Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Dreams and Bohemian Delights! (Post #476)

Wednesday 9th June 2004

Bonjour, darlings! It's your favourite tutu-loving traveller, Emma, reporting live from the charming city of Prague. I've arrived after a whirlwind train journey (let me tell you, those European carriages are oh so chic!), and I must say, the city is simply enchanting.

Now, let's talk tutus! I had to grab a few new additions to my collection while I was in Vienna. A gorgeous pink sequined creation fit for a princess and a billowing blush tutu perfect for waltzing through the streets of Vienna. And, of course, a stunning pink lace one for my Prague adventures.

Prague, you see, is a city that practically begs to be danced in! From the cobblestone streets lined with pastel-coloured buildings to the charming cafes overflowing with laughter, the entire place exudes a sense of romanticism. The air here is electric, just like the atmosphere at a fantastic ballet show.

I arrived yesterday, and already, I've been indulging in everything that makes my heart flutter: cobblestone strolls, pastries filled with apricot jam (a true Bohemian delicacy!), and, of course, some wonderful vintage clothing shopping. Let's be honest, darling, Prague's boutiques are bursting with unique treasures just waiting to be unearthed by a fashion-loving ballerina like myself. I spotted a beautiful vintage tutu at a little shop called "The Fabric Fairy" - you know me, I just had to snap it up!

Today, though, it's all about the ballet. And guess what? Tonight, there's a special performance of "Giselle" at the National Theatre. I've been so looking forward to it! Prague's ballet scene is world-renowned, so I'm certain it will be spectacular. Just picturing myself nestled in the velvet seats, my pink tulle billowing around me, as the ethereal Giselle steps onto the stage... ah, pure magic!

I've heard rumours about a delightful ballet class tucked away in the old town. So, naturally, I'll be getting my pliés and pirouettes in shape for the performance. Perhaps, if I'm feeling adventurous, I might even find a charming horse-drawn carriage to take me there. Just imagine, gliding through the cobblestone streets of Prague with a gentle trot, tutu swirling around my legs... it's enough to make a girl's heart sing!

The best thing about travelling is immersing yourself in a city's soul. It's all about experiencing its sights, its smells, its people, and, most importantly, its dance. For me, a dance performance is more than just a show - it's a story unfolding right before your eyes, an expression of human emotions through movement and grace. And tonight, under the spell of Prague, I'm ready to be swept away by the magic of "Giselle."

Speaking of stories, I simply have to tell you about the stunning National Theatre building! Imagine a grand neo-Renaissance edifice built on the banks of the Vltava River. This is truly a masterpiece, a symphony of architecture and artistic spirit. The beauty is almost tangible, darling, almost enough to make me want to pirouette on the steps!

So, darling, until next week, I shall be living the dream, twirling through Prague in my favourite pink tulle, exploring its hidden alleyways and soaking up every bit of its charm.

Do remember to check back next week for a grand report of my evening at the ballet, as well as some tantalising fashion finds from my Prague escapades.

Keep twirling, darling!

XOXO, Emma
