Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet Bonanza! (Blog Post #558)

Wednesday, 4th January 2006

Hello, darlings! It’s Emma from www.pink-tutu.com and, oh my goodness, what a whirlwind this past week has been! I’m writing to you from the enchanting city of Prague, a place so steeped in history and romance it practically makes you want to twirl. This is the fifth post in my Prague Diaries – I hope you’re enjoying following along!

A Bohemian Rhapsody of Travel

Let’s rewind back to last week. The thrill of packing for Prague – my pink suitcase brimming with shimmering fabrics and elegant shoes – was almost as exciting as the journey itself! Now, I know you all know how much I adore travelling by train, it’s such a leisurely and charming way to get around. The plush, red velvet seats, the rhythmic sway of the carriages… pure magic!

The highlight of the trip was, of course, the pony ride. Don't judge! I couldn't resist, not when a beautiful, white stallion was patiently waiting just outside the train station! A few gentle trots around the cobbled streets made me feel like a princess out of a fairytale. It felt rather magical to have that connection with such a beautiful animal in this magnificent city.

Prague: A City That Twirls

Oh, Prague! It’s been a ballet lover’s dream come true. The very streets seem to pulse with a gentle, lilting rhythm, inviting you to spin and pirouette like a ballerina in a waltzing dream. From the moment I arrived, the air was alive with history, with centuries of artistic legacy whispering from the very walls. Prague feels like a place where art lives and breathes, a place where every cobblestone carries a whisper of creativity.

And what about the beauty of it all! The pastel-hued buildings, the spires reaching towards the heavens, the majestic Charles Bridge adorned with baroque sculptures… Every corner seemed to offer a new breathtaking vista. I almost couldn't believe my eyes.

Tutu Tidbits: A Trip to the National Theatre

My very first evening in Prague was all about indulging my ballet passion. The grand National Theatre stood like a monument to the arts, its very structure a promise of wonder. I practically danced my way to my seat, feeling the anticipation build with each step.

Oh my, what a show! I'm not sure I’ve ever been so utterly captivated by ballet before. The artistry, the choreography, the precision - it was as though a hundred years of Czech heritage came to life on stage. The dancers were like elegant sprites, weaving intricate tales with their movements. And their costumes! I just had to have a peek at the details of their costumes. They were like exquisite dreams woven from fabric and feather, each one a testament to the craftsmanship of Czech artistry. I even saw a ballerina who reminded me of myself - in a delicate pale pink tutu that shimmered like starlight!

Fashion Fancies: A Shopaholic's Paradise

No trip to Prague would be complete without indulging in a little retail therapy, wouldn’t you agree? I found myself in an absolutely gorgeous vintage boutique, lost in a sea of beautiful, whimsical designs. I practically swirled with delight as I carefully examined every tulle skirt, every silk dress, every delicate embroidered bodice. It’s such a joy to find unique, stylish pieces that tell a story, especially when it comes to finding vintage treasures.

And of course, my love affair with ballet has naturally spilled over into my fashion choices. In the heart of Prague’s charming Old Town Square, I found a tiny store crammed with a delightful collection of tulle tutus, in shades of every shade of pink you can imagine, plus an astonishing number of sparkles! You'll have to see my pictures in next week’s post to see my amazing haul, darlings.

Prague Delights: Culinary Charms & Café Culture

Prague truly spoils the senses! The aroma of freshly brewed coffee lingers in the air, creating an inviting, cosy atmosphere. And don't even get me started on the food! I have a confession: I can't resist a decadent chocolate dessert. The patisseries and cafes in Prague were like fairy-tale lands, with shelves overflowing with impossibly tempting creations.

The Czech cuisine is such a comforting blend of flavors – rich, creamy, earthy. It’s just what you need on a chilly evening, and I enjoyed many warm bowls of goulash. There was also a charming little café near the Charles Bridge that made the most beautiful apple strudel – I felt like I was in a movie. The whole experience just felt incredibly elegant and stylish.

Looking Forward: More Parisian Dreams

Oh, my darlings, I'm simply bursting with anticipation for the next week's adventure – Paris! The city of lights, the heart of fashion and style, the epicentre of ballet and tutu history! I can almost feel the energy, the joie de vivre pulsing in my veins.

I'll be sharing all about it with you right here on www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday, so do join me! It’s always such a pleasure connecting with all of you. And don't forget to keep the pink tutu dream alive, darlings! It’s a joyful statement that everyone should embrace!

See you next Wednesday!

Yours always in pink,

Emma
