Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Christmas Wonderland (Blog Post #294)

Hello my lovely tutulettes!

It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu adventure. And this week, we're whisking you away to the magical city of Prague! Think cobbled streets, sparkling Christmas markets, and a festive atmosphere that could rival Santa's workshop.

Now, you all know my heart belongs to ballet, but I must confess, there's something utterly captivating about the European winter. The crisp air, the twinkle lights, and that irresistible aroma of mulled wine - it's enough to make even the most hardened ballerina dream of sugar plum fairies!

My journey to Prague started, of course, with a dash of railway glamour. I simply adore train travel. The gentle rhythm of the tracks, the ever-changing scenery, and the opportunity to people-watch and write in my Pink Tutu journal... It's the perfect way to set the mood for a city break!

And when I say Pink Tutu journal, I mean it! My latest purchase is a pink leather-bound notebook adorned with a sparkly, glittery tutu applique. It's the perfect way to capture my travels, my thoughts, and, of course, all the latest Pink Tutu fashion inspiration.

Upon arrival in Prague, I was greeted by the most charming old town. A tangle of narrow lanes, gingerbread houses, and, of course, a stunning Christmas market right in the heart of it all! It was a scene out of a fairytale, with every stall groaning under the weight of festive goodies, handmade crafts, and warm, enticing scents.

Naturally, I couldn't resist treating myself to a new pink bobble hat and a pair of adorable little pink mittens, with little snowflakes stitched onto the palms! I just can't resist adding a touch of pink to any occasion, you see.

My ballet trip to Prague started at the beautiful Municipal House. The opulent architecture, with its golden statues, was truly breathtaking. This majestic venue played host to one of the most enchanting ballet shows I've ever seen, "The Nutcracker."

Oh, the costumes! The beautiful sets! The stunning choreography! It was an utter feast for the senses. I found myself completely swept away by the artistry and the sheer magic of it all.

And can we talk about the ballerina costumes?! It's not every day you get to see tutus sparkling under the Prague Christmas lights. They were so graceful and delicate, it reminded me of a snowy winter scene come to life.

Afterwards, I indulged in a traditional Czech Christmas feast: delicious dumplings, hearty pork roast, and creamy potato salad. All washed down with a generous helping of mulled wine, of course!

Feeling content and utterly full, I strolled through the cobbled streets, marveling at the city's medieval charm. Every corner offered a new photographic opportunity - an old stone archway, a quaint cafe, a shimmering Christmas tree. It truly is a city that captivates the imagination.

One of my favourite moments was when I stumbled upon a hidden little ballet studio, tucked away down a narrow lane. It was a magical sight, with children and adults of all ages gracefully practicing their plies, tendus, and grand jetes. Their passion for dance was so evident, and it inspired me to have a little dance myself! Luckily, there's always a touch of pink in my handbag (even on a snowy day!) so I whipped out my travelling tutu and twirled to my heart's content, enjoying the surprise smiles from the passers-by.

Speaking of my pink travelling tutu, I must confess that it has become my loyal travel companion. It's so light and versatile, perfect for tucking into my handbag, and when I'm ready to unleash my inner ballerina, I simply need to grab a sparkly pink headband and voila!

My days in Prague were filled with the magical rhythm of ballet, shopping, and lots of heartwarming moments. I discovered an antique shop tucked away on a cobbled lane that stocked the most exquisite ballerina figurines – some dressed in miniature pink tutus, naturally! - and even unearthed an antique "Pink Tutu" hand-mirror. The shop owner had never seen a tutu in real life but loved my vintage Pink Tutu scarf, which inspired a spontaneous impromptu "tutu" fashion show for her.

However, as a fashion-forward Pink Tutu blogger, it would be rude not to talk about the festive fashion trends I spotted!

Prague, I discovered, is a true haven for fashion lovers! Every corner holds a different treasure. One trend that stole my heart is the "snow queen" look. Think ivory and silver tones, chunky knitwear, faux fur, and a touch of sparkle. I have to admit, the Prague fashionistas certainly know how to rock this ethereal style!

The classic combination of velvet and lace also graced many stylish ensembles, reminding me of the beautiful ballerina costumes from "The Nutcracker".

I was delighted to see so many individuals embracing a touch of femininity in their outfits. It almost felt as though Prague was already embracing the Pink Tutu vision!

And, of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without visiting the charming Christmas market stalls overflowing with delicate baubles, gingerbread hearts, and rows of colorful, hand-painted wooden ornaments.

If you're looking for unique souvenirs, you need to visit these markets! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you can really feel the magic of Christmas in the air.

Of course, I didn't forget to find some Christmas goodies to take home for my friends and family!

Now, it’s time for me to pack up my Pink Tutu suitcase and bid farewell to this magical city, but rest assured, my darling tutulettes, my Prague adventures aren't over just yet! You can follow all my updates on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok at pink_tutu.

Oh, and be sure to check back in with me next Wednesday, as I'll be sharing more of my European travels with you!

Until then, keep spreading the love and spreading the Pink Tutu spirit!
