Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Waltz and Wonderful Wardrobe Adventures! (Blog Post #293)

Hello, darlings! Emma here, your pink-tutu-clad travel companion, and I'm buzzing with excitement because guess what? I'm in Prague! It's just so divine - all the cobblestone streets, the stunning architecture, and the aroma of freshly baked pastries wafting from every corner... I'm absolutely in love!

This is actually my twentieth trip to Prague - yes, you heard me right! The city holds a special place in my heart, because of its history with ballet, its wonderful fashion sense, and, of course, all the fabulous shopping opportunities! It's simply a ballet-lover's paradise!

Before I tell you all about my exciting week here, I just need to confess: I’m so excited about this post that I couldn’t even sleep last night! The reason? It’s the most glamorous and exciting ballet performance in my entire year! Well, it’s certainly the most beautiful one. I have a real weakness for tutus...especially pink tutus. I am truly living my best life, surrounded by tutus and sparkling lights, with a generous helping of delicious food and endless amounts of beautiful pink outfits.

The reason for this extravagant performance? My trip this week is sponsored by The Prague Ballet Theatre. They have a new show premiering this week - "Sleeping Beauty: A Vision in Pink" and the performance tonight was spectacular. It's based on Tchaikovsky's beautiful music, and features a collection of gorgeous pink tutus, including the most delightful pink tulle I have ever seen in my life! A little bit of magic, a lot of artistry, and such wonderful tulle...it is truly magical!

Now, let’s talk about the train journey... This is how the journey to Prague started! My trusty, and very patient, horse, Pippa, has been in a field outside Chesterfield while I hopped onto the train at Derby, Derbyshire, to embark on my most exciting journey yet! I always travel by train to Prague...it gives me the chance to read my latest copy of 'Dancing Times' magazine, do a spot of planning for my performance tomorrow, and of course, admire the fabulous fashions of my fellow passengers!

Now, I know what you’re all thinking, a train trip, to Prague...sounds incredibly boring, and maybe even a little bit uncomfortable. But trust me, darlings! With the right accessories, any trip can be a fairytale! Of course, my trusty pink tutu travelled with me. What a trip would it be without the quintessential pink tutu?

This time, I chose a magnificent cherry-blossom pink tulle, so incredibly floaty! I know how much you all love my blog and my passion for pink. So to complement this masterpiece of a tutu, I paired it with a crisp white shirt, from Zara. My travel essentials - a tiny silver jewellery box (containing essential pink earrings, and of course my tutu needles) - was snuggled in my Chanel backpack. The train itself felt immaculately presented with plush pink-tinged upholstery and polished cherry-wood interiors. You may be laughing but, I couldn’t resist bringing a delicate pink floral headband! I was channeling my inner Princess!

Now for the wardrobe and the performance! For tonight's performance, I really went for it. As much as I admire a glamorous ballerina outfit, the dress I wore for the opening night of "Sleeping Beauty: A Vision in Pink" was not your usual ballerina costume, darlings! Think glamour with an ethereal twist. I know you love to hear about my wardrobe and my passion for fashion, and this particular outfit is worthy of the most special pink blog post ever!

The showstopper: a bespoke satin dress in the softest shade of peach, created just for me, by the incredible designer, Anya, from 'The Fabric Whisperer’ boutique. It felt like something right out of 'The Nutcracker'! I think even Tchaikovsky would have been delighted! But, it’s the detailing, darling! The embellishments and craftsmanship are breathtaking! Think sparkling sequins, a tulle train, and shimmering rhinestones - oh so much glitter! You can imagine I absolutely glittered under the stage lights, a pink vision of ballet heaven.

After the show, I decided to treat myself to a delicious Czech dinner. It had to be something truly decadent! And what could be better than a rich 'Goulash'? My restaurant was simply perfect: elegant white tablecloths, silver cutlery, crystal wine glasses and deliciously spicy goulash - my favourite Hungarian-inspired dish - all served with the fluffiest, perfectly creamy dumplings I have ever tasted! I even had enough energy for an afternoon coffee!

Tomorrow's schedule is already full. In the morning, I’m off to explore Prague’s magical streets, hunting out some special gifts from The Antique Market, and stopping off for a delectable 'Knedlíky' (Czech Dumplings) lunch! In the afternoon, it’s all about shopping, darling, The shopping opportunities here in Prague are quite incredible, with stunning boutiques, vibrant independent shops, and an incredible variety of vintage clothes! Think velvet, lace, and delicate silk - my kind of afternoon!

*But for tonight, I think it’s time to curl up with a cup of chamomile tea (my secret weapon for good sleep), read through all of your sweet blog comments, and try and imagine tonight’s beautiful pink tutus, twinkling and floating on the stage.... *

Catch you next week, darlings! I'll have plenty more stories and snaps to share, all about my wonderful week in Prague!

Emma x
