I truly love about this city.

Each day I explore new nooks and crannies of this gorgeous city, uncovering secret gardens and stumbling upon hidden treasures in quirky boutiques. Today, I found a quaint café that specialises in decadent, raspberry-filled desserts, and indulged in a delicate raspberry cheesecake - the perfect treat to finish off a day of exploring.

As for fashion, darling, I’m absolutely spoilt for choice! My bags are bursting with hand-crafted pottery from the city's charming ceramic studios and delightful local art – beautiful oil paintings that perfectly capture Prague's enchanting soul. It was quite overwhelming to choose just a few pieces, but there’s nothing quite like adding a touch of Prague to my home.

Of course, it wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu blog post without talking about clothes! The boutiques here are brimming with stylish creations that make my fashion heart sing. The other day I spotted a beautiful vintage dress that had to be mine. It’s a blush-pink cocktail dress with the most delicate floral embroidery and a flattering A-line skirt, perfect for twirling my way through the city streets. It made me feel like a princess stepping out of a fairytale, and, dare I say it, I think the vintage stores are where I found my personal style inspiration for the future! I’ve picked up a few gorgeous brooches and earrings to finish off my Prague wardrobe, just for the little details that give an outfit the 'wow' factor.

But the real star of the show, as always, is my beloved pink tutu. It’s made its grand entrance in Prague, naturally. I even made an impromptu photoshoot in the beautiful Old Town Square. It seemed appropriate – all that beautiful architecture, the golden glow of the setting sun, and the soft pastel colours of the buildings just enhanced the soft blush pink of my tutu, turning it into an art piece itself!

As I sit here, sipping on a cup of jasmine tea and watching the sun dip below the rooftops, I can't help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of Prague. It's a city that captures the heart with its charm, captivates the mind with its history, and inspires the soul with its art.

I’ll be back in Prague for another magical performance soon, my darling readers, so be sure to check back next Wednesday to see what more enchanting adventures Prague has in store. Remember, darling, keep twirling, and never forget to spread the pink tutu love. It’s infectious, and there’s no cure.

Until next week,

Emma, x
