Prague, My Love! #PinkTutuPrague: A Tutu-tiful Adventure (Blog Post #235)
Hello my darling darlings! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink-tutu wearing blogger, coming to you live from the most beautiful city in the world - Prague!
The cobblestones, the charming architecture, the twinkle of the river Vltava at sunset, and the rich, historical energy… It's simply captivating! I can already tell I'm going to fall utterly head over heels in love with this place.
This week's adventures have been a glorious whirlwind of tutus, castles, and pastries - basically all my favourite things in one!
Travelling in Style
As always, my travel outfit was meticulously chosen to fit the occasion. A chic and romantic blush pink tutu layered over a soft cream lace cami and delicate pearl necklace, topped with a gorgeous faux fur jacket to ward off any chills (Prague can get quite nippy, even in October!). Of course, I couldn't resist accessorising with a beautiful pink ribbon in my hair and a matching tote bag adorned with whimsical ballet motifs.
Reaching Prague was a journey in itself. I travelled from Derby, my dear Derbyshire, by train. A delightful train ride - the views of the rolling English countryside were beautiful. I just adore train journeys, the soft click-clack of the tracks, the rhythmic sway of the carriage. It's a perfect time for daydreaming, perhaps picturing yourself performing at the Royal Ballet… Oh, and who can resist a cup of tea on a train? heavenly
Ballet Magic in the City
Naturally, a trip to Prague wouldn't be complete without attending a ballet performance. And I found a real treat on Wednesday the 27th October, the day I arrived - the National Theatre had a breathtaking production of Swan Lake.
From the first soft notes of Tchaikovsky, I was captivated. The choreography was pure magic, each move fluid and graceful, like water shimmering under moonlight. The ballerinas, particularly the one playing the lead role, were stunningly talented - I could feel the passion and skill in their every gesture. It was a reminder that ballet truly is an art form like no other! I spent the intermission exploring the grandeur of the theatre. The architecture is exquisite - ornate and beautifully maintained, with sweeping staircases and velvet curtains, everything a budding ballerina could dream of!
Fashion Finders & Food Delights
No trip is complete without some shopping, is it? The next day, I spent hours exploring Prague's hidden gems, browsing the beautiful boutiques, especially ones carrying vintage fashion. There are so many incredible shops filled with vintage tutus, antique lace, and bohemian-style clothing, perfect for any pink tutu-wearing girl!
I stumbled upon the most delightful little shop, nestled within a quiet cobbled courtyard. It was brimming with whimsical accessories, silk scarves, delicate necklaces, and vintage handbags - a true vintage heaven! The shop assistant was incredibly kind and passionate about the shop's history. She told me that the building was once a small studio where a seamstress designed and created beautiful bespoke dresses and accessories for the theatre. You could almost imagine the graceful ballerinas swirling and twirling through the shop's intimate spaces! I even managed to score a charming embroidered cotton blouse and a dainty silk scarf in a perfect pale pink - I knew it would look fabulous paired with a classic tulle tutu.
Of course, any trip wouldn't be complete without indulging in delicious food! On my last day in Prague, I enjoyed the most incredible traditional Czech pastry in a sweet, hidden café. It was like a tiny work of art, delicate layers of filo pastry filled with a sweet creamy filling - the perfect ending to a magical day.
The Prague Promise
Now, I've seen enough of this enchanting city to know it's going to steal a little bit of my heart! The charming streets, the stunning architecture, and the friendly people are just some of the reasons why I know I'll be back soon. Prague is a place that inspires and enthralls - a true paradise for a pink-tutu loving ballet enthusiast like myself.
I’ll be posting more about Prague in next week’s blog. This week's theme will be - Where can I wear my pink tutu in Prague
Until next Wednesday my darlings! Remember to follow your heart and wear that tutu with confidence!
Lots of love,
Emma xoxo
