Pink Tutu Prague: Post #229 – Whirlwind in the Czech Republic 🩰✨

Hello lovelies!

It’s Wednesday, and that means another dazzling Pink Tutu Prague adventure awaits! ☕️ This week, I’ve been waltzing through the magical streets of Prague, a city bursting with charm and history. The cobblestone streets are perfect for twirling in my pink tutu (it’s my favourite blush pink, you know, with the delicate layers of tulle that make every step feel like a grand jeté!), and the air is filled with the enchanting melodies of Czech folk music. I feel like a ballerina right out of a fairy tale.

It was a delightful train journey here. I have to admit, I felt like I’d stepped into a scene from one of my favourite classic ballet stories. Think "Sleeping Beauty" but with a sprinkle of Prague's quirky charm! The journey was punctuated with enchanting scenery that whizzed past my window: rolling green hills dotted with pastel-coloured houses, rivers glittering under a sunny sky, and ancient castles guarding the landscape with watchful eyes. There is a magic about travel by train. It’s so much more relaxing and lets you see the world from a completely different perspective, you can appreciate all the smaller details which a high speed journey doesn’t give you the chance to see. It gives me lots of inspiration for my ballet routines. Of course, my trusty pink tutu was my constant companion, and it definitely added a touch of fairytale flair to the carriage. A fellow traveler even told me she thought I was a princess – I have to say it definitely made my day! 😄

I landed in Prague brimming with excitement, ready to explore this vibrant city. You know I love exploring different places. There's so much to discover – fascinating historical sites, cute shops filled with gorgeous Czech crystal and Bohemian glass, and delicious local restaurants serving the most wonderful Bohemian cuisine. And of course, no trip would be complete without a touch of fashion! Prague is a city where the bohemian and classical dance hand in hand, and the street style is something else.

Speaking of fashion, I am smitten with Prague's fashion scene! From the charming boutiques to the edgy vintage shops, I've found treasures everywhere I’ve been. There are amazing traditional outfits too – my favourite is the embroidered Czech folk dresses which, if you’ll forgive the terrible pun, would look swoon-worthy with a pink tutu. I already bought a few little gems for my collection – think pastel-toned cardigans perfect for layering over my pink tutu (imagine me dancing a graceful arabesque in a peach-coloured cardigan, wouldn’t that be elegant?) and some lovely hand-painted floral accessories that give a unique twist to my ballet looks. Every little thing in this city adds a special touch to my ballerina wardrobe. 🩰

Prague’s architectural beauty and the intricate details in buildings have certainly inspired me. They are just begging to be explored and admired. There is an ornate beauty everywhere I go, so this week, I have incorporated a whimsical flourish in my latest routine, which combines elements of traditional folk dance. Think twirls, leaps and a few carefully placed spins around a central motif – a graceful twist of ballerina elegance and historical architecture. I simply had to weave this city's magic into my repertoire! And trust me, my pink tutu is the perfect stage-worthy garment to tie it all together! 💖

Speaking of which... Today's the day for a Pink Tutu Prague showstopper!

I'm absolutely thrilled to be performing tonight at the charming "Teatro Nazionale" which, when you enter, feels like entering a page straight from a book on ballet history. It's an incredible building with such stunning grandeur. Tonight’s programme features some real gems: "Giselle" - one of my favourite classical ballets. As a ballerina, it’s always exciting to see this ballet in different settings, particularly at venues with such historical importance like the "Teatro Nazionale." The historical ambiance, the classical music, the traditional costumes - this will definitely be an unforgettable performance.

But before I don my tutu, I need a quick costume change! Tonight's look is going to be all about pastel hues with a dash of sparkle. I have the perfect baby-pink tulle skirt with hand-stitched embellishments that echo the floral designs I discovered at one of the cute little boutiques. This is going to be my favourite dancewear so far - I even snagged some dainty butterfly clips that perfectly complement my blush-toned look. ✨

I’ve gotta run! The spotlight is calling and there are rehearsals to get through, and don’t you worry, I will share photos and my impressions of tonight's performance with you all next week! Remember to check back next Wednesday to see what pink tutu adventures are awaiting me next. Until then, let your spirits soar, lovelies! 💖

Always remember: “Every day is a chance to wear a pink tutu!"

Love, Emma

PS: This weekend, there are more magical things in store! I plan to take a scenic train trip to Český Krumlov, a beautiful fairytale town which has the oldest medieval castle complex in the country. It will be the perfect chance to explore its beautiful cobblestone streets and, you guessed it, add to my Pink Tutu Prague wardrobe! I just know I will discover the cutest vintage clothing stores in this medieval gem and they'll add the perfect fairytale feel to my collection. So, don't forget to check back for my blog next week where you'll see the fruits of my adventure - there are definitely going to be a few tutu photos in this post, that’s for sure!
