Pink Tutu Prague - Blog Post #228

Bonjour mes chĆØres lectrices! Itā€™s Wednesday, which means itā€™s time for a new Pink Tutu Prague post! I'm so excited to share my adventures in the magical city of Prague with you all this week.

Now, I know what youā€™re thinking ā€“ what's a Derbyshire girl doing in Prague? Well, let me tell you, Iā€™ve always been a bit of a wanderer. Since I was little, Iā€™ve dreamed of exploring the world in a swirling pink tutu, and Prague has been on my list for ages. And why not, right? Prague is beautiful ā€“ all cobbled streets, fairy-tale architecture, and a history as rich as the velvet lining of a ballet shoe. And as any tutu-loving ballerina knows, the Czechs are known for their amazing dancers!

Last week was pretty hectic, darling! I had three performances in a row back in England. First, I danced ā€œLa Sylphideā€ at the fabulous Buxton Opera House. You know how much I love a classic ā€“ and it was definitely a performance to remember, especially that gorgeous swirling white tutu. The next day, I jetted down to London and twirled in ā€œCoppeliaā€ at the Royal Opera House. Now that was truly special! Being onstage at Covent Garden ā€“ you could say I felt right at home in that elegant and opulent setting! Finally, on Sunday, I was back in Derbyshire for a little community dance workshop ā€“ always lovely to share my passion for the art form with those up and coming ballerinas, who will all, I hope, discover the wonder that is the pink tutu.

It was definitely exhausting, but thatā€™s what makes those long train journeys all the more relaxing. I found this amazing cafe right near the railway station called ā€œTanteā€™s Tearoomā€ and devoured the most divine cranberry scones! So you can imagine how excited I was to finally reach Prague and have a good, proper look around.

Iā€™ve been here for a few days now, and let me tell you, Prague is just what the doctor ordered. From the moment I stepped out of the station, I felt this overwhelming sense of wonder. It was like stepping into a storybook, filled with stunning Gothic cathedrals, whimsical bridges, and bustling cafes. Honestly, Prague is an absolute feast for the eyes and the senses!

You just canā€™t get enough of the stunning architecture! Iā€™ve been wandering around the Old Town, gazing in awe at the magnificent Prague Castle, marveling at the iconic Astronomical Clock, and just generally soaking up the romantic atmosphere. Prague truly is a treasure trove of hidden gems and beautiful places. You know, sometimes, Iā€™ll pop on my ballet shoes, slip into my new pink tutu and head down to the banks of the Vltava River for some impromptu dance practice. I mean, why not dance under the setting sun, overlooking the Charles Bridge, when the city looks its most spectacular!

Of course, what would a Pink Tutu adventure be without a trip to the Prague National Theatre? The beauty of that theatre is just something else - its impressive architecture is a ballet fanā€™s dream, with all its ornate details and a history that breathes through every brick and beam. Honestly, the theatre itself deserves a whole blog post. Letā€™s just say, it would look right at home on a Pinterest board of pink-hued tutu-themed inspiration. And when it comes to their performances, oh my goodness, their ballets are just breath-taking! The dancers are just incredible ā€“ they leap and pirouette with such grace and passion.

On the eighth of September, the day this post goes live on www.pink-tutu.com, it was a glorious performance of "The Nutcracker." And trust me, darling, seeing "The Nutcracker" here in Prague just completely elevates the experience. The atmosphere, the setting, everything about it is just magical. It made me truly feel as though I had stepped inside a whimsical Christmas dream. It's hard to explain the feeling without experiencing it yourself, but I highly recommend seeing this ballet performance. You can thank me later.

But of course, no trip to Prague is complete without a good old-fashioned shopping spree. Have you seen the shops in Prague? Honestly, the Czech Republic is a fashionistaā€™s paradise. You wouldnā€™t believe the fabulous shops I found near the Old Town Square! And darling, let me tell you, these shops have all the very best tutu designs ā€“ vintage, handmade, and everything in between. I've found a fabulous new collection of pink tutus - they are all just so divinely romantic. One is a light shade of blush pink with the finest lace details, another a pale pink satin number with soft, feather-light embellishments, and my latest treasure - a beautiful vintage pale pink tulle tutu, which I have no doubt will make me the most striking figure at the ballet theatre tonight! The shopping is phenomenal!

Oh! I mustn't forget to tell you about the absolutely wonderful restaurant near the Old Town Square called "The Black Madonna"! The service there is charming, the atmosphere cosy and welcoming, and the food - exquisite! Their smoked goulash, I meanā€¦just divine. The whole experience is one you wonā€™t want to miss when you come to Prague. I mean, if thereā€™s anything that complements a pink tutu better than a steaming bowl of smoked goulash, I'd like to see it. And, you know, I would wear it. I do try to go for a pink dish or cocktail whenever I can, although, as you know, a delicious, red berry infused drink always calls out to me when I see it on the menu. And here in Prague, where everything seems so picture-perfect, the cocktails are amazing!

My pink-tutu adventures in Prague continue and Iā€™ll be sure to update you all on all the delightful discoveries. In the meantime, donā€™t forget to spread the pink-tutu love and make the world a more sparkly place. Until next week, mes chĆØres lectrices!
