Prague Diaries #439: Twirling Through Prague in Pink, Darling! πŸ©°πŸŒΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ώ

Hello my darling tutu-loving friends!

It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for a fresh installment of my Prague diaries, fresh from my favourite spot in the whole city - the Pink Tutu HQ! πŸ’…

This week has been all about twirling, shopping, and exploring Prague's incredible culture. I swear, this city was practically built for tutus! From the cobblestone streets that I adore prancing along in my ballet flats, to the incredible architecture that feels like it came straight out of a storybook (and not a particularly boring one, either!), I've been in absolute heaven.

Let's start with a big fashion update, shall we? πŸ‘—

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the grandest vintage sale in Prague. It was absolutely delightful! All sorts of fabulous things in there. It was almost too hard to choose just one new addition to my wardrobe, but let me tell you - I snagged the most incredible velvet cape in the deepest shade of purple you've ever seen. I knew it was destined to make an entrance with my most flamboyant tutu! The sales assistant (who I suspect was a former dancer with her fabulously arched eyebrows) swore that it would look "divine" paired with my vintage pale pink "swansdown" tutu. I'll let you know how that goes when I next rock the combo in my weekly performance! 🩰

Speaking of my weekly performance, this week's ballet offering has been a right cracker! It's been my favourite one so far, filled with a mix of the familiar and the totally new! We did our usual selection of the greats: a charming little "Swan Lake" excerpt (we all have to master those famous swan arm movements!), and a sassy, energetic little routine inspired by "Giselle." But then we had this one new piece that's been getting a lot of praise! The choreography was unlike anything we've done before – full of flowing movements and modern elegance. I'd never done anything like it, but I found it incredibly liberating. Almost as liberating as performing in my brand-new pink satin tutu, that is. 🀩

Now, for the highlight of the week - something even more spectacular than a brand new tutu (if you can even believe that! It's hard to top that magic!): my very first ballet performance on the stage of Prague's famed National Theatre! 🎭

As soon as I walked into the National Theatre, it was like walking onto the set of a lavish production! From the ornate gilded decor to the luxurious velvet seating (I must say, they looked much more comfortable than the theatre chairs back home in Derbyshire! Maybe they deserve a good pink-tutu treatment...), it was an incredible experience. And when the curtain rose and we all emerged, we were greeted by a gasp from the audience! The roar of applause at the end was just wonderful, and you bet I was doing my absolute best swan lake twirls on my exit, darling!

But back to the real reason I came to Prague! Aside from the breathtaking ballet performances and gorgeous fashion, the true beauty of Prague lies in its charming alleyways, the majestic bridges across the Vltava river, and the most beautiful cathedrals I have ever seen in my life. Just this afternoon, I decided to take a stroll through Old Town Square, which was utterly buzzing with life! You know what they say – you haven't really experienced Prague until you've had a go on the astrological clock and watched all the little figures move at the hour! The whole experience is enchanting!

I also treated myself to a delicious hot chocolate by the Charles Bridge while admiring the iconic, romantic scenery. Oh, darling, Prague is seriously the best city in the world! πŸ’–

Later this week I am planning to try out a horseback riding adventure, or rather, a pony-powered sightseeing tour - because honestly, why not? After all, my dearest readers, the key to life is to always embrace the unexpected, the fun, the slightly extravagant! It’s all about creating those magical moments, that sense of being truly alive! And Prague, oh Prague, you just keep making my heart soar, I'll be telling everyone about you back in Derby, darling, when I return! πŸ’•

Now, until next week, I am off to find a charming little bookstore to search for the latest tutus in fashion - I need to make sure my wardrobe is ready for this magical adventure!

Yours truly,

Emma (In a Pink Tutu, Naturally!) πŸ’–πŸ©°
