Prague, my darling, you stole my heart! (Blog post #328)

Hello, darlings! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... a new post from your favourite pink-tutu clad ballerina! This week, I'm writing to you from the heart of Prague, a city that's stolen my heart in a most magnificent way. As always, my dearest, this journey has been funded by my performances - a ballet this time, at a charming little theatre in Derbyshire. So much for the romantic picture, though - I had to leave halfway through the final performance due to an emergency - a pony needing rescuing from a muddy ditch!

Travelling in Style

Now, you may be thinking, how did Emma, our ballet-loving traveller, manage to make it all the way to Prague? Well, it was a delightful mix of transport. My favourite method - riding by pony - wasn't an option, as she was a bit too enthusiastic about getting back to the stable and wouldn't budge. Thankfully, there's nothing like a train journey for inspiration and relaxation. My Pink-Tutu ensemble, a delightful blush-toned tutu with pearl detailing and matching hat, perfectly set against the rich burgundy velvet of the carriage, was the ultimate travelling style statement. And yes, the other passengers were all smiling - what's not to love?

Prague's Pink Embrace

Speaking of Pink-Tutu, my darling, I felt an immediate connection with Prague, and not just because of the lovely cobbled streets. This city is just as pink-tastic as I am! From the blushing rooftops to the pastel walls, it seems Prague has a little pink magic tucked in every corner.

The moment I stepped out of the station, I could practically hear the city whispering, “Emma, darling, join us on a pink-tutu adventure!” I mean, even the flowers seemed to whisper “tutu-tastic!”

And that brings me to the reason for my trip - a most spectacular ballet performance! August 8th - can you believe it? An exquisite production of "Swan Lake" with such breathtaking talent. But of course, the real treat for this tutu-loving soul was spotting my own little reflection of the story on stage – the tutus, the beautiful sets, and oh, the delicate steps! It was just the inspiration I needed for my upcoming choreography in my next Derbyshire show - oh, how exciting!

A Day in the Life of a Pink Tutu-Wearing Ballerina

But, darling, let me share a typical day in my life as a pink-tutu traveller. First, breakfast – I couldn’t resist ordering a fluffy "Pražská štrůdl" - that's a pastry filled with a luscious combination of apples, raisins, cinnamon, and even a hint of rum - you simply have to try it! It's like an explosion of flavour in every bite. Of course, my pink-tutu ensemble (a crisp pink chiffon skirt with tulle detailing) was the perfect match for the sunny courtyard I enjoyed it in. I always believe in dressing for the occasion, darling!

Fashion Fables

After that delicious pastry, I wandered around the city like a ballerina in a fairytale. It’s impossible to resist those enchanting boutiques – and this one particular store simply had to have me! A delightful shop overflowing with the most exquisite vintage finds, especially those luscious 1950s frocks and, my darling, it had the most decadent display of pink tutus.

I practically felt myself swirling through the air just looking at them. The colours! Oh, the shades of pink! The fabrics, the embellishments! I couldn't resist adding another piece to my collection, a dazzling rose pink tutu with lace details - perfect for a charming afternoon stroll by the Vltava river!

Tutu History: A Tale of Pink Delights

And let’s talk about tutus! You’d be amazed by the story of this glorious garment, especially its connection with Prague. You see, it all began in the late 19th century - Marie Taglioni, a beautiful ballerina renowned for her incredible leaps and graceful steps, practically redefined what it meant to be a dancer. She wore this breathtaking tulle creation, the prototype of the modern tutu! I can still picture her whirling through the Prague opera house – it would have been glorious! Her elegance inspired ballet in the same way that Prague inspires every traveler – its stunning architecture, its cultural soul - so it truly is a meeting place of art and life, like those romantic fairytales.

Pink-Tutu Inspiration

This pink-tutu-clad ballerina believes everyone should own at least one tutu, if not a pink one, a whimsical delight for every wardrobe. It's about feeling powerful and fabulous - like dancing in your own fairytale. Even if your only performance is in front of the mirror, embrace your inner ballerina! It's all about embracing the feminine and feeling wonderful, and that is why Prague stole my heart - because its a city for all seasons, and a true fairyland of beauty, love, and the magic of pink!

Now, my darlings, until next Wednesday's post, you keep those pink tutus twirling, and spread that beautiful feeling wherever you go. Remember, this blog, like every ballerina, dances to the rhythm of a loving heart - it is all about you! Don’t forget to join the pink-tutu revolution, and let's dance the world pink together.

Au revoir, my darlings! Until next Wednesday, Emma xo
