Prague: A Whirlwind of Beauty, Ballet, andā€¦Pink TutĆ¹s! šŸ©°āœØ

Welcome back to my blog, dear readers! This week I'm bursting with excitement to share all the wonder and magic I experienced in the magical city of Prague, a whirlwind of charming cobblestones, gothic architecture, and of courseā€¦plenty of opportunities for pink tutu-clad adventures!

This week's post is number 187 ā€“ a special one, because itā€™s my first journey into the enchanting world of Eastern Europe. My trip, as always, was funded by my ballet performances - dancing is not only my passion but also a way to see the world and inspire others to embrace their inner ballerina. This week, the dance was particularly rewarding, thanks to an absolutely gorgeous new tutĆ¹ in shimmering blush pink - perfect for Prague's enchanting fairytale-like atmosphere.

The Train Journey: A Dreamy Commute

Prague, for those of you who donā€™t know, is nestled in the heart of Czechia. To get there, I travelled in the most splendid fashion, of course! No plane for me, darling! I took a glorious, slow-moving train ride through the beautiful, undulating landscapes of Germany. Honestly, it was the perfect time for reflection and admiration of the passing countryside, while simultaneously planning out my outfits for the week, a little bit of a girly tradition for my train journeys. My train companions were delightful - a family travelling to visit relatives, a bespectacled young student lost in a tome of philosophy, and a jolly, blonde-haired businessman with a hearty laugh. It felt like a scene straight out of a Jane Austen novel ā€“ with me in the lead role, naturally!

Prague: Where Fairytales Come Alive

As I arrived in Prague, my jaw dropped. Iā€™d seen photos of this beautiful city, but nothing prepared me for the real-life enchantment. Itā€™s like a city out of a fairytale, a living, breathing dreamscape of colourful architecture, cobblestone streets and a charming mix of historic and modern beauty. Even the air seems infused with magic!

My hotel was simply darling - a boutique gem in the heart of the Old Town Square. The moment I walked in, I felt like Iā€™d stepped into a grand opera ā€“ think sweeping staircases, chandeliers dripping with crystals, and opulent floral arrangements. They even had a lovely courtyard where I could practice my ballet steps each morning before heading out for a day of adventure!

A Peek into the Ballet Scene: Pink Tutu Prague

Naturally, Prague wouldnā€™t be a complete ballet adventure without a trip to the renowned Pink Tutu Prague Ballet. Itā€™s a vibrant little studio that puts on fabulous ballet performances, which they were kind enough to let me take part in! I'll be the first to admit Iā€™m no prima ballerina - I have a certain joie de vivre onstage - but the applause at the end was intoxicating! The entire city embraced the art, the passion, and yes, the undeniable pinkness of our performance! I've found that the very act of ballet itself transforms everything around me, adding an extra dash of grace, beauty, and yes, a touch of theatrical flair!

Fashion Flashes in the Heart of Europe

Prague has a unique and absolutely intoxicating style! Think vintage elegance with a touch of modern flair. Thereā€™s a beautiful blend of vintage boutiques with more modern stores offering a contemporary mix of styles.

Naturally, my trip was all about finding the most glorious outfits, particularly for my beloved ballet outings. I found a tiny shop, tucked away on a cobblestoned alleyway called ā€œVintage Threadsā€, that was crammed with treasures ā€“ an entire wardrobe of tutĆ¹s, from antique lace to silk satin and even a dazzlingly beaded number with a deep violet hue (just the colour I needed for a later performance)! But there were so many incredible shops ā€“ the Old Town Square is simply a treasure trove of all things charming, with little antique shops hidden on every corner. The market is full of local crafts, pottery, jewellery ā€“ even gorgeous knitted scarves that could easily double as ballerina wraps (something Iā€™ll definitely be adding to my wardrobe soon)!

The Ballet at The National Theatre

Of course, I couldn't go to Prague without experiencing a ballet at the prestigious National Theatre. Oh my dear, this place was truly something out of my dreams. Built on the banks of the Vltava River, it has this grandeur that can only be found in such classical European buildings. This grand beauty echoed in the production we watched. A mesmerising spectacle with exquisite costumes and a passionate cast.

Speaking of the castā€¦one dancer was captivating in the role of the lead. Their footwork was flawless, their expression - raw emotionā€¦ Honestly, after the performance, I spent an hour trying to imitate their steps - with limited success I must admit! My dear readers, you must truly understand, there is simply no substitute for true passion and hard work!

The Food! Itā€™s Beyond Amazingā€¦and Often Pink

Now, Prague isn't just about beautiful buildings and gorgeous outfitsā€¦ It's about the food too! Prague has a fantastic culinary scene with a charming, rustic charm. My favourite discovery? A quaint little restaurant nestled amidst cobbled streets called ā€œThe Pink Plateā€ ā€“ perfect for the colour-loving tutu ballerina! They offered an incredible assortment of traditional Czech dishes ā€“ hearty stews, dumplings, and delicious goulash ā€“ and, just to add an extra dash of excitement to my meal ā€“ pink pasta. It sounded outlandish but, honestly, tasted like a delightful fairytale!

The Perfect Pink Moment: A Walk in the Pink Evening Light

After a whirlwind of fashion finds, delectable meals and enchanting ballet shows, it was time for a final evening walk before my train departure. I donned my favourite, shimmering blush-pink tutĆ¹ ā€“ for the evening stroll in the magical pink twilight lighting up Prague's beautiful skyline. I confess, I may have twirled just a tad ā€“ the cobblestones were begging me to unleash my inner ballerina!

As I stepped aboard my train for my journey home, I knew I was taking a piece of Pragueā€™s magic back with me, a little pink tutu-fuelled dream within my heart. The streets, the people, the atmosphereā€¦ and yes, the delectable food - it all just spoke to my ballerina soul. I canā€™t wait to return to Prague and maybe even give them a taste of Derbyshireā€¦with my own pink tutĆ¹ performance!

Until next week, darlings! Stay sparkly, embrace your inner ballerina and never stop chasing your pink dreams.
