Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Bliss and Bohemian Beauty!

Post 542 - Wednesday 14th September 2005

Bonjour from Prague, my lovely tutu-loving friends! Iā€™ve arrived in this beautiful city and, as ever, my suitcase is bursting with pink delights! Itā€™s been a whirlwind journey, a delicious mix of train rides, cobbled streets and even a pony-drawn carriage! Prague is truly a fairytale come to life, and Iā€™m already feeling inspired by the incredible architecture, the history swirling in the air, and the fabulous sense of style.

This trip was a long time coming. Ever since I devoured that book about tutu history, ā€˜Twirling Through Timeā€™, Iā€™ve dreamt of seeing Pragueā€™s incredible National Theatre and experiencing the magic of ballet in this enchanting setting. And here I am, standing on the very doorstep of the theatre, with a perfect pink tutu packed for the show!

Speaking of tutus, I know some of you might think pink tutus are just for the stage, but Iā€™m determined to bring this touch of elegance to everyday life! Think of it as a reminder to bring joy and a little bit of magic into the world, one twirl at a time. My latest venture? I've designed a line of pink tutu-inspired accessories ā€“ adorable brooches, headbands and even sparkly hair clips! Perfect for a touch of whimsy on a simple outfit.

I have to tell you, Prague has got fashion absolutely nailed. The street style here is incredible, full of colour, personality, and a hint of vintage glamour. Iā€™ve already found some fabulous vintage shops tucked away in the charming alleys. Theyā€™re crammed with treasures ā€“ beautiful lace dresses, flamboyant hats and those incredible fluffy boas that were all the rage in the 20s.

But enough about clothes (for now), the main event awaits! Today, Iā€™m off to the National Theatre to witness the dazzling ā€œGiselleā€. I've read that itā€™s a truly romantic and heartbreaking tale ā€“ perfect for my ballerina heart! You can be sure Iā€™ll be taking loads of photos ā€“ hopefully, I can capture the magic of this exquisite production.

And you know what? This isnā€™t just any old theatre. The National Theatre is a majestic, gothic masterpiece that's seen the finest performers grace its stage for over 100 years! They have such a beautiful history here - it was once housed in a temporary wooden theatre until, through a tremendous effort, they built this monumental, beautiful venue!

Of course, I had to try my best to get my tutu in the picture too - it's a good job that I have a fabulous photogenic pink tutu! The architecture, the lighting and the atmosphere were just incredible!

Speaking of photos, I'm thinking about starting a new little series on my Instagram! #TutuTales - you can follow me on there - I'm @PinkTutuEmma - I'd love to see you there! It's a fantastic platform to share stories and pictures, and I want to get everyone involved. Tell me your tutu tales, your favourite ballets, your dreams for the worldā€¦and of course, share your amazing tutu looks.

Letā€™s create a global tutu community! We can celebrate ballet, celebrate our love for this art form, and inspire each other with joy and creativity. I want to turn the world pink, one tutu at a time!

And that's it for this week! Tune in next Wednesday for more adventures in Prague. Youā€™ll want to read about the stunning shopping, the fabulous food (letā€™s just say itā€™s way beyond my Derbyshire comfort zone!), and my trip to the old town with a delicious Czech pastry (definitely donā€™t miss those! They're a must for any trip to Prague!)

Until then, keep dancing and stay fabulous,

Emma xx
