Prague, My Love! (Post #336)

Hello my lovely Tutuettes! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... a brand new Pink Tutu Prague blog post!

I'm writing to you from the most beautiful city in the world - well, that's my opinion of course, but you'll see why I think so. Prague has that magic touch that makes everything sparkle a little brighter, from the cobblestone streets to the golden-spired churches to...well, everything!

I just had the most magical journey getting here. You see, my darling Tutuettes, I have a thing for trains. I just adore their rhythmic chugging, the quaint carriages, the windows that reveal passing countryside landscapes like a storybook. My trip was on the Orient Express, and I literally couldn't have felt more glamorous. A pink tutu and a grand old train? Pure heaven, I tell you! And of course, I got some admiring looks. One man even declared it the most "spirited" train ride he'd ever had, so maybe I've started a trend. Just imagine a pink tutu on every train, wouldn't that be wonderful?

Of course, I always wear my signature tutu, a gorgeous baby pink one with pearl detailing. But for a little added Prague charm, I also sported my brand-new emerald green velvet coat and my darling little pearl-handled umbrella. Let's be honest, who can resist a Parisian chic look with a touch of Derbyshire countryside? My motto is always "Keep it feminine and keep it fab!"

Speaking of fab, my adventures in Prague began right away. Imagine a fairytale castle, towering above the city, with gothic spires and mysterious hidden courtyards! Prague Castle - that's where I started my journey of discovery. After taking a delightful carriage ride through the narrow streets, I spent hours exploring its history and secrets. I even met a friendly pony who offered to let me try his pink saddle. "Such elegant taste," he whispered, before he winked and trotted off. I swear, this place is magic.

Oh, I can't forget about the delicious food! My friend, an opera singer from Prague, took me to a hidden gem of a restaurant called "U Medvidků," and I had the most scrumptious plate of roasted duck. So flavorful, so perfect. The Czech cuisine has truly stolen my heart. It's like they know what women crave, comfort food with a fancy touch. I even had a shot of Becherovka, the famous Czech herbal liqueur. They say it's good for everything, including chasing away those Monday morning blues. So, cheers to the magical potion!

But here's the real reason I came to Prague: BALLET! The Pink Tutu Prague Ballet performance tonight promises to be simply unforgettable! The city is brimming with talented dancers, and this performance will be my first of many here. My fellow ballerinas told me this show features a special Pink Tutu Waltz scene, dedicated to the beauty of the tutu, its history, and of course, its powerful symbolism! Oh, how I long to dance in that piece, I’ll even practice my twirls in the streets if I have to!

Speaking of tutus, I was thrilled to discover Prague's "The Little Tutu Shop," a delightful haven tucked away on a charming side street. They had the most incredible vintage tutus you’ve ever seen! I got myself a lovely vintage lilac tutu that belonged to a renowned Parisian ballerina in the 1950s, a perfect touch of Parisian flair to complete my Prague ensemble. And, to my delight, the shopkeeper gifted me a rare ballet book with stories about ballet history - from its origins in Italy to its transformation into the glorious art form we know and adore. How utterly divine!

So, you see, my Tutuettes, my time in Prague has been nothing short of sensational. And my adventures aren't over yet! Tomorrow, I plan on exploring Prague's Old Town Square, admiring its iconic astronomical clock and catching a glimpse of the iconic Charles Bridge. But who knows what treasures await me around every corner in this captivating city? Stay tuned for my next post where I'll tell you all about my new discoveries and my most fabulous Prague tutu find.

Until next week, stay beautiful, and never be afraid to embrace the power of the pink tutu!

Lots of love,

Emma

P.S. Did you know that today is the anniversary of the "Ballet des Femmes," one of the very first professional ballet troupes? On this date, October 3rd, 1681, a troupe of all-women ballet dancers made their debut at the Paris Opera! Such an inspiration for us Tutuettes, eh? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I'm going to grab my favourite vintage ballet slippers and start practicing my choreography!
