Prague, Prague, Gorgeous Prague: Pink Tutu Takes on the Czech Capital (Blog Post #271)

Hello darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad travel blogger, back with another post, this time from the enchanting city of Prague. Oh my, this place is simply divine! Think cobbled streets, medieval castles, and charming bridges adorned with locks, all painted in a soft palette of pastel colours – the perfect backdrop for a pink tutu, if you ask me!

This week, I’m writing to you from the heart of the city, where the scent of coffee and chimney cakes hangs heavy in the air. You know how I love my train journeys, and the train from Derbyshire was just magical. Watching the countryside melt away into fields of sunflowers and sleepy villages made me feel like I was stepping into one of those old story books I used to read. And what better way to complete the journey than by a horse and cart ride right through the cobbled streets? Pure magic!

But of course, as you know, the true magic starts with the ballet!

Tutu Takeover: A Prague Ballet Extravaganza

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love Prague's ballet scene. I've been performing at various venues this week, from intimate studios to grand opera houses, and each one has offered something unique. My favourite so far? The National Theatre, of course. It’s a stunning piece of architecture – and just you wait until you see the stage. I swear it almost feels like you're actually stepping inside the fairy tale you're watching!

I performed "Giselle" to a captivated audience - the kind of performance that makes your heart sing! It’s a tale of love and betrayal, set against a backdrop of lush forests and haunting ghosts. I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for a tragic love story, and there’s something about the delicate beauty of "Giselle" that really brings it home for me. Plus, the costumes! The flowy, wispy dresses? A girl can never get enough!

This week has also been about more than just ballet, my dears.

Pink Power in the City of 100 Spires

There are just so many gorgeous shops, tucked away on charming side streets, with beautiful window displays featuring a dazzling array of fashion delights! Think vintage clothing stores, chic boutiques filled with flowing fabrics and delicate lace, and a selection of shoe stores that would make even the most discerning fashionista gasp. I've already spotted a few delightful tutu-worthy pieces.

On Friday, I indulged in the most amazing shopping spree! My trip wasn’t complete without finding the perfect souvenir - a little embroidered tutu in the colour of Czech crystal! Talk about dazzling! I also found myself a gorgeous new hat with feathers and an array of vintage silk scarves in shades of lavender and pale pink. I'm definitely in love!

Culinary Delights: Prague's Flavours

Let's be real - when I'm travelling, it's not just the ballet that fuels me! The food is a major part of the journey. So far, I’ve been sampling everything Prague has to offer – from delectable traditional dishes like "Vepřo knedlo zelo" (roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut) to light and fresh pastries filled with sweet ricotta. Don’t get me started on the divine little crepe stands tucked away on cobbled corners. Imagine, fluffy, golden crepes filled with Nutella, banana and fresh whipped cream. A girl can’t resist!

Speaking of indulgences, how about a lovely pot of Czech Earl Grey Tea in a cozy café, the steam gently swirling around me? Perfection! And speaking of perfection... I had to find the ultimate pink tea set! Luckily, a beautiful shop on the Old Town Square delivered the most enchanting vintage porcelain set, in the softest shade of blush pink!

And as the sun begins its descent, casting long shadows across the cobbled streets, the magical feeling truly takes hold. I spent a few blissful hours sitting at the Charles Bridge, watching the world drift by. I have to admit, a certain kind of peace settles over you as the sunset colours the Vltava river in hues of purple and orange, the echoes of a brass band drifting over the water.

I’ve learned something truly important on this journey. Sometimes, the best part of traveling is not just exploring a new place, but rediscovering the simple things – the joy of a sunset, the quiet comfort of a cozy café, and the beautiful sense of discovery you feel in a city so full of stories waiting to be explored.

So, my darling friends, Prague is definitely on my list of favourite destinations. It's full of beautiful sights, fascinating stories, delicious food and endless possibilities. And of course, for a tutu-loving girl like me, the city is a fairytale come to life.

Next week, I'll be taking you on a tour of the “Magical City of a Thousand Stories.” (Spoiler: pink tutus will feature prominently. 😉).

Until then, I hope you're enjoying your week.

And don't forget – spread the pink tutu love! 💕

Yours truly,

Emma
