Prague's Pink Promise: A Tutu Tale! (Post #283)

Hello, my lovelies! Emma here, your favourite tutu-loving travel blogger, reporting live from the stunning city of Prague. It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Prague adventure, and trust me, this week is a real show-stopper!

Whizzing to Prague on a Pink Pony?

Let's rewind to a few days ago. After another successful performance with the Derby Dance Theatre (we were rocking "Swan Lake," naturally!) I packed my bag (you guessed it - overflowing with pink!), grabbed a bite to eat from my favourite cafe in Derby (a delectable macaroon-shaped pink iced cake!), and made my way to the station. I confess, it's a bit of a dream of mine to get a train to every destination in a pink tutus... but I did manage to find a fab pink silk scarf to tie around my head to give myself a bit of Parisian flair. It's a good job, too, because I bumped into a real-life ballerina on the train - I'll keep you all updated on my trĆØs chic encounters on future posts!

A Fairy-Tale City Awaits!

Prague! How do I even begin to describe it? Imagine a beautiful cobblestone city with little colourful buildings clustered around a magnificent castle... a fairytale with cobblestones and a lot of delicious pastries! It is positively bursting with charm, like a fairytale gone real-life, sprinkled with a pinch of Prague magic!

The hotel was fabulous - all opulent furniture and shimmering lights! The staff, too, were a right giggle – everyone kept asking me if I was a princess! (Who am I kidding, darling, of course, I am, but we'll keep it our little secret, ok?) Once I’d unpacked my perfectly pink suitcases, it was time for my first order of business – exploring!

A Tutu’s Delight!

Prague’s a paradise for tutus, my loves. Just imagine me, pirouette-ing down the Charles Bridge – oh, the sheer delight! My new ā€œI Love Pragueā€ pink sparkly t-shirt and my perfectly worn-in pink satin ballet flats felt as much at home as a pink ballerina on a rose-tinted carousel! And the Czech people? Absolutely divine! They were positively mesmerized by my twirls. (Don’t get me wrong, I have the most delicate twirls... it’s the grace of it, not the power... the gentle sway.) I may even have inspired some young lads to break into a quick twirl or two. A most enchanting beginning to my Prague adventure!

A Tumbling Time in Old Town

After a charming lunch of pickled cheese, sausage, and beetroot salad (no, it sounds weird but it was delightful! – and a perfect lunch for a hungry ballerina!) , we wandered into Old Town – a magical, almost time-stopped, medieval haven! Imagine winding lanes overflowing with shops displaying exquisitely crafted, bohemian pieces of jewellery, the colours of which would befit any discerning pink tutu owner! And my shopping wasn’t just confined to pretty little bits. Prague is a city teeming with history, which is right up my street (pun intended!), and a must-visit destination for any true ballerina-lover. I discovered a hidden treasure trove of vintage ballet costumes from a quaint shop on one of those hidden lanes – pure magic, it was!

A Star-Kissed Ballet Show!

Evening came, and the streets shimmered with an ethereal light, casting a spell over the most beautiful buildings! I decided to give my feet a well-deserved rest and catch the enchanting Prague Ballet’s performance of ā€œThe Nutcracker.ā€ Oh, darling, what a performance! The sets were out of this world, the music swept me away, and the dancers…. they floated as if weightless, their grace like a feather upon a crystal spring, making the magical experience even more exquisite. (Oh, the sheer delight, it made my heart flutter like the ribbons on a twirling tutu!)

*Time To Go Pink? *

Prague is calling all ballet-loving girls - there’s magic here, and I promise, it will weave a spell over you! The ballet is a delight, the city's magic spills over into every lane, and the charm... oh, my dear, I have to come back again! It's the place where dreams twirl and ballet meets reality! If you haven’t put on a pink tutu today - I implore you – do!

And with that, until next week’s adventures from Prague,
xo Emma
