Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet, Bubbly & Bling! (Post #583)

Hello, darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad travel enthusiast, and today I'm whisking you away to the enchanting city of Prague. Now, if you've read any of my previous posts (and if you haven't, where have you been?!), you'll know I absolutely adore train travel. So, this time I didn't just hop on a plane – no, I snagged a sleeper carriage on the Eurostar, sipping on vintage champagne (it’s always the best way to travel in style, don’t you agree?), and woke up to the magical sight of Prague's fairytale architecture bathed in the morning sun.

Prague's Dance Debut: Pink Tutu Ready for a Waltz

Speaking of enchanting, this city is simply brimming with it! You can practically feel the romanticism and artistic energy swirling in the cobblestone streets and echoing off the charming bridges. My trip wouldn't be complete without taking in some of the incredible ballet performances here, and boy, does Prague deliver! The National Theatre, with its exquisite neo-Renaissance façade and ornate interior, is a veritable temple to the art of dance. My darling pink tutu and I simply had to grace the plush seats of its hallowed halls.

Oh, but before we talk about the performance, let's discuss my sartorial choices, darling! Because what's a ballerina-about-town without a captivating ensemble? This week I chose a custom-designed tutu in the most luscious shade of lavender, with cascading tiers of tulle, adorned with sparkling sequins, perfectly mirroring the twilight glow of the city. You know me – always on trend! And of course, the colour theme? You guessed it – pink! Pink handbag, pink pumps (a touch of classic ballet pink, of course), and my pink sequined bolero for a hint of theatre-inspired drama. I must say, my ensemble had quite a few heads turning as I entered the National Theatre! It felt like I had stepped straight out of a storybook, or perhaps a beautiful ballet scene itself.

Now, back to the magic. The National Theatre's production of Giselle was absolutely divine. The choreography was so elegant and the costumes were utterly stunning. Every leap, pirouette, and arabesque was a delight for the eyes. And of course, the emotional core of the story resonated deeply. The dramatic interplay of love, betrayal, and tragedy unfolded before our very eyes, with the ballerinas executing their roles with absolute finesse and grace. I almost teared up – those emotional depths always get to me.

Exploring Prague's Ballet Scene

While the National Theatre is the crème de la crème, darling, Prague offers an array of ballet experiences, catering to every taste.

There are many historic ballet schools where you can get your fill of dance history. I took a fascinating tour of the Municipal House’s Grand Hall, once home to lavish balls and dances, and imagined the graceful waltzing that would have filled this elegant space. It truly transports you back in time!

But there’s more to Prague than historic dance halls, you know. I love the vibrancy of the street performances in this city – truly a delight for any tutu-clad ballerina. The other day, I wandered through the Old Town Square, enjoying a perfectly brewed cappuccino, when I was mesmerised by a group of talented street performers in a dazzling performance of “The Nutcracker". Talk about captivating! I must say, the ballet scene here truly has a unique, charming energy.

My Fashion Adventures in the City of Charm

Now, no trip is complete without a little retail therapy, darling! And in Prague, you'll find a plethora of boutique treasures tucked away in charming corners. I’m a sucker for exquisite fabrics and unique designs, so you can imagine my glee upon discovering the most wonderful textile store hidden away on the cobblestone streets of Prague’s Old Town. The store was filled with the most luxurious fabrics imaginable – silks, velvets, satins, you name it. I ended up purchasing the most stunning piece of scarlet velvet, destined for a glamorous tutu-creation very soon. And yes, of course, it's pink! It wouldn’t be a true Pink Tutu adventure without some shade of pink in my finds!

But there’s more to Prague's charm than just the boutiques, you know. My favourite discoveries were made during my leisurely stroll through Prague’s enchanting Old Town Square. Imagine, walking past street performers, taking in the architectural splendour, stopping for a sweet treat in a cozy café, all the while soaking up the intoxicating energy of this city. Prague's charm truly gets you in a shopping mood, darling. The vibrant mix of vintage stores, artisan boutiques, and elegant galleries just adds to the magical feel. I swear, even the street vendors have a certain bohemian flair to them!

A Culinary Ballet

Speaking of café treats, Prague's culinary scene is a dream come true for any foodie. This is not just about your standard pastries, darling, but a fusion of flavours and creativity. On my first evening, I had the most incredible dinner at a tiny little restaurant tucked away in a hidden courtyard. They served a delightful roast goose – absolutely divine! It’s all about finding those hidden gems – a delicious journey in itself. I even treated myself to a traditional Czech beer and the tastiest apple strudel, just to say I'd experienced it all. And believe me, every bite was a symphony of flavour – an edible ballet, you might say.

The Magical Ride Home

But my darling pink tutu and I couldn’t stay in Prague forever. So, as much as my heart ached to bid farewell to this charming city, it was time to embark on the journey home. And, what else could I have chosen? Of course, I took a leisurely train ride, a perfect chance for a little daydreaming and reflecting on my wonderful Pink Tutu adventure. The rhythmic chug of the train is just like a soft dance, isn’t it?

Pink Tutu’s Promise

So, darlings, what's the biggest takeaway from my trip to Prague? That this city is simply magical – an artistic haven bursting with life, a vibrant mix of beauty and history, a place where every corner reveals a new hidden gem.

Remember, my dear readers, it’s not about where you go but the spirit you bring. This city certainly instilled in me a feeling of playful freedom and joy. As always, remember to stay stylish, embrace adventure, and never stop dancing – and if you do, darling, I suggest you always wear a pink tutu!

See you next Wednesday, lovelies!

Love, Emma xoxo
