Prague's Pink-Tutu Dream: Post #383

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your pink-tutu-clad guide to all things fabulous. This week, I've hopped, skipped, and twirled my way into the magical city of Prague!

It's Wednesday morning, and the sunshine is already making its way through the cobblestone streets. My window view is positively fairytale-like, a vibrant mix of terracotta roofs, spires reaching for the sky, and the ancient walls of Prague Castle. My little pink suitcase, emblazoned with a sparkling ballerina silhouette, rests patiently beside my bed, filled to the brim with tulle and silk, all ready to create the perfect fairytale ensemble.

And speaking of fairytale ensembles, I just have to share my journey here! Leaving Derbyshire, I boarded a charming train that carried me through rolling fields of wildflowers. As the countryside sped past, I couldn't help but feel a touch of wistful nostalgia. This was how it all started for me, remember?

Yes, darling, you are right! This love for travelling and exploring the world stemmed from an unexpected encounter in my teenage years. Back then, a tiny, pink ballerina doll perched on my bedroom shelf. One afternoon, as I was idly twirling in my favourite pink tutu, my gaze met hers, and in that instant, I was whisked away to a magical land of glittering theatres and pirouettes.

So, you can say, it was a life-changing experience! Soon after, I took up ballet and realised my greatest passion, and even greater, I realised my tutu-loving spirit was far from ordinary! As my dance career blossomed, my travels increased, each performance leading me to new, exciting places.

This trip to Prague, funded entirely by my performances, is truly special. My aim is to bring the spirit of the Pink Tutu to every corner of this charming city!

First things first, I had to pay homage to my favourite pink accessory – the iconic tutu. I know it might seem odd, but a ballet-themed day simply can't start without a bit of a tutu-hunt! Luckily for me, Prague has plenty of delightful vintage boutiques. In the heart of Old Town Square, nestled amongst cobblestones and antique stores, a whimsical shop called "Tutu Delights" promised just what I needed.

Now, this shop, darlings, is every ballerina's dream! Inside, a rainbow of tulle cascaded from the shelves, with layers of vibrant hues: blush pinks, crisp whites, and vibrant emerald greens. After a bit of deliberation and some playful twirls in front of the mirror, I emerged triumphant with a charming pink tutu, perfectly complementing the soft, creamy lace of my dress.

After a breakfast of fluffy croissants and frothy cappuccino in a quaint café, I set off for the Charles Bridge, a pedestrian-only path that wends its way across the Vltava River. My trusty, little pink notebook clutched in hand, I absorbed the fairytale-like setting. It's an ancient marvel, with stunning Gothic arches lined with statues and offering incredible views of the city. The cobblestone path seemed to resonate with echoes of history and whisper tales of royal processions and dancing princesses.

On a whim, I hopped onto a charming carriage ride. The gentle clip-clop of hooves echoing against the cobblestones as we glided along the bridge felt like stepping into a classic novel. Prague is absolutely beautiful, especially when you see it from the back of a carriage!

This evening, Prague has another magical adventure in store! The Prague National Theatre has been inviting audiences to their captivating shows for over a century. Their historical importance, and impressive architecture simply made a visit necessary for any ballerina's itinerary, particularly a pink-tutu clad ballerina's. The impressive neo-renaissance building, bathed in warm twilight light, promises a truly enchanting experience. I’m expecting the ballet performance to be captivating and spectacular – fingers crossed, I’ve heard rumours they’re doing a new interpretation of Swan Lake tonight.

But before we dive into the theatrical world, my lovely blog followers, there’s just one small hurdle to overcome – what to wear! I mean, just what will I choose to honour this enchanting evening, darlings? My eyes light up with excitement! I'm already envisioning the perfect outfit: a breathtaking flowy, light pink maxi dress with delicate embroidery, perhaps a touch of silver glitter – and naturally, that stunning new pink tutu!

And lastly, the cherry on top - my ballerina pink heels!

Join me for a detailed update about the National Theatre, with all the glorious, shimmering details – tomorrow morning, right here on the www.pink-tutu.com blog.

And remember, every day can be an exciting adventure. Embrace the joy of twirling, dream big, and, above all else, dare to wear a pink tutu!

See you tomorrow, my little pink ballerinas.

XOXO,

Emma.
