Prague, My Darling: A Tutu-Filled Whirlwind! đŸ©°đŸ’–

Hello my dearest tutu-loving friends! It’s Emma here, and I’m back with another post from the magical city of Prague, straight from my fabulous pink-tutu-clad perch! You guys, Prague is absolutely stealing my heart. It’s like stepping straight into a fairytale, with its cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and endless charming cafes. And, the cherry on top? The incredible ballet scene here!

This is post number 549 from my Pink Tutu blog. It’s a little milestone for me. I can't believe I've been sharing my pink-tutu-filled adventures with you for this long! It makes me so happy to see that you're all on this pink-tutu journey with me. 💖

Each week, I'm back here, every Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com sharing the world’s best tutu tales, straight from my pink-hued world!

This week, my travels took me to the National Theatre for an incredible performance of Swan Lake. Talk about fairytale vibes! The intricate choreography, the beautiful music, the costumes
chef’s kiss! The whole experience left me utterly breathless. The swans' movements were so graceful and the leaps were truly astonishing.

But let’s talk tutu history for a moment, darlings!

I did a little digging into the history of ballet in Prague and stumbled upon some fab tutu facts:

  • Prague’s love affair with ballet dates all the way back to the 18th century, making it a historical hotspot for ballet! The Royal Theatre (later renamed the National Theatre) even boasted a dedicated ballet school back in the 1780s!
  • Can you believe this? Back then, tutus were considered a fashion faux pas! Can you imagine trying to make a splash with a sparkly, pink, tutued ensemble in a ballet class?! I dare you!
  • I just love this! Ballet was introduced to Prague in the 1600s through
you’ve guessed it, the royal court! Talk about exclusive access! Those courtiers got to see tutus before anyone else! How fabulous!
  • And speaking of royal court – Prague is brimming with palaces. Did you know that in the 18th century, ballet was also performed at the palaces? Talk about having the ultimate backstage access to Prague’s opulent palaces. It’s truly amazing how ballet and tutu history have intertwine!

Let's rewind a few days to Sunday,

where I boarded the most exquisite train, decked out in my new Pink Petal ensemble from my favorite boutique in Prague (it has the cutest velvet hat, I’m so smitten with it!).

I found a charming vintage teacup that said "Prague" with pink flowers on it and snapped the best photo for my Instagram with the Charles Bridge in the background – pure Parisian-meets-Prague magic. It’s amazing how little things in new cities can make me so happy!

And, oh my! There’s something magical about travelling by train, wouldn’t you agree? My latest Pink Tutu Travel outfit has been quite the conversation starter! You can almost always catch someone admiring the frilly, gorgeous skirt, as the train journeys offer time to relax, indulge in my trusty pink travel notebook, and even attempt a bit of a tutu twirl (with utmost grace, of course!)

Oh, darling, before we forget!

It's a big week for me! My first Pink Tutu Performance at the Theatre! A big leap for me, I'll be dancing for my audience for the first time in a long, long time.

My performance at the National Theatre is going to be incredible. I'm so nervous, I could twirl myself dizzy. My dear friend, the lovely Olivia is going to be joining me, she is a truly inspiring dancer who dances in all pink, every day! So exciting!

*Did you know that my performance is at 6:30 p.m. tonight? * (November 2, 2005). You can grab tickets at the theatre – just remember, every seat offers the most spectacular views. And, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Pink Tutu Queen (me, naturally) and Olivia the Dancing Queen. You can’t miss us.

Tutu-tastic Adventures:

  • Must-visit cafes: I've been on a whirlwind cafe crawl, and I highly recommend Cafe Slavia for the best traditional Czech pastries and gorgeous views of the Charles Bridge. It’s one of the most romantic cafes in Prague, all warm wood, delicious coffee and divine food! I also enjoyed Cafe Louvre - they’ve been doing their own little coffee-dance with Prague history since the 1900s. Oh, how they tell a tale! Their vintage furniture is such a fab backdrop for my #PinkTutugram photos!

  • Shopping like a pro: Forget big, impersonal shopping malls - Prague’s boutiques and vintage stores are what truly make shopping a delight! From chic, hand-crafted tutus at the Belle Époque boutique to whimsical teacup sets, it's all just the perfect addition to my Prague itinerary!

I found the most beautiful pink sequined shoes! Just my style. If you happen to have any spare time while visiting this beautiful city, I highly recommend a stroll through Prague’s charming, boutique-lined streets. It’s my kind of afternoon – a mix of gorgeous dresses, fashion, and pink-tutu-tastic outfits, and an overload of coffee with gorgeous pastel cakes. You can’t really beat the shops here in Prague!

  • Charming Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides: Yes, darlings – nothing is quite as elegant and romantic as a graceful horse-drawn carriage ride in this dreamy city. Prague’s Old Town feels straight out of a fairytale book, almost magical!

  • Prague Castle, Oh My: It’s bigger, better and more magnificent than I ever dreamed, with a magnificent courtyard and an endless series of charming courtyards, churches, and fountains. This place is brimming with old-world magic. Just wait till you see how beautiful this majestic palace is at sunset. I was mesmerised. I took my camera, you could say that. You can also have some fun with tutu poses and photos there, because honestly – a fairytale like Prague just demands pink-tutu perfection!

  • And, last but not least, a Pink-Tutu Walk through Prague: I highly recommend getting lost in its enchanting cobblestone streets dressed in a pink-hued dream! Take my word for it – Prague is one big, beautiful fairytale that’s made for tutus, magic, and a little bit of whimsicalness! It’s so dreamy, I just don’t want to go home!

Tutu-tastic Fashion Forecast:

Here's what I've been wearing to navigate the city in Pink Tutu Glory:

  • My Pink Tulle Travel Dress from Pink Flamingo Boutique – its the perfect on-the-go outfit that combines comfort and elegance in a dazzling pink palette!

  • My sparkly Pink Tutu Shoes: You can’t beat sparkle for the perfect city dance. This perfectly matched sparkly pair was found at a secret, boutique gem I discovered nestled in a hidden Prague alleyway, called “Glitter Dreams”. What can I say – the place truly sparkles like a diamond. They are my go-to accessory – even if my ballerina shoes haven’t quite been seen on the streets yet, these are a close second!

  • My Pink Fedora Hat from my vintage finds in Prague – adds that Parisian-esque extra flair. Oh, the stylish details!
