Prague, Prague, Pretty Prague: #PinkTutuPrague 🩰

Hello lovelies!

Welcome back to my little corner of the internet! This week I'm sharing my adventures from Prague, a city that's already captured my heart with its stunning architecture, charming cobblestone streets and of course, the vibrant cultural scene!

It's been a while since I've hopped on a train to a new city, but after a series of brilliant ballet performances in Derby, I felt the need for a change of scenery. You know me - I can't resist the lure of a new tutu collection, and I heard Prague was simply bursting with exquisite boutiques and antique stores.

A Whirlwind Journey: Train, Pony, and a City's Charms

Let me tell you, the journey to Prague was pure magic! The train ride was a delight - a comfortable carriage, panoramic views and the thrill of being on the move, fueled by nothing but delicious biscuits and a steaming cup of Earl Grey tea (served in a china cup, naturally!). I love train travel; there’s something wonderfully romantic about the slow reveal of a landscape unfolding before you, unlike those rushed airport departures.

And who says you can't travel with a touch of whimsical? At the Prague station, I discovered the most darling pony taxi! I just had to give it a whirl. My sweet steed, Buttercup, had the cutest little pink bridle – perfectly in tune with my Pink Tutu sensibilities, you see! After all, what’s a visit to Prague without a bit of whimsical magic?

Stepping Into Prague's Ballet World: A Magical Performance

I landed smack dab in the heart of the action just in time for the evening ballet performance. The performance was the perfect introduction to Prague’s cultural spirit. It was held at a gorgeous theatre; I couldn’t stop myself from imagining what it was like during the 19th century, all glitz and glam! And the dancers! My goodness! The precision, the emotion, the sheer artistry – I was entranced from the opening curtain to the final applause. You see, it’s moments like these that I live for! It's about immersing yourself in art, being inspired and allowing your heart to flutter.

Discovering the Charm of Prague: Exploring, Shopping and Savouring the Moment

After the performance, it was time for a leisurely walk around the city. My darling tutu, in a rich shade of fuchsia, flowed perfectly with the cobbled streets, making for the most enchanting, romantic stroll. (Of course, the light from the street lamps cast a wonderful glow on the tulle – how’s that for Parisian chic!).

Prague's Old Town was absolutely magical - narrow alleys brimming with shops, little cafes with outdoor seating, and the scent of freshly brewed coffee in the air. And what did I stumble upon in a tiny boutique hidden on a quaint side street? The most fabulous, silk-like, candy-pink tulle I'd ever seen! My hands immediately began sketching new design ideas, you see - the muse was truly at work.

Tutus, History and Fashion: A Dance of Passion

The next day, I spent hours in the Old Town Square, which was teeming with vibrant energy and charm. It was as if I stepped back in time to witness history unfold before my eyes. I marveled at the medieval architecture, soaked in the colourful ambiance, and dreamt of the lives and stories these cobblestones had seen over centuries. I took a charming horse-drawn carriage ride, a romantic tradition in Prague!

The beauty of Prague extends beyond its enchanting architecture – I am, after all, a ballet fanatic! So, of course, a trip to Prague wouldn’t be complete without a pilgrimage to the National Theatre. The building itself is stunning, a proud monument of history, but beyond the grand facade lies a vibrant cultural heart. This theatre holds such a fascinating history! Just imagining those glorious costumes and the ballet performances from times gone by makes my tutu spin with excitement!

One of my most delightful discoveries in Prague was a little vintage boutique tucked away on a charming street. It felt like stepping into a whimsical wonderland. My eyes fell upon the most magnificent, hand-sewn vintage ballet shoes in the most vibrant colours! Imagine my glee! Those shoes are an absolute treasure, just perfect for a performance inspired by Prague’s magical vibe.

A Sweet Spot for Sweets: Prague’s Sugar-Coated Charm

Now, I do have a confession to make. My weakness? The most adorable sweet treats, pastries, and of course, every delicious variety of pralines you can imagine. I swear, Prague was a sensory overload in the best way! I indulged in all sorts of sugary delights and even found a bakery specializing in sugar-coated ballet shoes! Talk about a dance between fashion and culinary delights. Who wouldn't love to bite into a confection as delicate and dreamy as that?

From Pink Tutu to Prague's Pastel Charm

Prague, you see, has a way of stealing your heart with its charming atmosphere. Everywhere you look, you're surrounded by colours that sing with delight - from the candy-coloured houses lining the streets to the vibrant art galleries brimming with life. Prague was like a living fairytale! And my pink tutu? Well, it just added another layer of dreamy beauty to this enchanting city.

And did I mention the stunning sunsets? The way the sky morphed from vibrant orange and pink into fiery hues of purple and blue? It truly felt like Prague was celebrating a grand ballet performance – the clouds playing the part of graceful ballerinas, the city centre as the magnificent stage.

Time to Embark on New Adventures: Back to Derby, With Prague's Magic in My Heart

This journey was everything I could have ever dreamed of and more. I’ll admit I felt a pang of sadness saying goodbye to Prague’s beautiful, storybook streets – those cobblestone roads now holding the memory of my ballet dreams and the echo of my tutu-wearing heart. I do, however, have my new vintage ballet shoes with me. It feels good to know that every time I slip those graceful, hand-sewn slippers on, a little piece of Prague’s magical spirit will come to life, ready to share its sparkle and beauty with every performance.

Now, back to Derby, I return with new inspiration! But I promise this isn't goodbye - Prague will always have a special place in my heart!
