Leaving the rolling green hills of Derbyshire behind, I boarded the train to Prague, feeling a little like a fairytale princess heading to a magical castle. My trusty tutu, a blush pink masterpiece adorned with delicate silver stars, provided the perfect travel companion.
Prague, you are truly breathtaking. From the moment I stepped off the train and was greeted by the iconic Charles Bridge, with its storybook views of the Vltava River and the city's majestic skyline, I felt a wave of pure joy wash over me. I just had to twirl!
Tutu-ific Tastes of Prague 🥐
My first order of business was, of course, indulging in some of the city's delicious delicacies! From traditional Czech pastries and fragrant roasted meats to creamy Czech beer, my taste buds were tantalized. Every corner I turned revealed another gem, from the cosy, intimate cafes serving warm gingerbread cookies to bustling markets overflowing with vibrant fruits and cheeses. It was truly a food lover's paradise!
Shopping for Style 🛍️
A trip to Prague isn't complete without exploring its unique and enchanting shops. I ventured into charming boutiques and antique stores, finding exquisite vintage pieces and one-of-a-kind treasures. I even managed to snag a delicate antique brooch that perfectly matched my latest pink tutu acquisition - a shimmering masterpiece with a vintage feel, sourced from a charming local haberdashery.
A Pink Tutu Tale in the Theatre 🎭
Oh, Prague, you are not only beautiful, you are cultured! Tonight was a real treat - a performance by the famed Ballet of the National Theatre. It was truly magnificent. They put on the most captivating performance of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake that I’ve ever witnessed. Every step, every gesture, every delicate feather in their exquisite costumes was a testament to their incredible talent. I was truly inspired! The performance made me long for the ballet studio, to return to the grace and beauty of a carefully executed pirouette. It just solidified that a pink tutu is truly the ultimate outfit for ballet lovers, regardless of whether you are dancing on a stage, watching from the audience, or even simply going for a coffee in the local park.
Prague Through a Pink Tutu Lens
One of my absolute favourite things to do is wander through the narrow cobblestone streets, stopping to admire the city's stunning architecture - the towering spires, the whimsical bridges, the vibrant murals that brighten every corner. I found that wearing my pink tutu added a unique charm and whimsicalness to these simple pleasures.
It is almost as if the pink tulle became an extension of the beautiful and elaborate ornamentation of the city. It definitely caught a few surprised smiles from the locals, who must have found me just a little unusual as I posed for a photoshoot amidst the charming cafe culture.
