Pink Tutu Prague: Post 506 - A Ballerina's Dream in the City of a Hundred Spires! πŸ©°πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ώ

Wednesday, January 5th, 2005

Hello darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, bringing you a fresh dose of all things fluffy and fabulous from the utterly enchanting city of Prague!

This week, we're embracing a little bit of culture and a whole lot of glitz, darling, as we explore the breathtaking heart of the Czech Republic. My suitcase is overflowing with pink tutus, of course – each one meticulously chosen for the occasion. This is, after all, the city that gave us the iconic and exquisite costumes of the Prague National Ballet, those gloriously dramatic and historically rich ballets set to a background of breathtaking, baroque beauty.

The train journey from Derbyshire, my little haven in the heart of England, was absolutely delightful. As the train rumbled through the picturesque English countryside, my mind was abuzz with excitement for the incredible adventures that awaited me. And speaking of incredible adventures, have I told you about the magnificent pony, 'Pinkalicious', I now ride to each performance? Oh, the envy from the other performers – you should see their faces!

Prague is a truly romantic city. Cobbled streets lined with charming little shops, historic architecture that whispers stories of ancient empires, and the delicious smell of coffee brewing in every corner. I have to say, the atmosphere here is so utterly charming, it's almost enough to make me forget I'm wearing my newest and most fabulous, feather-trimmed, hot-pink tutu!

Pink-tastic Ballet Beginnings

Now, to business. The real reason I'm in Prague, darling? Well, you know it - a fabulous performance! And not just any performance. This is the legendary Prague National Ballet, an institution of sheer grace and artistry, known throughout the world for its dedication to showcasing the very best in ballet history. Today's programme is a delectable medley of the classics – from Tchaikovsky's sweeping masterpiece, Swan Lake, to the vibrant energy of The Nutcracker – truly a delightful showcase for all things ballet.

It was a visual and emotional rollercoaster. I simply adore the choreography – so elegant, fluid and truly expressive! Each delicate gesture and leap held a world of emotion, pulling me completely into the world of these beautiful tales. But it wasn't just the ballet that stole my heart - the costumes, darling, the costumes! Every single one was a work of art – so vibrant, so intricate, so dazzlingly unique. And just imagine, some of these beautiful pieces date back to the 19th century – history and fashion, in perfect harmony!

A Shopping Spree with a Pink-tinted Perspective

But wait, there's more! No trip to Prague is complete without indulging in some seriously delightful retail therapy! The city is simply bursting with exquisite shops, showcasing everything from exquisite crystal, to the most charming bohemian fashion pieces. My dear friend and fellow tutu aficionado, Sophie, accompanied me on this glorious shopping spree – and let's just say, we came home laden with fabulous treasures. We discovered an incredible vintage shop on a charming little back street called 'La BohΓ¨me' – perfect for the budding ballet dancer, the one that absolutely knows her tulle from her lace. They had an abundance of vintage tutus, perfect for adding a touch of elegance and a dose of 'that' retro sparkle to your dance wardrobe! Sophie found a dazzlingly purple tutu, with sequins that shone like stars! Mine was a blush-pink affair with soft velvet ribbon detailing. Absolutely perfect, darling!

The shopping highlight, of course, was my find at a charming antique jewellery store on Old Town Square. I stumbled upon a magnificent necklace - a single, large pearl encased in an intricate gold frame, suspended on a delicate silver chain. Imagine my delight when I realised that the pearlescent tone was almost the exact same shade as my pink tutus. Perfection!

Exploring Prague: A Ballerina's Dream

After all this shopping, my feet were aching, darling, so Sophie and I treated ourselves to a relaxing river cruise along the Vltava River. I found myself utterly mesmerized by the beauty of Prague from this unique vantage point. Those stunning historical buildings, illuminated by the evening light, reflected on the water – a fairytale landscape made even more magical by the gentle sound of the river as it flowed beneath our little boat.

For the grand finale, we decided on a candlelit dinner in the Old Town Square. Surrounded by the twinkling fairy lights that adorned every street corner, we shared delicious local cuisine and chatted about the adventures of the day. My darling, let's just say it was the perfect end to a perfectly magical day in Prague.

Next Week's Tutu-filled Adventures

And there you have it, darling, a little slice of Prague from your favourite tutu-clad ballerina! Tune in next Wednesday, for more enchanting adventures. Until then, keep those pink tutus twirling and remember to stay fabulously you!

Until then, au revoir and stay pink! πŸ’–

**Love,

Emma**
