Prague: A Whirlwind of Pink Tutus & Baroque Beauty (Post #479)

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new blog post! This week, I'm whisking you all off on a whirlwind trip to the magical city of Prague, where I've been soaking up the stunning architecture, sampling delicious pastries (more on that later), and of course, indulging in my passion: ballet!

As you know, dear readers, I simply adore the elegant lines and ethereal grace of the ballet. It's a passion I've nurtured since I was a tiny tot twirling in my first pink tutu, and one I’ve thankfully been able to make my life’s work, through performances and, well, this blog!

This particular trip has been funded by my recent performance with the Derbyshire Ballet company – a rendition of Giselle that went down a storm! I must admit, I have a slight soft spot for Giselle’s costume - those airy white tutus and delicate blooms - it's pure romantic ballet magic!

Prague: Where History Whispers and Beauty Reigns

My journey to Prague was, naturally, via train, which I absolutely adore. Something about the rhythmic clatter of the wheels and the scenery flashing by the window just fills me with a sense of romance. Not to mention, it gives me plenty of time to dream up outfit ideas for the next show, or perhaps plan a visit to a certain antique tutu shop I’ve got my eye on...

Speaking of which, darling Prague is positively overflowing with gorgeous boutiques! And you know what I found? Not one, but two vintage tutu shops tucked away in cobblestone streets! Naturally, I emerged with a new, oh-so-delightful, silk and lace creation. I’ve already envisioned it on stage - it will be perfect for my next rendition of Swan Lake.

The Grand Dance at the National Theatre

Tonight was the night for the highlight of my Prague adventure - a ballet performance at the glorious National Theatre! The grand façade, inspired by the Italian Renaissance, is a feast for the eyes, but the real magic unfolded inside. The interiors are breathtakingly ornate, adorned with plush velvet seating and a breathtakingly painted ceiling.

The performance itself was truly a joy to behold. A ballet adaptation of Don Juan, the tale of seduction, heartbreak, and of course, dramatic dance. The male dancers were exquisite, their athleticism and power mesmerising, but the highlight for me was a swoon-worthy ballerina, whose grace was quite literally, divine. I couldn't resist stealing a glance at her stunning, flowing white tutu afterwards. sighs Just sublime!

Pink Tutus & Bohemian Charm

It goes without saying, that a girl as enthusiastic about pink tutus as myself couldn’t possibly miss the chance to capture Prague in all its glorious pink glory. I mean, you simply can't have Prague without its charming pink hues! There are pastel-coloured houses peeking out from the cobblestone streets, quaint cafes bathed in soft pink light, and even a little park I found where the vibrant blooms were a perfect symphony of pink.

Honestly, it felt like walking through a fairytale!

As always, I'm embracing this Parisian pink-hued inspiration, and I’m considering adding a touch of Prague to my own stage wardrobe. Perhaps a delicate lace overlay, or even a tulle bustle in a soft pink shade. I shall let you know how that progresses!

Prague Delights: Pastry Perfection & Artistic Adventures

Now, I can't forget to tell you about the wonderful treats I've been enjoying. The bakeries in Prague are absolutely overflowing with sweet delights, especially their iconic kolaches! It’s hard to resist the call of freshly baked, fruit-filled pastry - I must admit I’ve indulged on more than one occasion!

But I haven’t just been enjoying pastry, darling! The Czech Republic is overflowing with artistic treasures. My recent favourite has been the wonderful Kunstkamera Gallery - its beautiful collection of avant-garde photography left me inspired and wanting more.

I even spotted a little street performer who looked awfully like she’d been a ballerina in a past life! We even chatted and exchanged a few tips. It seems, her favourite colour is pink too - naturally!

Until Next Week, darlings!

Well, that’s all for this week's blog, darlings. But don’t forget, I'll be back next Wednesday with even more Prague adventures.

And before you go, I just want to remind you - embrace the pink!

Love and twirls,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
