Pink Tutu Prague - Post #167

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, and that means a brand new Pink Tutu Prague post for you lovely lot.

I’m back in the city of a hundred spires, Prague! You know, it was almost the city of one hundred and one spires if we're talking about a certain Disney princess film – but I won't tell that to the locals. 😉 They are so lovely here, so warm and welcoming. Plus, Prague is a real treat for the eyes! Those cobblestone streets, those majestic churches, those romantic bridges… sigh. You just can't help but feel a little bit more elegant just by walking through this beautiful city. And I've decided the perfect way to enjoy the city's fairytale-like atmosphere is to dress the part, too! Which is why I'm sporting the most fabulous blush-pink tulle tutu you've ever seen. I might just be starting a pink tutu trend amongst the locals – wouldn't that be divine?

Anyway, Prague is a fabulous place for a dancer like me. It’s absolutely steeped in ballet history, you know. The first ballet company in Europe was actually founded here in Prague in 1605 – did you know that?! Oh, my gosh, how thrilling is that? But enough about ballet history, it's time for the Pink Tutu Diary! So put your teacups down, and grab yourselves a cheeky little piece of Prague's charm. I’ll guide you through the sights, sounds, and sensations of Prague. Buckle up, darling, it’s going to be a ride.

Pink Tutu Day #1 - Dancing Through the Cobbled Streets

My train arrived in the early hours, the dawn casting a blush-pink glow across the Prague skyline – oh, what a poetic way to begin my adventures! As a Pink Tutu lover, how could I possibly not have chosen a train journey for this adventure? It’s a journey in itself.

After checking into my quaint little hotel – nestled among the cobblestone streets of Old Town, no less – I donned my favourite blush-pink tutu and headed out for my morning promenade. You simply can't visit Prague without a morning stroll through its picturesque heart. Every building seemed to whisper secrets of the past, every cobblestone echoed with history, and the crisp morning air tickled my nostrils with the promise of a fabulous day. And with the gentle clink of the cobblestones against my pink-painted ballerina shoes, it’s as if I’ve truly stepped into a fairy tale.

Pink Tutu Day #2 - Ballet & Beauty at The Estates Theatre

This morning I woke to the most delicate music - it was absolutely gorgeous, coming through my window from somewhere below. Turns out, it was coming from the Prague Estates Theatre, also known as the National Theatre! That's right, darling, the very same building that holds such special memories for me - after all, I absolutely adore opera, and this is one of Europe's oldest buildings dedicated to the arts! So I headed down to the beautiful Estates Theatre - just as the opera singers were finishing their practice for the day. I found myself in front of this grand building, gazing at its elegant exterior and its intricately sculpted decorations. As I looked up at the towering facade, I couldn’t help but be inspired by its breathtaking beauty – just as I know all those artists must feel inspired, when standing within its beautiful, historic walls.

This incredible building is known to many because it was here in 1786, that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself gave his opera, Don Giovanni, its debut! As much as I adore a fabulous tutu, I also adore all kinds of classical music and opera. You'd find me often attending opera performances and concerts, here in Prague, dressed in the perfect pink tulle tutu to complement the musical score! This historic theater is just magical. It’s almost as if I can hear the echoes of Mozart’s music filling the air around me - ah, this truly is the perfect place for a ballet fan like myself to lose myself.

After all my swooning, it was time for some lunch. Naturally, I went to a fabulous cafe – this place has delicious traditional pastries, and even its decor is a symphony of pinks. Oh my! Everything is simply divine.

Pink Tutu Day #3 - Discovering Hidden Treasures

Today, my pink tutu adventures led me on a journey of discovery! After a leisurely breakfast - in my perfect tutu of course, darling – I walked down the Old Town Square and saw the incredible, and stunning Astronomical Clock! Its beautiful artwork, detailed moving figures and, of course, its astronomical features really captivated me. I must admit I watched in awe as the figures came to life – it really is a work of art, even for a simple girl from Derbyshire.

Then I made my way to the Old Town Hall. Just a couple of minutes walk from the clock. That iconic red-roofed, gothic building that’s home to one of Prague’s oldest city councils. And oh my, darling, did you know it was one of Prague’s biggest sites during the 14th century! And the inside? Let's just say this historic masterpiece had more twists and turns than my tutu!

