Prague: Pink Tutu Perfection - Blog Post #486

Hello darling! It's Emma here, writing to you live from the beautiful city of Prague! My trusty steed - let's call him "Ballet Boy" - has just trotted me right into the centre of town, where cobbled streets lined with fairytale architecture beckon me to explore. I just love the romantic vibe here. The scent of freshly baked pastries mingles with the sweet aroma of flowers from overflowing window boxes, while the playful twinkle of cafe lights paints the scene with a whimsical charm.

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a fresh blog post on www.pink-tutu.com! Prague's calling out to me, whispering sweet promises of dance, dazzling fashion, and enough beautiful cafes to fuel my love for all things dainty and delightful.

Before I tell you all about my whirlwind adventures in this captivating city, let's chat about Tutus. Today, we're going full-on vintage glamour. This 18th August 2004, we're focusing on the captivating story of Marie Camargo, the rebellious dancer who dared to wear a shortened, innovative tutu that became an iconic style throughout the 18th century. I adore this Parisian ballet icon who literally shook the ballet world. She showed everyone that a tutu could be more than just a long, flowing garment; it could be a symbol of liberation, beauty and artistic brilliance!

Think of Marie's daring tutu as the ultimate "pink tutu" moment, the perfect expression of femininity, passion, and freedom! And that's what this blog is all about. It's all about daring to express yourself, breaking down barriers, and showcasing your inner ballerina, no matter where you are or who you are!

Back to Prague... It wouldn't be a Prague visit without some historical ballet delights. Tonight, we're experiencing the enchanting magic of the National Theatre. Now, the National Theatre of Prague holds a special place in my heart. It’s a masterpiece of Neo-Renaissance architecture, boasting a fascinating history. In 1868, a movement to build a theatre for the Czech nation took shape. When the Austrian authorities declined the building plans, the Czech public united, rallying around the concept of *“A People’s Theatre, for a People’s Culture,” * a glorious mission! This spirit, this undeniable determination to nurture and support the arts, echoes the passion I feel for my own tutu-tastic adventures.

The show tonight is “The Nutcracker.” I've already heard wonderful things - the beautiful costumes, the powerful story of a young girl's magical Christmas journey, the breathtaking choreography. And I can’t wait to feel the magic, see the talent, and get my tutu-tastic fix! It’s guaranteed to be a ballet dream!

Speaking of dreams, my favourite Prague purchase so far is a stunning hand-painted porcelain ballerina! A petite dancer, her delicate skirt swirling in a delicate pink shade, is posed in an enchanting ballet pose. This miniature beauty captures the essence of grace and artistic perfection. She will find pride of place in my ballerina corner. She reminds me why I started this entire journey!

A tutu for every day? Absolutely! Prague, with its old-world charm and beautiful shops filled with delicate trinkets, has become a haven for my "Pink Tutu" quest. The antique stores are bursting with vintage clothing - beautiful frocks that whisper of a bygone era! It's like stepping back in time! My shopping bags are overflowing with delicate lace trims, exquisite brooches, and a shimmering tiara that sparks the princess within. Every day is a fashion fairytale here.

Now, let's talk about travel. There's just something magical about hopping aboard a train with a destination in mind. The gentle sway of the carriage, the soft rumble of the wheels on the track, and the ever-changing scenery whisking past my window. A journey by train feels like a story unfolding before my eyes, a tapestry woven with beautiful moments of tranquility. And what better way to travel to this incredible city than on a charming Ballet Boy? (I don't know about him though. He does have this strange tendency to keep eating my tutus...).

This week, I'm dedicating this blog post to “the ballerina of Prague,” to the dreams of artists and to those who dare to pursue them. It’s about creating art, about finding joy in life's little things, and it's about finding the inner dancer within, because everyone, and I mean everyone, is a beautiful ballerina. Remember to express yourself, embrace your inner joy, and dare to twirl in your very own pink tutu.

Until next Wednesday, my dear pink-tutu enthusiasts!

**Stay twirly,

Emma xx**
