Pink Tutu Prague: Post 353 - Ballet, Beauty and Bohemia! šŸ©°šŸ’–šŸ‡ØšŸ‡æ

Hello, darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the most magical city in Europe: Prague! My tutu is twirling with excitement as I write this, because today was a true dream come true!

Wednesday mornings are all about ballet, you know! It's the day I post on my little blog, www.pink-tutu.com, sharing my adventures with you, my fellow tutu enthusiasts! And let me tell you, Prague is the perfect backdrop for this week's post, a vibrant mix of historic beauty, captivating culture and, of course, ballet!

I arrived in Prague on Tuesday evening after a picturesque train journey. Oh, I love travelling by train! The gentle swaying motion always sparks my imagination, especially when wearing my signature pink tutu, of course. It feels like Iā€™m on the set of a whimsical ballet!

Speaking of whimsical, let me tell you about the most amazing thing that happened before I even arrived! Remember my beloved pink pony, Prince? Heā€™s been patiently waiting for me at a farm near Prague, and I finally got to have a lovely morning riding through the Bohemian countryside with him. Riding Prince is one of my greatest joys ā€“ heā€™s such a handsome and well-mannered pony. Plus, it gives my ballet physique that extra oomph! (Who needs the gym, right?!)

Now, back to my fabulous adventures in Prague. I must tell you, darlings, this city is straight out of a fairytale. Think charming cobblestone streets lined with colourful buildings, intricate Gothic architecture, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and the gentle murmur of the Vltava river. You wouldnā€™t believe the divine vintage stores here! Iā€™ve already discovered a darling little boutique called ā€œFairy Dustā€ ā€“ full of the most exquisite hats, vintage shoes and lace dressesā€¦perfect for my ballerina wardrobe!

But you know, even the most breathtaking scenery canā€™t compare to the thrill of seeing ballet performed in such a beautiful city! Today, my heart danced a little faster than usual because I was seeing "The Nutcracker" at the magnificent National Theatre in Prague! It was simply divine.

You know I love a good tutu story. Did you know The Nutcracker was premiered here in 1892 at the Imperial Theatre? Just imagine how captivating it would have been back then, with the elegance of those beautiful late 19th-century costumes and the rich history of this extraordinary city! It was almost as if I was there watching it myself.

Now, before I delve into the breathtaking performance, let's talk about tutus, shall we? The Nutcracker has always been my favourite ballet! I even named one of my favourite tutus after the ballet ā€“ my "Sugarplum Fairy Tutu." (It's made with soft, peachy pink tulle, with shimmering sequins and delicate bows. Perfect for dreaming of sweets, donā€™t you think?!)

Back to The Nutcracker. The performance was captivating, with an energy that vibrated through the entire theatre. The orchestraā€™s music, the elaborate sets, the stunning costumes, the vibrant coloursā€¦ it all melded into one extraordinary piece of theatrical art!

The talented dancers brought each character to life with such grace and elegance. It was a delight to watch the snowflakes flutter, the rats scurrying, and the delicate ballerinas perform their intricate routines. My favourite moment, of course, was the sugarplum fairy's grand pas de deux. What an exquisite dancer, she brought so much tenderness, charm and pure joy to the stage! I couldn't help but dream of twirling in her gorgeous pink tutu! (Just a tiny bit of inspiration for my next tutu design, maybeā€¦?)

My trip wouldnā€™t be complete without taking a ballet class. Thankfully, Prague is a haven for dance! After The Nutcracker, I found myself at the heart of the bustling old town, just a stoneā€™s throw from the theatre, in a lovely little dance studio called ā€œLe Papillon.ā€ (Yes, another lovely butterfly name, itā€™s certainly a theme!)

They held a gorgeous advanced class in ballet technique and artistry, and of course, it was just what my tutu and I needed! My limbs stretched like willows, and my feet skimmed across the polished wooden floor like butterflies taking flight! I couldnā€™t have asked for a more delightful start to my morning.

I absolutely loved this ballet class! I love how ballet allows me to express my inner ballerina, even when Iā€™m just enjoying a relaxed, and frankly, gorgeous, afternoon in a charming European city.

And for the grand finale of this perfect day, I treated myself to the most decadent cup of hot chocolate at a cute cafe with views of Pragueā€™s iconic Charles Bridge. And of course, no trip is complete without picking up a few gorgeous little gifts to send to you, my sweet followers. I have the most adorable pink-hued butterfly earrings and a vintage Czech crystal necklace to share with you! They were both in a tiny shop hidden behind the old town square. You really do have to love this city ā€“ it's a true gem of a place!

Don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday for new adventures in style, dance, and everything pink!

Until next week, stay elegant, darling.

šŸ’– Emma xx

P.S. Did you know that pink has been a popular color for ballet costumes since the Victorian Era?! Isn't that amazing?

P.P.S Can you guess what Iā€™m doing tomorrow? Of course you can! Iā€™m off to Pragueā€™s biggest ballet bookstore! šŸ©°šŸ“š šŸ’–
