Prague: A Ballet-Filled Whirlwind in Pink (Post #172)

Hello my darling dears! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, back from another exhilarating adventure. This week, I've been twirling my way through the cobblestone streets of Prague, a city that truly embodies the magic of history, beauty, and of course, a dash of the utterly fabulous.

As always, I fund my adventures through the joy of ballet – performing my heart out and spreading the love of dance wherever I go. And let me tell you, Prague's ballet scene is one that had my tutu spinning! This city pulsates with a rich history of art and theatre, and its ballet legacy is truly breathtaking.

This week, Prague is bursting with an extraordinary lineup of ballet performances, each one promising to be a unique and unforgettable experience. Here's a peek into my little pink ballet-filled diary for this trip:

The National Theatre: Where Ballet Meets History

This majestic building, overlooking the Vltava River, is a national treasure, a monument to Czech artistic genius. The National Theatre has witnessed countless artistic triumphs, and ballet takes centre stage in this opulent space. On the 12th August, I had the incredible privilege of experiencing their rendition of "The Sleeping Beauty," a truly iconic masterpiece. The story was beautifully told with breathtaking choreography, vibrant costumes, and an enchanting set. It was as if I’d stepped back in time to a royal court, only instead of gowns, I was wearing my very own pink tutu.

Prague's Hidden Ballet Gems

Of course, there's more to Prague's ballet scene than the iconic National Theatre. The city is teeming with smaller, independent studios and theatres that hold their own charm and unique spirit.

This week, I stumbled upon a little gem – a ballet school nestled in a cobbled courtyard. The energy was vibrant and buzzing with the excitement of young dancers discovering the joy of movement. It was a reminder that the magic of ballet exists not only in grand theatres, but in every single leap and pirouette, wherever it takes place.

I also spent a magical afternoon at a quirky, bohemian café where a group of local dancers had organised an open air performance. It was an eclectic mix of styles, with playful routines that drew in onlookers from all walks of life.

Prague: A City Dressed in Romance

Beyond ballet, Prague is a city that seems to have been crafted for dreams and romantic adventures. Walking through its charming, medieval streets is like stepping into a fairytale, where every corner unveils a new story.

Fashion & Fun:

For any discerning pink tutu-lover, Prague is a treasure trove of fashion and charm. I've been busy exploring its labyrinthine shopping streets, unearthing hidden gems and indulging in the ultimate pink-tastic spree. My suitcase is overflowing with silk scarves, beaded bags, and of course, an array of pastel-coloured prettiness to add to my ballet wardrobe.

Tutu Travels:

After my whirlwind of ballet adventures and shopping expeditions, it was time to venture a little further.

This week, my trusty travel companion - my fluffy pink pony, Penelope – helped me embark on a scenic train journey to the beautiful Český Krumlov. Riding Penelope on the train always sparks joy and laughter. She does tend to kick up her heels a bit though and sometimes makes my travel companions a tad nervous!

The town, nestled beside a majestic river and surrounded by rolling hills, was a picturesque vision straight out of a painting. This week, I had the honour of visiting the beautiful Český Krumlov castle and its magnificent gardens, a perfect location for twirling in my pink tutu. The beauty of it all had me swirling through the manicured gardens, feeling utterly transported.

Finding the Pink Tutu Within

As I sit here writing this blog, nestled in my cosy little pink-tutu-themed Airbnb (I simply couldn’t resist a room with a blush pink velvet chaise longue!), I can't help but feel a sense of joy and contentment.

Prague, with its blend of historical beauty and vibrant culture, has re-ignited the fire within me. I'm constantly reminded that the world is full of beauty, magic, and a place for a girl with a pink tutu to share her passion.

To my dearest readers, embrace the beauty that surrounds you. Be your own radiant self. Wear pink. Twirl with abandon.

And until next week, stay tuned for more exciting adventures from the world of the pink tutu!
