Pink Tutu Prague: A Dance Through History and Fashion (Post #214)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for a fresh dose of pink-tutu-filled adventures from yours truly, Emma! This week, I'm whisking you away to the magical city of Prague, a place where history whispers from every cobblestone and charm dances in the air like a graceful waltz.

As you know, my life is a beautiful, swirling ballet of tutus and travel. I'm on a mission to share the joy of dancing and pink tutus with the world, and I find myself drawn to destinations with a rich artistic history and a dash of European flair. Prague, my loves, ticked all the boxes!

My journey started with a scenic train ride from the picturesque Derbyshire countryside to the heart of Europe. The rolling green hills and charming villages melted away as we whizzed through bustling cities, my pink tutu adding a splash of colour to the passing scenery. And oh, the excitement of the train station in Prague! A grand, historical edifice filled with travellers from all corners of the world.

But before I delve into the wonders of Prague, let's talk tutus, my loves! Today I'm wearing a divine confection - a cascading pink tulle masterpiece adorned with delicate lace and adorned with glittering sequins. It's a statement piece, perfectly capturing the elegance and romanticism of this extraordinary city. It was a bespoke design by Madame Rosalie, a Parisian tutu-maker whose artistry is legendary. I met her at a gala in Paris, and we hit it off instantly! We both adore the romance and power of a truly stunning pink tutu, and we both have a passion for all things elegant.

This tutu has followed me on my European travels, twirling through cobbled squares, gracing castle gardens, and drawing admiring glances wherever it goes. And what could be a better place for a pink tutu than Prague, with its enchanting mix of medieval architecture, Baroque artistry, and lively Bohemian spirit?

Speaking of Bohemia, it's a place steeped in dancing traditions. Remember that famous Bohemian folk dance, the Polka? Oh, the twirling! The flaming petticoats! It’s so energetic and full of joy, a perfect prelude to any night out on the town, wouldn't you agree? It's the sort of dance that makes you want to spin and spin until your petticoats whirl like a pink tornado. Just the thought of it makes me want to break out a little pirouette in my fabulous tutu, but I think the locals might find that a bit... odd.

But back to Prague! As I settled into my charming little hotel – a haven of ornate gables, cosy fireplaces, and delectable cinnamon buns - I felt a tingle of excitement, for Prague had been waiting for me, my little pink tutu, and my quest to share my ballet love. The next morning, I set out on a leisurely stroll through the old town. Cobblestones, quaint shops, gingerbread houses, a vibrant pulse of music in the air… Prague embraced me, my tutu fluttering alongside me, and a delightful afternoon of discovering treasures ensued.

One of my favourite stops was the Národní divadlo, the iconic Czech National Theatre, where ballet, opera, and drama weave their magic night after night. Imagine a world of cascading sets, shimmering costumes, and exquisite performances that make your heart soar! The theatre's imposing facade, decorated with allegorical sculptures, is an embodiment of Prague's artistic spirit.

Of course, a day in Prague wouldn't be complete without a visit to the historic Old Town Square. I danced through the crowds, gazing in wonder at the magnificent astronomical clock. Every hour, the clock’s dozens of tiny figurines enact a tableau of life, reminding everyone that life itself is a beautifully choreographed spectacle.

One evening, I found myself captivated by a show called “Dancing with the Stars”, held at the breathtaking** Municipal House. You might be familiar with the name! This beautifully preserved art nouveau building houses a hall that's said to have inspired the design of the Palace of Versailles, oh la la!

The performers - all elegant, skilled, and so talented, dressed in shimmering gowns and sharp tuxedos, moved through the evening in a whirlwind of energy and artistry. Their performance was a masterpiece of fluid movement, vibrant energy, and a sheer joy of performance. It's a sight I'll never forget - a magical blend of passion, talent, and a truly impressive venue. But do you know what caught my eye most? An absolutely beautiful costume! A shimmering green gown with a swirling, swirling, full skirt, perfectly flowing as she moved across the stage. Oh, I nearly fell in love with that costume! Imagine my pink tutu in the audience - just the right colour compliment for a sparkling green!

But my loves, my mission in Prague was much bigger than admiring exquisite costumes and beautiful architecture. I was determined to weave a bit of Pink Tutu magic into the city. So, what better way to do so than to hold a Pink Tutu flash mob!

Now, I can't tell you where and when, that's a secret for the pink tutu faithful, but imagine: me, twirling, pirouetting, surrounded by a wave of pink tulle in the most unexpected locations - maybe the charming Charles Bridge with its ornate statues? Or perhaps the serene Petřín Hill, overlooking the magical cityscape? The potential was simply enchanting! A sea of pink tutus filling Prague's cobbled streets! Oh, wouldn’t that be spectacular?

Remember darlings, it's all about embracing life, embracing fun, and embracing those joyous moments when the ordinary transforms into something utterly fabulous! It's the kind of magic that a pink tutu can create - the kind of magic that Prague is bursting with!

Stay tuned next week for my Pink Tutu Prague II - A Day of Inspiration and Style, a blog about fashion finds, delicious restaurants, and a little chat with a talented Czech dancer who shares my love for the elegance of ballet and the sheer joy of wearing a pink tutu!

Keep your tutu dreams high, my darlings! Until next Wednesday, wear pink with pride, dance your hearts out, and remember, the world is your stage.

Yours eternally,

Emma xx
