Prague, Darling! My Tutu Travels - Blog Post #559

Hello lovelies!

It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad travel enthusiast, back with another fabulous instalment of my adventures! This week, we're waltzing our way to the enchanting city of Prague. Oh, darling, let me tell you, this city is straight out of a fairytale! The cobbled streets, the majestic architecture, the magical bridges… it's like stepping into a classic ballet scene.

I know you’re probably wondering how I managed to get here! Well, after my fantastic performance in Budapest with the National Ballet Company (more on that in my next post!) I found myself in the glorious position of having a bit of money to spare for a quick detour. Who could resist the lure of a city as beautiful as Prague?

Prague by Train, of course!

You know my absolute adoration for train travel, darling. The clickety-clack of the wheels, the swaying scenery whizzing past, the cosy carriage… Pure bliss! And the journey from Budapest to Prague was simply stunning. We passed rolling green hills, charming little villages, and even a majestic castle or two. Honestly, I’d happily travel by train for hours just to witness these views!

A Fairytale Arrival in Prague

I arrived at the main station, a grand building all spires and turrets, and took a carriage ride (I'm so romantic! 😉) to my lovely little hotel right in the heart of the Old Town Square. The city just exploded with character. Golden spires gleamed in the sunlight, baroque architecture beckoned me around every corner, and street performers entertained with whimsical music and dance.

Speaking of dance, I couldn’t be in Prague without a visit to the National Theatre. They had a spectacular production of “The Nutcracker” playing on the 11th of January, my first night in the city! Now, I've seen my fair share of “Nutcracker” productions, darling, but this one truly stood out. The costumes, the staging, the passionate performance… it was utterly breathtaking.

My First Steps in a New City

Of course, I couldn't let the opportunity for a spot of shopping pass me by! The streets were filled with chic boutiques and delightful vintage shops. I snagged myself the most glorious pink lace shawl (perfectly complimenting my blush tutu, naturally!) and a couple of antique ballet figurines - one in a delightful swirling pink skirt and another with the most fabulous headpiece - my collection grows ever so slightly!

The food, darling, was simply exquisite! I treated myself to some mouth-watering goulash (and a generous serving of delicious dumplings - essential, of course!). And oh, the pastries… So delicate and beautiful, a true work of art. Honestly, every bite was a treat!

Prague's Ballet Heartbeat

Speaking of ballet, I took a peek at the ballet scene here. They've got the National Ballet, the Prague Chamber Ballet, and several other companies, which gives the city such a lively energy. I can't wait to explore further and see more performances during my stay.

I can’t let you go without mentioning the city’s enchanting bridges, particularly the Charles Bridge, draped in statues and stories from a bygone era. Walking across, I felt a sense of history whispering in my ear. A truly enchanting experience, especially for a hopeless romantic like me!

Prague is a true treasure, my dears! A blend of history, culture, and pure enchantment. I'm falling head over heels with its charming personality and its artistic spirit.

And, as always, I'm on the lookout for beautiful tutu moments in this vibrant city. After all, darling, there's a pink tutu for every adventure, every city, every magical moment in life.

Don’t forget to catch me next week for my final post from Prague, full of more discoveries, beautiful outfits, and some enchanting ballet insights!

Lots of love,

Emma xoxo

P.S. Did you catch that “Nutcracker” show I mentioned? That’s actually on today - 11th of January, 2006. I know, talk about good timing! 😉 Don't forget, every day is a chance for a magical pink tutu moment, my darlings.

P.P.S. My fabulous journey across Europe is all funded by the joy of my dance performances.
