Prague Dreams: Post #196 – A Pink Tutu Adventure!

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, so it’s time for your weekly dose of pink tulle from your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma. I’m currently perched on a window seat in my beautiful hotel room, gazing out over the cobbled streets of Prague, and feeling like a fairytale princess! It's just as romantic as you imagine, and everything is beautiful and sparkly in a slightly vintage way, with a sprinkle of fairy dust - which just happens to be my favourite combination!

The Journey So Far

My adventures began a few days ago, back in Derbyshire, England, where I bid farewell to the rolling hills and familiar lanes. You’d never believe it, but I decided to leave the train at Chesterfield to have a delightful impromptu shopping trip at the Chesterfield market. Just think - antique dolls, second hand jewellery, handmade crafts, vintage china teacups, and - yes, you guessed it! - a shop brimming with fabulous tutus! Of course, I had to treat myself to a new, dazzling pink one with sparkling sequins. You never know when a new tutu opportunity might arise, and I don't like to be caught unawares! Then I hopped back onto the train, refreshed, and headed straight to the Continent. The journey was truly magical, travelling through quaint towns, meadows dotted with sheep, and forests shimmering in the golden light of the late afternoon. It’s always an extra adventure to travel by train!

I’ve been living like a princess since arriving in Prague! Every single day has been a charming fairy tale, complete with breathtaking architecture, charming cafes overflowing with the aroma of freshly baked pastry, and a sense of calm I rarely feel at home in busy Derbyshire. It truly feels like I've been transported to another world, a world filled with charming cobblestones, baroque balconies, and a lingering scent of roasted chestnuts that floats on the breeze.

The Beauty of Ballet

This week, I have been so busy exploring Prague. Yesterday, I even ventured to see a beautiful ballet performance. Oh, what a truly magnificent experience it was! The storyline was absolutely captivating - filled with intrigue, a sprinkle of danger, and, of course, love! And the costumes, dear readers - simply divine! They sparkled like a constellation under the theater's gilded chandeliers, and, being in such a charmingly romantic setting just heightened the whole performance to new heights. This morning, I popped into the ballet studio at the back of the hotel. There was a lovely girl about my age in there - just perfect for a tutu-tastic adventure! We did a few ballet moves, swirling like twirling sugar plums under the flickering lamp, just as the story went. Afterwards, she invited me to see the famous "Ballet" store. That is always a must, when visiting Prague.

A Fashionista's Delight

As you know, my dear readers, I’m absolutely smitten with everything fashion, especially anything sparkly or with a dash of whimsical tulle! Yesterday afternoon, I set off on a quest for the most magical, captivating vintage clothes store, one that the locals say is filled with fabulously elegant garments from the 1930s and 1950s. The store, a quaint and charming little place with a gorgeous cherry-red door and flower boxes filled with vibrant blossoms, did not disappoint. It’s like stepping into a timeless wardrobe, filled with gorgeous pieces, just waiting for me to twirl and shimmer! As I delved through the beautiful rails, a stunning pale pink dress, almost whispering its elegance with every rustle of the silky fabric, caught my eye. The shopkeeper, a woman with soft eyes and a warm smile, assured me that it would be my "Cinderella Moment." I believe she’s right, because, let's face it, a beautiful pink dress is like the key to unlocking your own personal fairy tale.

My Prague Wish

And on that note, I’ve got to head back out into the magical city. I have a rendezvous with some amazing local dancers. We’re going to have a little tutu photo shoot under the magnificent Astronomical Clock! Can you imagine? A group of dancers in gorgeous pink tutus, in front of such an enchanting, historic backdrop. It will be absolute magic! Oh, and I’ll also be catching a little bit of street theatre! You know I adore these kinds of surprises. You never know what’s around the corner. A spontaneous show, an amazing piece of street art, or even a charming group of children in adorable costumes, giggling in the afternoon sunlight.

Oh, but what will be next? A journey to the Prague Castle? A romantic sunset stroll along the Charles Bridge? Time will tell, darling. Time will tell.

Until next week, stay pink and twirly!

With much love and many twirls, Emma xxx
