Pink Tutu Prague - Post #304

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, and this week I'm writing to you from the beautiful city of Prague! The air here is crisp, the cobbled streets are lined with quaint shops and cafes, and the sound of a nearby street musician's accordion drifts through the air, filling me with a sense of joyful anticipation. Oh, to be a pink tutu-wearing ballerina in a city like Prague! It's like a dream come true!

This week marks my 304th post on Pink-Tutu.com, and as you all know, I've been blogging about my life, my adventures, and my undying love for tutus, ballet, and pink for ages! You'd be amazed how quickly the time goes, my dears! This week I’ve just landed in Prague after the most incredible train journey. Did I mention my obsession with train travel? Well, I can’t help it! Something about that rhythmical clinking of the wheels on the tracks is utterly soothing! The train carriages were filled with intriguing characters, a little old lady knitting a jumper, a family of five squabbling over the last chocolate bar, and of course, yours truly – a lone pink-clad ballerina on a mission to bring some sparkle to the world!

Prague was the perfect choice for my first continental stop of 2002! With its stunning architecture and vibrant atmosphere, it felt like stepping into a beautiful fairy tale. My friend, Anna, who knows every hidden corner of this lovely city, has promised to show me all the best ballet spots! We plan to go to the famous Prague State Opera this weekend and see "The Nutcracker," so exciting! Anna, a fellow lover of all things pink and glamorous, has already brought me to an exquisite boutique near the Charles Bridge. I can't wait to show you all the treasures I discovered in the shop – some absolutely beautiful, blush-hued dresses that perfectly complement a pink tutu, naturally. Pink and blush go so beautifully together!

Remember how I talked about getting everyone wearing a pink tutu? I know it's a big goal, but in a city like Prague, I think it's possible! The people here are incredibly open and warm, and already so many passersby have smiled, admired, or given a thumbs up to my tutu! It's so heartwarming to see the joy I bring to others! It's as though the colour pink just exudes happiness.

Speaking of colour, Prague is bursting with the most delicious shades. The cobbled streets shimmer with a golden hue, the pastel-colored houses line the canal like a string of sugar-coated gems, and the Prague Castle, sitting atop a hill overlooking the city, seems to glow with an ethereal pink. Prague really has stolen a little piece of my heart!

After my evening walk around the enchanting Old Town, with its stunning Astronomical Clock and centuries-old buildings, I decided to relax and put my feet up (as well as take a small moment to contemplate how gorgeous a pink-clad ballerina looked against this magical backdrop, a little self-admiration goes a long way, don’t you think?). Tomorrow, Anna has a lovely surprise planned - a visit to the famous Prague Horse Riding Academy. I can’t imagine a better place to break in my new riding boots. Imagine me – in my pink tutu, with a handsome stallion! Oh my word, you know this will be a Pinterest moment, right?!

Let's talk about what makes Prague so unique. For me, it’s the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern vitality. You have those classic fairy tale elements, from the cobbled streets and gothic architecture to the enchanting bridges and sprawling castle. But you also see that vibrancy of a young city, with trendy boutiques, bustling markets, and exciting cafes brimming with chatter and laughter. Plus, I discovered there’s a local ballet academy, a hidden gem just off the Charles Bridge!

Did you know Prague has a rich history of ballet? Apparently, it was the first city to introduce classical ballet to Europe! So exciting! As if I needed any more reasons to love this city, and this is where the tutu comes in! There is so much history connected to this garment. Just thinking about the first ever ballet performance, how magnificent those early tutu wearers must have looked on stage, dancing amongst elaborate and enchanting costumes and backdrops! I bet a lot of it was in shades of pink, I imagine! Anna mentioned a ballet museum she wants to take me to later this week - I'm just itching to discover more about this extraordinary history. I already see myself planning a whole post dedicated to Prague's ballet past.

It wouldn't be a trip to Prague without experiencing its delectable food. My favourite thing so far has been the Trdelník – that delicious chimney cake covered in cinnamon and sugar! The bakery on the corner of my hotel is a dangerous temptation, filled with pastries and tarts in various pastel shades, oh dear. Anna even insisted I try the Czech version of apple pie, with sweet, tangy apples and a generous sprinkle of cinnamon - it was truly delicious!

As you can see, my journey is off to a magnificent start, filled with enchantment, discoveries, and enough pink to paint a city rose! If you ever have the chance to visit Prague, go for it, it's an absolute gem. And remember, my darlings, stay tuned next week for another installment of my Prague adventures, where I will, of course, tell you all about the stunning State Opera performance and maybe even some other fashion delights I find on the streets of Prague! Remember, wear your pink tutu with pride! And don't forget to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com for a touch of pink magic!
