#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 2004-07-07

Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, back from Prague and ready to share a whirlwind of pink tutu-filled adventures! This week on Pink-Tutu.com, we're taking a peek at Prague's cultural scene, indulging in some fabulous shopping, and of course, taking in all the delights this enchanting city has to offer!

Now, let me tell you, this journey started right in my Derbyshire roots! I always say, there's nothing like the feel of a good, old-fashioned train ride - particularly in my bright pink tutu! Yes, I admit it, even the most discerning train traveller's eyes widen at the sight of my whimsical outfit!

The journey from Derby to Prague is a lovely one. I sought out a quiet carriage (a carriage is a train car for you Americans) and slipped into a world of my own: my head brimming with ideas for future tutu creations!

Prague... Ah, what a city! I've always wanted to visit this beautiful city - you know, a destination that whispers tales of Bohemian romance and medieval magic. From the moment I arrived, I felt a warm, welcoming embrace - something you could call “the Prague charm."

Right from the station, I was swept away by the colourful streets. Cobbled lanes leading to ornate churches, cafes brimming with lively conversations, and those iconic pastel-hued houses! It felt like stepping into a picture book. I could tell, this was going to be a love affair.

The National Theatre! Oh, my love for ballet - it knows no bounds! I simply must visit a ballet venue wherever I travel, and Prague's National Theatre was a dream come true. It's not just the gorgeous building, a triumph of 19th-century neo-Renaissance architecture, but it's the essence of history, a space where generations of artists have shared their talent.

Tonight, we are seeing "The Sleeping Beauty!" The exquisite choreography and the majestic music... just pure magic. And you can imagine, the performance had me enthralled from the first flourish! My own heart skipped a beat, alongside the beat of the music! What an honour it was to witness such artistry unfold on stage.

But a visit to the theatre wouldn't be complete without a bit of theatre fashion. Now, I’ve gotta be honest, even the ballet's best-dressed guests couldn't match my pink tutu flair! It’s always a real joy to spot the fashionable ballet lovers who've come out for an evening of entertainment - think fabulous feathered hats, intricate jewellery, and of course, those gorgeous flowing gowns! My tutu, however, held its own with a distinct vintage, hand-stitched design - truly a vintage creation, my dears!

After the performance, I waltzed over to the foyer, where everyone is mingling. It’s an opportunity for some charming banter with fellow ballet enthusiasts. Imagine! Discussing intricate pirouettes and perfect jetés as if they were our favourite tea topics! Who wouldn’t love a good conversation over a hot chocolate, while discussing their favourite ballet stars?

And you know me, my little pink tutu loves to be photographed! And Prague is just the perfect place for a chic, dreamy photo-op. We captured some magic in the heart of the city, especially on Charles Bridge - oh, the golden evening light shimmering on the water, a perfect setting for my photo album. The bridge's charm just amplifies the beauty of the pink tutu! I simply radiated with joy – you know, those post-ballet-show vibes!

You see, travelling on the railways, or should I say, taking “The Iron Road” (as my family calls it), it’s a huge part of my Pink Tutu Life. It’s not just the experience, but it's the connection I find on the journeys - those unexpected conversations that make life more whimsical and unforgettable!

This time, however, I chose a different form of transport - and not just for the change of scenery but for the truly enchanting journey: I rented a beautiful horse and pony from a local stable - I’ll explain later how this lovely mare arrived with me, on a trailer! (Well, we will say, "a charming travelling journey"! You know me, my tutu looks fantastic against a sunny meadow!

A magical adventure on horseback - that was the real essence of my Prague experience. Imagine, riding through lush, emerald meadows with a gentle breeze through my pink tutu and feeling so incredibly at peace with nature. Just me, my pony, the sweet scent of hay and the sound of her hooves on the path - all around me a truly beautiful world.

Prague offers you all that!

What would a trip to Prague be without some exciting shopping excursions? And Prague is brimming with treasures to discover. From those whimsical antiques to exquisite Bohemian glassware - there's a piece of beauty for everyone!

My eyes were wide, especially in the designer boutique in the heart of the old town. I simply could not leave without some fashion-forward accessories! I had to have some beaded jewellery, vintage scarves, and those little beaded trinkets with sparkling jewels! A trip like this must always have some special mementos. And trust me, these accessories made for a stunning addition to my pink tutu collection!

Speaking of fashion, let's talk about the Bohemian flair of this city. I love the playful mix of history and the latest fashion trends - like this gorgeous retro dress with floral prints that I found tucked away in a charming little shop! The beauty of it was - I paired this beauty with my vintage tutu! A look fit for a Prague fairy!

Prague has been the ultimate ballet inspiration. It is a magical mix of traditional elegance and modern flair - I just love that energy that makes every walk through the city an adventure.
