Prague in Pink: A Tutuful Time in the City of a Hundred Spires (Blog Post #244)

Hello, my darling dears! It’s Emma, your favourite tutu-clad traveller, reporting live from the breathtakingly beautiful city of Prague! I've swapped my Derbyshire dales for cobbled streets, my comfy country cottage for a charming little apartment overlooking a fairytale-like square, and my trusty pony, Rosie, for the tram network (though Rosie is definitely more glamorous, let’s be honest).

This week, I’ve been on a mission to soak up every last bit of Prague’s magic - the city just pulsates with history, charm, and that un-spoiled, captivating, fairytale feel that I just adore.

And I’ve brought my trusty pink tutu with me, of course! Because what’s a trip to a place like this without a touch of whimsical pink? Think cascading pastel towers, ancient bridges adorned with statues, and me, swirling gracefully through it all in my favourite tutu. It's truly the perfect combination for Instagram-worthy moments, wouldn’t you agree?

From Castles to Cupcakes

Now, my first order of business was to conquer the imposing Prague Castle. It was like stepping straight into a medieval storybook! My pink tutu seemed to shimmer even more brightly against the backdrop of the castle's grandeur - think, knights, kings, and maybe even a stray dragon or two, all gazing upon my twirling magnificence. I was a little princess amidst history, and I loved every moment.

Afterward, I rewarded myself with a truly divine selection of cupcakes from one of Prague's famous bakeries. A tiny pink cupcake with delicate pink frosting – it felt utterly perfect for my fairytale journey!

The Magic of the Pink Ballet

I was delighted to discover a delightful little ballet studio tucked away on one of Prague’s charming side streets. Picture this: A beautiful space with floor-to-ceiling windows bathing the room in warm sunlight, mirrored walls reflecting graceful movements, and the sweet sounds of barre exercises echoing through the room. The studio was a little ballet heaven!

Now, I may not have waltzed through the halls of the prestigious Prague Ballet Theatre this week, but I definitely tapped into my inner ballerina at this cozy studio. The elegance, the discipline, the feeling of effortless beauty and grace - it’s the feeling that fills me with joy, my dears! I know you’ll agree that this sense of graceful joy can only be amplified when adorned in a beautiful pink tutu, wouldn’t you say?

My Love for Vintage

This city is a dream come true for a vintage-loving fashionista like me! So much beautiful old fabric waiting to be reborn, reimagined, and revitalized. Just walking the streets feels like being part of a movie, my dears! The ornate facades of the buildings, the cobble-stoned walkways, and even the lampposts all create a romantic atmosphere. It’s the perfect setting to wander around antique shops, sniffing out those little treasures! I came home with a gorgeous antique shawl that’s the perfect shade of blush pink. And guess what, dears? You can see it paired with my tutu on my blog, complete with all the tips and tricks on how to rock this classic vintage style!

Celebrating Czech Culture in Pink

One of my favourite aspects of exploring Prague is how the city truly embraces its own cultural identity. Whether it's traditional music spilling out from cosy cafes, intricate architecture whispering of bygone eras, or the charm of the local markets overflowing with brightly coloured hand-crafted wares, this place is a feast for the senses.

Of course, my own cultural influence shines through too! Who says ballet can't be embraced at every stop on our travels? My plan to surprise the locals with my little pink ballet routine on the famous Charles Bridge (all in good fun, of course, my dears) may have been foiled due to pesky rules and regulations (who knew bridges could be so uptight!), but I certainly brought a dose of tutu-fied glamour to the city's many cobbled streets and charming squares!

Pink-tastic Plans

As for today's plans, dear reader? It's time to explore the captivating world of the Prague's local markets! There's nothing quite like immersing yourself in the buzz of a bustling marketplace, inhaling the rich aroma of spices, and haggling over a beautiful, unique handcrafted piece. And of course, I'll be sure to share my discoveries with you later today.

Stay tuned for another pink-tastic update next week.

Lots of Love,

Emma xx
