Hello my darling tutu-lovers! It's Emma here, writing to you from the beautiful city of Prague! 🩰🌸 This week, I've been exploring the cobbled streets and historic squares of this magical city, all in the glorious glow of a perfect pink tutu, naturally.
As you know, Wednesday is Pink Tutu Blog Day! And what better place to write my latest post than in a city where history literally dances on every corner?
My journey started in the usual way: with a thrilling train ride from Derbyshire, my lovely home county, all the way to Prague. I just adore train journeys - there's something so romantic about watching the world whizz by as you sip on tea and admire the scenery. This time, I even had a chat with a lovely elderly gentleman who, upon learning of my passion for tutus, excitedly told me all about the ballet history of Prague! (He even had a vintage ballet programme tucked away in his bag! 😍)
Upon arrival, the first thing I did was find my gorgeous hotel. I won't bore you with the details, but let's just say it had a chandelier, a balcony, and a view of the city that just took my breath away! 💫 After a quick change into a crisp, flowing, and oh-so-pretty pink tutu, I ventured out to explore the city's enchanting streets.
Prague is a city brimming with history, so of course, I had to visit Prague Castle, a towering masterpiece overlooking the city. It's a magical place, filled with winding corridors, beautiful churches, and enough history to make your head spin. While I was exploring the castle, I couldn't help but imagine the many ballet performances that must have taken place within its walls over the centuries. (And let's be honest, even the most glamorous of royalty could use a bit of pink tutu magic!) 👑
As the afternoon sun bathed the city in a golden hue, I made my way to the famous Charles Bridge. What a beautiful bridge! I spent ages wandering along its length, stopping to admire the many statues lining the path, and enjoying the laughter and chatter of the locals and tourists alike. Of course, I couldn't resist a quick photo op with the stunning panoramic view of Prague – in my pink tutu, naturally! ✨
And no trip to Prague would be complete without experiencing the magic of the National Theatre! 🎭 You guys, I saw a ballet performance tonight, and it was absolutely breathtaking! The artistry, the music, the story, it was simply spellbinding! The ballerina's graceful movements and delicate leaps made my heart skip a beat – truly, I felt like I was part of a dream! 💫 It just solidified my belief that the world needs more pink tutus in their lives – the power of movement and colour truly resonates through such performance art.
Speaking of dance, I spent some of my morning in the enchanting city centre, captivated by the sight of street performers bringing the city to life. From graceful ballerinas swirling in the squares, to lively buskers playing folk melodies, every corner offered a new, joyful experience! It was truly inspiring to see such passionate performances unfolding right in the heart of this bustling city. The vibrant colours of their costumes reminded me of all the pink tutu variations I could create! It just proves, there's a bit of ballet magic in everything we do! 🩰🌎
And now for a little indulgence! I can't resist a little bit of shopping, can I? Especially when I'm in a city as fabulous as Prague! So naturally, I headed to one of the city's charming boutiques, filled with exquisite designs, beautiful fabrics, and - oh yes, you guessed it - more pink than you can imagine! I came away with a delightful little vintage lace dress, the perfect piece to complete my Prague adventures. 💖
