Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Culture, Fashion, and Ballet! (Post #527)

Bonjour mes amis, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet, Pink Tutu Prague, where we celebrate all things pink, frilly, and utterly fabulous. Today, we’re dancing our way through the cobbled streets of Prague, a city brimming with history, culture, and…you guessed it…an absolute abundance of stunning outfits!

This week marks my fifth week in Prague, and let me tell you, I’ve been thoroughly spoiled! It’s like a fairytale come to life - those charming bridges, the historic architecture, and even the little street musicians all play their part in creating a truly magical atmosphere.

Speaking of magical, you all know I couldn't come to Prague without exploring its incredible ballet scene! My first ballet experience this week was at the National Theatre which is simply breathtaking. Just the building itself is something special – it's a massive neo-Renaissance palace overlooking the Vltava River. You could spend a whole day just admiring its intricate architecture and the amazing statues that adorn it.

Now, imagine a stunning backdrop like that paired with the beauty and elegance of a classical ballet performance. This time, the ballet was The Sleeping Beauty and let me tell you, I'm still buzzing from the whole experience. The dancers were incredible - they seemed to glide across the stage with effortless grace.

As much as I love watching professional ballerinas, nothing quite compares to the sheer joy of donning my own pink tutu and hitting the studio floor! Thankfully, Prague has a lovely dance scene, and I've found a beautiful studio just a hop and a skip from my charming little apartment. It’s called The Ballerina’s Loft and is everything a ballerina’s heart could desire - full-length mirrors, wooden floors, and even a lovely tea room! This little gem is the perfect place for an early morning barre session.

Of course, no visit to Prague would be complete without indulging in some serious shopping! Let’s face it, fashion is in my blood. I’ve found some incredible boutiques selling vintage gowns and intricate lace. I even stumbled across a charming little shop tucked away in a quiet alley, selling antique ballet shoes - the leather is still soft and supple! Honestly, it's like I've found a treasure chest full of ballet fashion delights!

Speaking of treasures, you all know I can’t resist a good train ride! There's something truly romantic about chugging across the countryside on a steam engine - it’s just so atmospheric! And Prague is a perfect base for exploring by train, as it connects to some truly amazing destinations! This past weekend I took a scenic train ride to the lovely city of České Budějovice, where I spent a delightful afternoon in the castle gardens. You know I'm a sucker for pretty gardens!

Now, a little treat for my dear readers… today’s ballet-themed fun comes in the form of the Ballet & Lace Tea Party which is being hosted at the exquisite Hotel Savoy just across from the Old Town Square. This party promises everything from high tea and classic music to ballet performances from a local dance company! And, as you all know, my weakness is afternoon tea and ballet combined! Oh, to have a pink tutu tea party every day!

Well, I have to rush off now – there are tutu-wearing and afternoon tea plans to make! Do you have a favourite ballerina outfit or tutu to share? Do let me know in the comments! As always, keep those twirls coming and join me for more fashion and ballet adventures next week!

Love and twirls,

Emma
