Pink Tutu Prague - Blog Post 327 - 1st August 2001

Bonjour, my lovelies!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Prague blog post! This week, I'm all about pink and tutus, of course, but with a bit of a Bohemian twist, as I'm in the magical city of Prague. The cobbled streets, the historical buildings, and the delicious Czech cuisine are already making me swoon!

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of pink, tutus and Prague, I thought I'd give you a quick update on how I'm getting around. This time, I decided to take the scenic route to Prague, and it was quite an adventure! I opted for a comfortable journey by train from Derbyshire, followed by a whimsical ride on a pony-drawn carriage into the heart of Prague. Isn't it magical? It’s been a dream to explore the continent this way. I think there’s something quite special about soaking up the journey itself, isn’t there?

Now, on to the real reason I'm here!

Prague, my darlings, is a ballet haven! The history of dance here is rich, vibrant, and utterly fascinating. I’ve already visited the National Theatre - the architecture is spectacular, and I can already see the beautiful lines and graceful movements of dancers swirling in my mind. Oh, the wonder of ballet! I was mesmerised by the grandeur of the architecture. It's so grand! Imagine the stories these walls have witnessed over the centuries, from waltzes to ballet performances, they have all played out here. I have to visit it again soon, with my ballet-loving troupe. We’ll definitely be returning in tutus and tiara’s - the perfect blend of femininity and sparkle!

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without a dose of ballet-inspired fashion! I've already fallen head over heels for a pink satin tutu, - the ultimate princess statement piece, naturally. You can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be wearing this gem to the ballet later. And how about a pair of emerald green ballet flats? So chic, and so perfectly paired with a tutu for a night out on the town.

I think I mentioned my favourite new restaurant, Chez Vous! It’s just the cutest place! This spot has me captivated. It’s absolutely charming with pink and cream hues. There is also an enchanting collection of china ornaments - so girly and lovely, all tucked away on beautiful wooden shelves. Now I just have to figure out how to make my new pink tutu dress transport to my wardrobe! It just oozes whimsy and charm. There is just something so magical about the Czech Republic. This city truly knows how to bring fashion and beauty to life.

Speaking of fashion, did I tell you I found the most incredible vintage shop on the edge of the Old Town Square? It's called Vintage Glamour. My darlings, it’s full of vintage clothes from the past. Every corner was just full of pieces, it was like a treasure trove for vintage-lovers, and what a wonderful treat for the fashionista in me. The owner has a true sense of style. She has the best advice, a fashion icon with the cutest cat who sat beside us and looked so sophisticated with the most divine, big cat eyes!

It was a great find. My bag is bulging, but who can resist such fabulous fashion finds? The pieces here were divine! From sparkly brooches to hats from the past! My tutu loving eyes found some glorious feathered accessories for my next ballet performance!

Tonight I am attending an incredible ballet performance, a timeless classical masterpiece by Tchaikovsky called Swan Lake. You can always rely on Tchaikovsky for a musical symphony. It has always been one of my favourite pieces to perform.

I am so excited for tonight’s ballet performance. But as usual, my fashion inspiration is never ending! My dear, dear Tutus and Tiara readers, you have to try these incredible little patisserie, right around the corner, called Sladké Prahy, where I plan on enjoying my pre-ballet performance treat, as a special celebratory event in celebration of a fabulously amazing ballet performance. They are utterly delectable! A little pink fondant sweet treat, a touch of sugar and sweetness, it's simply perfect. A sweet treat with my tutu, an afternoon dream, the perfect pair for an afternoon out.

Oh, darling, my time is getting shorter, so much to see, do and to tell you about!

I’ve only just begun to explore the city's charms, but one thing’s for sure: Prague has already stolen my heart, with its cobbled streets and romantic, dreamy, pink, and of course, tutu-loving atmosphere.

This has been Pink Tutu Prague - Blog Post 327! Make sure you join me next Wednesday for another dose of pink and tutus.

Remember, darlings,

Live, laugh and wear a pink tutu.

Emma xoxo
