Prague: Where Fairytales Meet Ballet! 🩰✨💖 (Blog Post #560)
Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu-clad adventurer, Emma, and guess where I am this week? Prague! That’s right, my loves! The City of a Hundred Spires, with its cobblestone streets, breathtaking architecture, and oh-so-romantic charm. Prague is literally a dream come true!
I arrived here by train, of course – what better way to enjoy the picturesque landscapes and get that Parisian chic feel? And you know what? I totally rocked my pink tutu on the train! Honestly, darling, people were practically tripping over themselves to get a glimpse of my exquisite pink tulle!
Prague’s magical charm immediately hit me as we entered the city – it felt like stepping into a fairy tale, a feeling only amplified by the fact that I was wearing a gorgeous blush pink tutu, fit for a ballerina princess. My fellow travellers even started clapping when I strolled through the station in all my pink glory – I think I just inspired a few of them to embrace their inner tulle lover!
Now, as I promised last week, I'm in Prague to indulge in one of my most favourite pastimes: attending ballet! But this wasn't just any ordinary ballet, no, my dears. Today was all about history! This Wednesday, January 18th, is the day the world celebrates the birth of the incredible Sergei Diaghilev! And to commemorate this genius of the stage, I attended a spectacular performance of "Petrushka", his most famous work, right here in Prague at the National Theatre!
"Petrushka" – oh, the magic of this ballet! The intricate music, the colourful characters, the story of jealousy and love! And speaking of characters, darling, my tutu this evening was inspired by the Columbine, with swirls of delicate lavender, hints of silver, and oh-so-much shimmery detail! It perfectly matched the enchanting world of the ballet!
Speaking of which, let's talk about Diaghilev, shall we? He truly was the epitome of a revolutionary artist! He didn’t just direct ballet; he transformed the art form itself, giving birth to what we now call modern ballet. This genius, along with his Ballets Russes company, travelled the world captivating audiences with dazzling performances, flamboyant costumes, and, of course, revolutionary choreographies!
And let's not forget the dazzling costumes – they truly are a visual feast for the senses! So, after the show, my loves, I ventured into the beautiful Prague streets – and yes, my pink tutu was with me! You can’t go exploring in Prague without your best dancing shoes – even if it means ditching the slippers!
It was simply enchanting to see all the majestic architecture glowing under the moon, and, as I stood in the center of the old town square, the enchanting melody of "Petrushka" still echoed in my head!
Now, you all know, no visit to a new city is complete without a little shopping. Darling, Prague was absolutely fabulous for its charming boutiques! I found this exquisite shop hidden in the backstreets of Old Town called "The Pink Fairy," (the name practically begged me to go in, you know?!) - it was packed full of delightful vintage lace, exquisite velvet fabrics, and even a selection of stunning vintage tutus!
I absolutely had to treat myself, so I emerged from the shop sporting a beautiful Victorian pink tutu. Oh my, you’re simply divine! - I have to take a photo for my next post, it’s even better with a stunning Prague background, especially as the sun was just beginning to set over the beautiful Charles Bridge!
Before I go, darling, I must talk about my favorite thing: food! I’ve tried delicious local cuisine: grilled cheeses with onion gravy, goulash with creamy potato dumplings, and oh my, the Czech pastries!
You know me, every delicious treat must be enjoyed while sporting my trusty pink tutu! Honestly, my tutu makes every moment feel like a fairytale!
Until next Wednesday, my loves! Keep rocking those pink tutus!

P.S. I’ve also discovered the most adorable cafe right on the Charles Bridge called "The Swan". Imagine, darling, coffee served alongside the view of the entire bridge and the cascading Vltava River! Oh, Prague, you are truly magical! And of course, the "Swan" had some incredible pink pastries!