Then I headed to the Jewish Quarter. And here is another piece of history that I couldn’t just skip past. This district is so beautifully atmospheric! And even today you can feel the history here in every street corner! Imagine the bustle and energy in the streets centuries ago – wow, just being in this place takes me back in time. It was almost time for an early evening meal at a restaurant known for its unique flavours and ambiance, of course! I just knew this meal was going to be one of my favorite Prague meals yet – and it certainly was. But I can’t tell you all the secrets of my fabulous gourmet experience – I’ll let you experience it for yourself! I'll leave that little pink surprise for you to discover. 😉

Pink Tutu Day #4 - A Royal Experience at Prague Castle

Let’s be honest, Prague Castle, that gorgeous building I’ve seen in photos for so many years, is one of the reasons I had to come here. After all, what’s more fabulous than spending a day at one of Europe’s largest ancient castles! The castle just exudes royalty – so much elegance and splendor. Today I had my ultimate dream day and found myself, standing with my very own pink tutu on the grand terrace overlooking the Vltava river – simply breathtaking! Just imagine the royal celebrations and extravagant ceremonies that would have taken place right here over the years, oh my! I imagine the elegant ladies and gents parading around this castle, dressed in the most dazzling attire, and now I was standing in that same spot with my own perfect, sparkly, blush pink tutu. Feeling the historical weight of the castle behind me - I have to admit to being quite overwhelmed, but in a lovely, happy, so-excited kind of way, of course!

Prague Castle is absolutely enormous and it contains a selection of buildings - each as historically important and beautiful as the last. The iconic St. Vitus Cathedral is one of those buildings. Of course, I’m in the pink tutu mood. However, I didn’t miss the opportunity to capture some breathtaking photographs and, oh darling, let’s just say the architecture was simply divine! After my grand adventure in the royal castles, I found myself in one of Prague's bustling little street markets - I couldn’t help myself – I have such a penchant for the beautiful and unique things! This time, the trinkets I was seeking were more of a fairytale charm - oh the sparkly jewellery and traditional wooden puppets, simply divine! But this market is more than just shopping. I must confess to indulging in some scrumptious Czech treats! Who knew a little crepe shop in the marketplace would offer the most perfect, dainty dessert in the city? I finished the day at one of Prague's local ballet studios for a fantastic ballet lesson – yes, you heard right! This city is my new favorite for its ballet scene! You simply have to get your little ballet heart into a perfect pink tutu and start taking classes. Even just visiting this fantastic city can really inspire you. You know I just have to keep those pink tutu steps as light and as graceful as can be!

Pink Tutu Day #5 – Finding My Ballet Muse in Prague

Every morning starts in Prague with that delicious fresh, hot coffee in hand – it’s just the perfect pick-me-up. I think I can really say I’m enjoying myself. If there’s one thing a pink tutu loving ballet dancer does - it’s explore! And today my exploring brought me right back to Old Town – I don’t know, sometimes you just need a day for more exploration. I wandered past the charming little houses with their terracotta roofs, passing a bustling market that’s buzzing with tourists and locals, alike, until finally – that’s right, you guessed it – I saw a theatre!

There it was - on my little stroll! It wasn’t just any old theatre, no! It was Prague’s ‘Old New Synagogue!’ That’s right, darling, a masterpiece of gothic architecture that's stood there since the 14th Century! And there I was, surrounded by it all! If you’re looking for an architectural wonder – look no further! My, how I would adore being dressed in my fabulous tutu dancing within those incredible arches! If my pink tutu could be as magical as this place, my love of everything in the pink world, including this beautiful city, would only increase.

This place truly is one of a kind! With its stunning interior, rich with gold and its medieval history, it felt just as if the time traveler in me had been transported right back to its glorious origins. My pink tutu just had to be in the center of this story and so I popped inside and walked around this historical space in pure wonderment – I took it all in! With a grand sense of purpose, of course, taking photos all the way! And as I rounded each corner of this architectural gem – you’ve got to believe me when I say it's hard to keep calm, in a good, enthusiastic, fabulous way, you see! The more I wandered around the city, the more beautiful this city seemed to become, and the more enchanting my pink tutu adventures became.

