Prague Pretty in Pink: A Ballet Blogger's Dream Come True (Post #584)

Hello my lovely Tutu-ettes! It's Emma, your pinkest ballerina blogger, and guess what? I'm in Prague! The City of a Hundred Spires! And I've gotta tell you, the cobbled streets are so picturesque, they're almost making me want to ditch the pink tutu for a Bohemian-style maxi-skirt. Almost...

It's Wednesday, the day I always bring you my Prague blog, and I am bursting with things to tell you. But let's back up a bit, shall we?

A Fairy Tale Train Ride

My journey to Prague was nothing short of magical. I always prefer to travel by train whenever possible - it's such a romantic and peaceful way to travel, especially if you’re dressed to impress in a fab pink tutu. It’s much better than crammed in like sardines in the airport, don't you think?

This time I took the scenic route across the Czech Republic. From Derbyshire, it's just a hop, skip and a twirl (with my pink tutu swirling) to the train station, then a smooth ride through rolling hills and charming villages, ending up in the heart of Prague.

Imagine a world of towering churches, ancient bridges and a river shimmering under the sun - it's like stepping into a fairytale! My train ride was just as fabulous, thanks to a friendly chap who helped me get settled and even complimented my pink tutu. (Just like you’re supposed to when you see a tutu-fied girl, you know the rules.) I felt like I was in one of my favourite ballet books, transported to a land of castles and enchantment.

A Horse-powered Detour to Ballet Bliss

Before reaching Prague, I had the absolute joy of a little side adventure, thanks to my beloved pink tutu. As the train trundled through the countryside, I saw the cutest little pony farm just nestled by the tracks. They had a sign inviting travellers to experience a short ride on their fluffy ponies - who could resist? Not me!

I convinced my train buddy that we needed a tutu-fied, pink-powered pony adventure, and the farmer happily obliged! I've gotta tell you, the little pony was simply darling, with a glossy brown coat and a fluffy mane, he looked so pleased to have a ballerina perched on his back. We pranced around the paddock while I made up a ballet routine on the spot (you know how much I love my on-the-spot choreography!), it was like my own little fairytale!

Prague – A City Dressed in Beauty

Speaking of fairytales, Prague is even prettier than all my dreams put together! It’s bursting with beauty - think gothic architecture, ancient towers, the gorgeous Charles Bridge with its street performers and artists… there’s something truly special about every corner you turn.

But Prague isn’t just about pretty buildings. It has such a vibrant and exciting atmosphere, filled with artists, musicians and, of course, ballet!

The Magic of Ballet in Prague

I’m telling you, the Czech Republic has got to be a ballerina's paradise! Not only is there beautiful architecture for twirling and posing, but the ballet scene here is something else entirely. I have spent the last two days just immersing myself in it all!

There are fantastic ballet classes in studios hidden away in beautiful old buildings. You should see their beautiful mirrors – like an antique ballerina's dressing room! I even joined one of the classes and you wouldn't believe the amazing energy and passion the local dancers bring to it.

But the best part of my trip, of course, has been the ballet performances. I just saw the most amazing rendition of Giselle at the National Theatre! Oh my goodness, the choreography, the costumes, the beautiful, elegant movement – pure ballet magic!

I even snuck in a little backstage visit (a strict pink-tutu rule - if you get the chance, always check out backstage!). The atmosphere backstage was electric. I met the most inspiring ballet dancers, from all over the world - such talent!

And as always, my pink tutu made a few heads turn - trust me, a good pink tutu always brings joy and sparks a conversation about dance! I swear, I met more people in the space of an hour at the theatre than I had in the past few years back in Derbyshire.

A Tutu-tastic Shopping Spree

Because no trip is complete without some tutu shopping and exploring local fashion, I dedicated a whole day to trawling through the streets of Prague's Old Town. My motto is: you can never have too many tutus!

This town is an absolute dream for fashionistas. There are so many hidden boutiques and vintage stores, brimming with unique finds. I found the cutest embroidered tutu with beautiful Czech wildflowers sewn onto it! I knew it would be the perfect souvenir to bring back home to Derbyshire.

I also stumbled upon a shop that specialised in handmade jewellery inspired by traditional Czech designs. Naturally, it included stunning pearl earrings and crystal pendants. You can just imagine me twirling with my new jewellery and the flower-tutu – I'm just radiating ballerina charm!

Don’t Miss My Ballet Fashion Show!

So much more to tell you, dear Tutu-ettes, but I don’t want to spoil everything. Keep your eyes peeled on my blog for a whole new post dedicated to my most recent finds in Prague's charming vintage shops.

To keep things fun, I’m also hosting a little online ballet fashion show right here on my website! Join me this week to see how I’ve styled my tutu outfits for my adventures in Prague!

You know what? I might even inspire you to pack a pink tutu and take your own journey, even if it's just to the park, or for your next fancy dress party, or maybe a grand, extravagant ball. After all, life is meant to be full of pink tutu adventures.

Keep on twirling, Emma
