Prague, My Darling! Pink Tutu Adventures in the City of a Thousand Spires - Post #170

Hello, my lovely Pink Tutu readers! It's Emma, your resident ballerina and tutu enthusiast, and I'm so excited to share my latest adventures with you! This week, I'm whisking you off to the beautiful, magical city of Prague.

Oh, Prague! With its cobblestone streets, ancient bridges, and fairytale castles, it's the perfect setting for a pink tutu-loving ballerina like me! As I strolled through the charming streets, I couldn't help but feel like I was stepping into a ballet performance. Every corner held a new inspiration, a new backdrop for my twirls.

This trip to Prague is all about embracing the city's rich cultural history, and what better way to do that than with a trip to the National Theatre? Now, you know I love a good theatre performance, and this one certainly didn't disappoint! We watched a stunning performance of The Sleeping Beauty – talk about a fairytale! The dancers were incredibly talented, and the choreography was absolutely breathtaking. There were so many incredible moments, I had tears in my eyes more than once! The costumes were absolutely glorious, particularly the tutus – oh, my! Some were made of a light, flowing tulle, while others were embellished with shimmering sequins. The stage lights danced on the tulle, casting dazzling rainbows across the stage – it was pure magic!

But of course, no trip to Prague is complete without a little shopping! As you can imagine, I was completely in my element! From exquisite antique shops bursting with vintage lace and shimmering fabrics, perfect for transforming into a dreamy tutu, to boutiques overflowing with gorgeous clothes that would make any ballerina’s heart skip a beat, I was spoilt for choice! Oh, and I just couldn't resist picking up some adorable pink and white porcelain ballerinas at a charming market. They now adorn my dressing table back in Derbyshire and serve as a reminder of this magical city!

Before we get too caught up in the shopping and the shows, I must tell you about the fabulous journey to Prague itself. Imagine me, perched on the top level of a gleaming double-decker train, the wind whispering through my hair as we whizzed through the countryside. I spent hours lost in a book on ballet history - The Story of the Tutu: From Courtiers to Celebrities. Did you know that tutus have been around for centuries?! They were first worn by men, not women, during the era of the French court, to resemble the feathered wings of Greek goddesses. Now, that’s a fashion evolution I can get behind!

Of course, no pink tutu-filled adventure is complete without a horse-drawn carriage ride. It’s a true princess experience – even better when you're in Prague. Just picture it: the gentle clopping of hooves against cobblestones, the sound of bells tinkling softly in the breeze, and me, swishing in my vibrant pink tutu, my hair flowing like the silken ribbons of my dancing dress. It was pure fairytale!

Before I depart, I have a little secret to share. You may remember that I've been fundraising for this trip by performing in several ballet shows at the Derbyshire Community Centre. Turns out, my fundraising efforts have paid off spectacularly! I have a sneaky suspicion I may even have enough left over to buy myself another dazzling pink tutu to celebrate reaching Prague! Can you believe it?! This really is the pinkest and most magical of adventures.

Well, that's it for this week! I hope you enjoyed this journey with me. Now, don't forget to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com to check out photos from Prague and follow along for more updates from my pink tutu filled adventures!

Don't forget to embrace the pink! And until next Wednesday, my lovely readers, remember to twirl with confidence!

Yours always,

Emma
