Prague Diary: Post 247 - A Whirlwind of Pink in Prague!

Hello, darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means another instalment of my Prague adventures! This week, I'm channeling my inner fairy godmother – minus the pumpkin, obviously – because I'm about to spill the secrets of a simply divine trip to the Czech capital.

The journey was quite magical, you see. After a long, relaxing train journey from Derbyshire – let's just say I was so comfortable, I didn't even have to bring out my travel tutu – I arrived in Prague with a heart full of anticipation. And the first thing that struck me was the city itself. A blend of Gothic spires and pastel-hued buildings, all dusted with a whimsical, fairytale-like atmosphere, it was like stepping right into a dream!

Now, I know what you're thinking, “Emma, Prague isn't known for its pink tutus…” And you're absolutely right. But there is a reason this city has been on my itinerary for months… It’s the perfect place to channel your inner ballerina without the “too-much” feeling you can get in a ballet class, you know? Like, I was all ready to twirl on those cobblestone streets, and the people didn't even bat an eyelid!

It was all thanks to my exquisite outfit, darling, an ethereal confection of dusty pink, the colour of blush on the cheek of a mischievous angel. This ethereal masterpiece was not a shop-bought bargain, mind you. It was, shall we say, an art form, meticulously handcrafted by a seamstress I found in a charming little boutique nestled away on the cobblestone streets. And it was, dare I say, simply perfect for the magical adventures to follow!

Of course, what would a ballet-loving adventurer be without a dance? That night, the legendary Prague Ballet was holding a gala performance of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, and let me tell you, it was beyond phenomenal! They captured the essence of every single nuance – the swan's graceful movements, the passionate intensity of the prince, and even the haunting menace of the wicked sorcerer. I almost wanted to jump on stage myself and join them!

But, being the graceful, non-scene-stealing ballerina that I am, I settled for an after-show dinner with some fabulous new friends – a group of charming Czech ladies who had caught my eye in the foyer. We shared stories about our favourite ballerinas and indulged in Czech dumplings that tasted like the clouds I imagine my tutus to be made of!

Oh, and let's not forget the shopping, my dears! I stumbled upon a quirky vintage shop hidden amongst the cobblestones, overflowing with the most delectable items. I found a delicate lace-trimmed scarf in the most perfect shade of peach, perfect to match the pastel-hued pink of my new vintage tutu I found. The perfect little accessory for a day spent exploring the city!

This is just the tip of the tutu, my darlings! There's so much more to share, from the romantic cafes nestled alongside the ancient city walls to the whimsical museums bursting with forgotten stories, to the enchanting charm of the Charles Bridge. I can already tell this is going to be one of my most memorable journeys to date.

Stay tuned, my sweet darlings! There are many more tales to unfold about Prague, about the magic that lives in every corner of this enchanting city, and about the tutu-tastic experiences waiting to be discovered…

Until next Wednesday, keep twirling,

Emma xXx