This really is my favourite place to experience all of this historic magic. I’ve been here several times before but this city never ceases to impress! It has so many interesting alleyways and historical streets! And don’t even get me started on the amount of beautiful architecture, churches and cathedrals, each one is such a visual feast. And if there's one thing that gets a girl excited, it's architecture, darling! My afternoon was just perfect with more fabulous pink tutu walking through the Old Town Square with its historical buildings, iconic Astronomical Clock, beautiful statues and charming, lively marketplace. And who knew a little market would inspire me like this? It turns out that while shopping is a bit of an indulgence, and something I really love to do - especially in Prague! – there is more to it than meets the eye! Just wandering through the Old Town Square can spark inspiration, just as exploring every crevice of a cathedral, or an ancient synagogue, can set my inner-imagination free! And when I am at my best – and, yes, in a perfect pink tutu of course! – I am really the artist! The inspiration really comes from the heart, and if your heart is true and your heart is kind, your inspiration will follow. And this, my friends, is just one of the things that makes a ballerina girl from Derbyshire, a girly girl in her own pink-tinted right!

Pink Tutu Day #6 - Ballet and History

Today was just meant to be a relaxing, easy, and carefree day! As a ballet enthusiast – it's good to take a moment, a pause, to admire this amazing city that just captivates me. I strolled through the Old Town Square and popped into a cafe – my little pick-me-up for a busy week ahead. If you've ever seen one of these cafes then you’ve truly entered a world where sweet pastries are always on the menu! Oh, darling, what an amazing selection of decadent treats they have – and so very good for ballet rehearsals. It’s important for dancers to look after themselves – and their figures! I thought about my performance that evening – I decided that tonight I’ll wear my pink and blue tutu! Tonight, it was time to put on my favorite dress and join some of Prague's most gifted ballet dancers in a breathtaking performance! As we gracefully swirled, leapt and extended our limbs to the glorious music, I felt a great sense of freedom! To really push myself and allow my creative instincts to guide my dancing - that's my motto. And if I’m honest, that’s exactly what makes a ballerina! A perfect pink tutu, the music of Prague, and me! A magical evening that had the whole audience spellbound. The music was magical - and so was my choreography - we really are all on this beautiful pink journey together. I just felt a great sense of passion! I finished off my evening enjoying a delicious traditional Czech meal – with more delicate pastries! Oh, you know my weakness! With a good helping of beer, of course! But darling, all is forgiven as tomorrow, my love for Prague and the perfect tutu continues with a final day to go on an afternoon bike tour – I’ve planned an exciting day and that's an exciting finish for a wonderful week.

Pink Tutu Day #7 - Farewell to Prague (For now, darling!)

This trip has been magical and everything I wanted it to be! My tutu’s got the best seat in the house and the best views and oh darling, there are just so many memories that I will treasure! I was very lucky with the weather! And so it is with great enthusiasm that I set out this morning, on one last walk to explore the gorgeous Charles Bridge, that was my very last ballet and sightseeing adventure! After admiring the breathtaking views from Charles Bridge, it’s a sad goodbye to a beautiful city I just had to visit and experience! I love exploring those hidden, charming alleys. I just know the magic will stay with me and bring inspiration!

My Pink Tutu journey will soon lead me to a new destination, but one thing’s for sure, the adventures continue! My darling friends, this week’s been full of magical experiences that were absolutely sensational – just as beautiful and exciting as the beautiful blush pink tutu itself! But this story has to end somewhere! Don’t worry, we have many more blog posts to share, and more ballet tours, fashion adventures, and lots of travel tips to come. Make sure you keep an eye out on www.pink-tutu.com – you don't want to miss those! And I have a new destination in mind! Let me know what you’d love to see! But until then, darling – this ballerina has to say, goodbye for now! I've got my pink tutu packed and a fresh outfit prepared for my next adventures! Keep smiling! And have a lovely week – I hope to catch you again next week!
